I have been riding dirt bikes for over 25 years. I want to share my love of riding, and the knowlege I have with everyone here. Thank you for watching and subscribe if you like what I am doing.
Racing moto on the new klx300r!
The klx has exhaust and a dyno jet tuner but is stock otherwise. it did pretty good against a field of motocross bikes in the A class, but is to slow coming out of corners. I was passed by several riders due to lack of power. This is the 32:1 classic motocross race in mo tana that draws in pro riders such as Carson brown,David pingree, and ronnie mac who is actually Jimmy albertson by the way. it's a great even that you need to check out!

Testing the power difference from the stock klx to my modded one with dyno jet fuel tuner and pc exhaust. Video ends abruptly because the last half of my video got deleted. Hope you enjoy it.

this video was done before my understanding of this bike. the open loop fine system doesn't have a sensor for this mod. the added airflow doesn't help power in any significant amount without remapping the ecu.
2020 KLX300R On a Motocross Track
มุมมอง 26K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I decided to do a video because there was nothing on youtube on the new klx300. so I decided to take a chance, buy one, and do some videos myself. Thank you for watching!
What the hell happened?! It looked like the other racer came out of nowhere... not your fault. Be well soon.
Thing rips for a 300cc
Does that bike require clutching to get the front end up or are you doing that with just the throttle?
I rode a 2022 KLX300r for a few years, it was great for teaching my beginner son. If only it was about 60-70 lighter, well he’s advanced and I’m chasing him on a KX450. Not that I really need a 450, but damn they really fun.
You should stick to trial riding
Absolutely ripping that trail bike in a MX race! Very cool and surprising to see. That was a crazy crash hope you healed well
Thank you
Did is come with spark arrestor? Thanks
Great video! Did you notice any decel pop before you added the dynojet? If so, did it decrease it?
I picked one of these up fall of 23. Sweet bike for the money, really can’t go wrong with it. Do you still have yours? I noticed you haven’t posted in a long time. Hopefully you didn’t sustain a nasty injury from that wreck.
Ya I do. My goal with making these videos wasn't to be a social media guy. It was to show what the bike can do to inform people. So I think I made enough videos.
Got ya.
Tu si sabes hermano❤
Nice riding !
So do you always leave a nice clothes line for someone else to hit? Ok yea you are that guy 2 times and leave it for someone else to discover? Seems pretty d-bag-ish.
Ever heard of private property dipshit
Bought my ‘22 on Saturday. Loads of fun yesterday for 3 hours. Can’t wait to tear this thing up every weekend!
Where are the dyno charts ? Looks great , sounds great but ......
weird question but how much do you weigh?
Best be getting me a dirt bike
Finally a review wear somebody rides like I do hard-and-fast the regular way regular pace got me on the jumps though
I have had a YZ250X for 5 years and I’m considering getting a KLX300R for my secondary bike to switch things up. Subbed your channel, awesome video btw.
ideal
Did you get one?
@@Backyard_KLXYes I did! I love it! Tonnes of riding footage with it and reviews, DIY videos with it on my channel.
@@endurobanditwait!! I didn’t even realize it was you I was asking lol you’re like the reason I’m getting it on Tuesday… been an on going battle of which bike to get lol
@@Backyard_KLX lol I’m glad my videos were able to help you decide which bike is a better option for you!
I have owned all the xrs built I love those bikes and can ride it anywhere lov them all great bikes ,u just Pura 99 klx300r that has been owned by a kaw factor mechanic it was his bike I can tell you this bike has tons of bottom power but it wines out on the top end ,it is much lighter than my 2000xr25r and feels it to.much more nimbal, being use to much more traction it is not well grounded but makes up fore it in better ride.handkes bumps jumps gaps better ,ruts cornering top speed rocks belong to the xr,but I have yet to properly set up the rear end I think I can help it out .i,there are many after market parts fie it I am actually lowering it 1.5 in will help I rocks turning and sand .I am very impressed with the bike and am happy to add it to my collection.
Did this exhaust have the provisions for the o2 sensor
There is no 02 sensor on this bike
Awesome riding! These trails look familiar. I'm in Oregon, and there's a lot of places that look similar. I can't wait to get out there and ride this spring!
Dang!
Excellent videos of the KLX 300 R Nick!! Sincere thank you. Question, do you have a comprehensive list of the mods that you've done? Any chance you could do an updated video? By the way, awesome race. Sorry about the crash. Hope you recovered well! Don
Thank you! The only mods I have done is the dyno jet and PC exhaust. I raised the handle bars too but tha is all. I might do another video once winter is over
@@Nick-fs8vg Thank you. Hope you don't mind if I ask you a couple other questions. Would you say that, for a novice rider wanting to get better at motocross and dirt bike skills, better to roll with the 300R with mods than the KX250X?
@@Nick-fs8vg Are you going to get some stiffer Springs?
@@Nick-fs8vg I don't know much about what a dinosaur is but do you have a link where I could learn about it and purchase it question malso, for the exhaust?
Hey Nick you ride like a sheila!!
I don't know what that means but if it means slow I would agree with you
Was that a race or just practice?
I practiced on your mom before the race
i love this bike
That acceleration tho
So you took off the cat? ur bike has a cat? weird. and now has just a muffler? It sounds a bit lean with the popping back I hear.
That's just the way a long stroke old school 4 stroke sounds with an aftermarket silencer. Yes these come stock with a cat and if you touch it ,it will burn the fuck out of you
@@Nick-fs8vg actually that's because the bike is already running lean and when you change the exhaust it makes the bike run even leaner. I've never owned a dirt bike with fuel injection but we always had to change jetting when adding a super trapp or different exhaust. I don't know if the FI would compensate for the exhaust change. You probably messed up the computer and how it is set up. My xl 500 ran lean and popped back like that, once in a while it would cut out when you first gave it gas, it had a goofy carb that wasn't adjustable. I hear this on street bikes a lot when they change the exhaust and don't change the jetting. That lean popping back. sorry to ramble.
Wow. You ride tf out of that 300r! That's bs that guy that hit you couldn't hold a line worth a shit. I see this was a couple years back.... Hopefully you had a full recovery and are able to ride. You're a hell of a rider. I have a 01 cr250r. Looking for something a little slower but still very fun. My 3yr old wants a bike so I need something better for putting around at slow speeds but still capable when I want to hit some trails or technical stuff/hill climbs. I've been 👁 the crf250f and the klx300r because of the low maintenance which is what i care most about. This video shows it'll do all I need. From my research i dont think a crf250f suspension can handle that torture stock. Thank you.
Thank you. Ya thats why I bought the bike. I have a 4 year old. This is definitely not what I usury race I just made videos showing what it could do. The reason I got in that wreck was because that guy was a B rider. I am an A class rider but couldn't keep up so on the klx so I got in the mis with inexperienced riders. Dumb on my part. But yes I am good now.
@@Nick-fs8vg good to hear. Thanks. How are you liking the bike to date? Any issues with it or reliability issues?
Having a hard time with my ejk tuner,do you have anything on settings I might want to try?I have a bigger snorkel and big gun exhaust.Any feedback would be appreciated.Grate video 👍
Has your header been turning red hot?Even with programmer mine it hard to keep cool.Have Big gun exhaust.Thank you for the video.
It used to but not anymore. Make sure your tuner is programmed correctly and installed correctly
You’re holding back on the throttle..
Of course I am. I am old and slow
Impressive for a trail bike that's designed to be cheap and reliable
I have this bike and it is an absolute bullet in the woods. I have rode with KTMs, husky and 450 Japanese bikes and none of them are any faster than my 300r in the woods.
Definitely considering a KLX 300 R. All the other trail bikes on the market come with forks that I know will be unsatisfactory for me (bodybuilder around 220lbs). I have a track bike already, but I want a trail bike that will work for both myself and for any friends I bring along. Very helpful to hear about this upgrade!!!
At your body weight you will need stiffer springs if you ride hard. I weight about 200 and am getting new springs from racetech.
@@PeckedToDeathByADuck Thank you!
Can you still stick to 60 hour oil changes?
Follow the manual
I hope you're healed friend, awesome riding. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you
Hope I don't get disappointed trading out my yz250x for this bike. Im 50 years old and just like ripping around woods near my house.
Like I said. Leave your ego at home and you will like it
So what do you need to do to make it close to your yz250x? Stiffer springs and bigger foot pegs? Do you need to uncork it?
There is nothing you can do to this to even come close to a yz250x. But it's still a quick fun bike. It's very heavy. If you dynojet it and pipe it it will help a lot though
I agree with Nick, you can get it closer to a 125 2t torque wise with pipe/tuner/airbox lid removal and gearing change to 13/54, but not a 250. This thing is around 24hp 16 ft lbs stock, and the 250 2t are over 40hp if not over 50hp in most cases, but the 125 2t and 250f race bikes are around 30-35hp.
Dammn bro !! That sucks !!! U were ripping and dude straight up ran into you !! What’d u break ??
My leg lol.
Where is this?
Extremely helpful!
Thanks for all of your detailed replies in the comments Nick! Hope your recovery went well and you're back on the bike.
Hey man do you think this bike is to heavy to do little 15-20 foot jumps? I’m deciding between this and a crf250f the crf is 265 pounds and this is 282. Will this bike behave differently with the 17 pound weight difference? I’m thinking about picking one up tomorrow, so answer if you can. Thanks
Hey sorry. My wife has a honda 250f . It's a very fun bike to ride but the 300 will run circles around it. The klx feels heavy and the Honda doesn't. Both are very fun. But the kawi will jump and climb better for sure.
hey how do u make garage space to fit your bike.. im thinking of getting one but its too big and i need to buy an expensive trailer
get an dirtbike rack, for a trailer hitch, and throw some stuff away😂
I love it. Is it tuned?
Yes
Hope you didn't have to pay to ride that pos track
So I have the 22 300r and just the silencer alone fixed the overheating problem your saying just want to make sure before I get it. Do you have a link to the one you got
A silencer alone will make the problem worse. You need a fuel programmer
Killing it. You got some serious skills.
Thank you
@@Nick-fs8vg still riding? still got the KLX?
@@KandySoufax yes and yes . Just haven't made a video
Man you rip that bike lol. Impressive. Debating between one of these or a klx300 ds... I really want to get into track a little bit with some trail use but don't have a trailer so I kinda need a street legal bike that would do semi ok on a track haha.
