Modern Armored Core is a 3D bullet hell with dynamic economy management for billions of combinations that respond to a logic of weight and energy in their assembly. Reflexes and learning patterns alone won't get the job done.
Reactors have like 11 modifiers... Skill power, sub power, weapon optimize modifier, the different power modifiers (they "can" be counted as separate because they each use modifiers differently), element modifier, skill type modifier, and the 2 random modifiers at the bottom. Are you lumping each reactor section together? Each piece in every section can do something different, changing the way you play characters depending on the bonuses.
You'd love my Esiemo setup 😅 His 4th skill is all that matters really. Use creative explosion special mod, than focus on skill cooldown and you'll be nuking mobbs everywhere consistently 👍

They need to make it so that if you press and hold his first ability, he places all the bombs at once.
You probably already know. But press the weapon info button when you are viewing in the mod screen.
You can jump while in he's in ultimate
He needs a complete rework. He feels horrible to use. Everything he does locks you into stiff animations that are long and awkward. He feels unfinished. His 4 is atrocious. They keep showing him in season 1 trailers so I hope there is some buff or transcendant mod coming.

Multiplicative is better than an additive. You have to invest into those stats to gain a better buff. Same goes for your cooldown on explosive propaganda. I’m sure if you invested into it and added it to your mobbing build it would be a perfect build. Try using multitalented instead of dangerous ambush. I truly like the video format and style. People are getting some lucky drops. I'm almost 40 hours into the game and I have never seen an Armor piece with "durability halved". All I get is gradually drains HP, halves focus, drains focus, taking hits drains stamina etc. I really feel like the RNG aspect on roles for this game and/or no opportunity to actually build it yourself is probably the worst mechanic in this game.
I'm curious why you haven't looked into a Fusion Esiemo at all?
The only skill that scales with Fusion is his 4th skill. But that skill has a lot of negatives associated with it, mainly it's long animation locks. In the time it takes to just do his ultimate animation, you could have thrown out 4 or 5 mines which will do more damage.
@@GooberTroy his second is fusion and there is a trans mod that adds an extra explosion after manually detonating. I personally like it for mobbing.

I tend to favor building defense first when leveling up a character. So this is the mod priority I'd suggest maxing out first and then supplement with additional mods as you gain capacity. 1. HP mod (the basic blue one) 2. Spear & Shield for some defense and Skill Power. 3. Focus on Fire for your first damage mod 4. MP Conversion for CD Those 4 should get you started. The lower priority mods should be Deadly Ambush just because that's not always going to be active depending on the content you're doing. Then Focus on Tech is a mod you can add later.
Nice video, I really wish they would rework him though, give him a higher crit, and maybe a transcendent card that could make his first ability detonate on impact instead or even make it do that default. He can't do anything better than or equally as good as most descendants. My favorite character ruined by a bad skill set.
@@lokistiglic1399 there are a handful of skill-based descendants where the majority of their damage comes from skills (on bosses). Viessa, Blair, and Lepic come to mind. All those descendants all have a base crit of 15 or higher (or have crit scaling in their kit). For a skill-based descendant to push their damage, they need crit. Increasing Esiemo’s crit chance is my number one quick change to fix him. I’d still love to have his 4 skill changed
Changing his out to shoot a few missles or a cluster bomb of stickies that auto lock or something would be so much better. At lower levels 95% of the time, the enemy is dead before the animation even finishes and my ultimate gets wasted.

I hate how certain characters basically require their skill mod to be good. Especially when its a mod that drops froma dungeon at such a low chance.
I just wish the mods felt more impactful overall, especially for how hard some are to get (looking at you, Enzo). It seems like most descendants just have 1 good one. Then there are some rare instances where a descendant will have 2 good ones which can be built around and alter playstyles.
@@GooberTroy speaking of that my friend just got Enzo’s beta red while doing a single vault while I was helping him level out of white Gulch. Meanwhile I’ve spent 20 hours trying to get Jay ber skill mod with no luck. And ya now that I’m able to farm most hard bosses I get a lot of reds and almost all are useless.

? When did I say I didn't test the other ones? The only one I don't have is Creative Explosion, but as others have confirmed, it's not really the best because you lose your more consistent form of damage with the rest of your bombs for increased 4 damage. But his 4 is already really bad. Cluster bomb is bad because it doesn't scale with multiple bombs. Explosive Propaganda doesn't do anything against bosses. Evade is the only relevant mod here because of how efficient it is. You have a free 3rd skill that does more damage on a slightly longer cd. It also helps you increase your bomb count to reach your 2nd skill's damage cap. Hope that clears it up for you

Arche Acceleration is an underrated mod for Esiemo. It gives your mine launcher a bit more zip and actually gives a decent amount of range increase for all of your skills, especially Explosive Propaganda.
Yep, I think that's a good option too, but Skill Expansion just gives more of an increase in range. If you want to run both Skill Expansion and Arche Acceleration, you have to give up either skill CD or skill cost reduction. Or maybe Skill Power Modifier (Focus on Tech - which has skill CD). It's a little difficult to squeeze in.
So... 5:32 all of that section calculating to say the game actually calculates it for you. I think you should start by saying that. Thanks for the help.

It’s following the same trend as every other game. It’s been out for a little over a month and new games come out or people accomplish their goals within this game to move on to other things. It’s the natural cycle

Good video. One of the reasons why I was interested in investing into him is because apparently he just... sucks, and I'm naturally drawn to those sorts of characters. But he does seem fun to play. I wish he had better/more creative transcendent mods.
You and me are same then. I consider myself a bit of a "video game hipster" who tries things considered off meta to see if there's a way those things can break into the meta with some additional research. Everyone says Esiemo is bad, but I think he's actually a little different in that he doesn't have the most burst (like a Lepic), but he has more frequent burst windows. In his current state, he just needs a numbers tweak to be great. But more important a redesign on some aspects (like his transcendent mods or 4 skill) could be greatly appreciated.
Purp reactors give their bonus while just equippedon person, where as gold reactors you must have the legendary gun in hand. Do you think having a purp reactor would be more consistent dmg than a gold?
@@Dmagicman52 It’s really dependent on the weapon the gold reactor requires as well as what you have built up. You want it to be a weapon you would use as a primary weapon, so likely not a heavy weapon for example simply because the gun swapping can be annoying. If you have a gun you’ve heavily invested into, such as Enduring Legacy or perforator, then finding a gold reactor with an Enduring Legacy is worth it. Otherwise you’ll be fine getting by with a purple reactor for most content for now
The main issue with the purple reactors is that they are much more difficult to target farm.
One more thing. If you test preemptive, i believe they have changed it. Its not to targets with full health anymore, but only when you break into the health bar. So shielded enemies require shield to be almost gone and you pop on them, or one skill attack at max health enemies. They changed that, im 100% sure. It used to work on full health consistently, but it seems like it doesnt work as well anymore.
You’re right, I had forgotten that change was made early on in a hotfix. If I’m not mistaken it was because Preemptive strike could constantly trigger in colossi while they had their shield still making it do a lot of extra damage. Regardless, it still provides a little more while mobbing than deadly ambush. Or if running explosive propaganda, deadly ambush could still be used

Is there ever a time a purple is better to use than a gold? Because it kind of sucks you get the extra damage when you only have one equipped..
@@jaykelz1528 if you’re just doing some general mobbing, you can get away with using a purple. In fact a lot of my secondary descendants are still using purple reactors. I think the only time it’s really worthwhile to use a gold for mobbing is if you have it for a weapon that’s decent for mobbing such as Thundercage or for a weapon you’ve invested quite a bit into. In my case, Secret Garden is the weapon I’ve invested the most resources into and it does the most damage of all my weapons, so I could go for a mobbing-focused reactor that has a secret garden mounting

Is that a bug introduced with the most recent patch? I haven’t played with propaganda since the previous patch, but back then it seemed like it was correctly using Esiemo’s HP and Defense so it felt a lot tankier. I don’t really like how your 2nd skill can instantly detonate propaganda because it feels like it defeats the purpose a bit.
@@GooberTroy It has to be a brand new bug cuz I use it quite a bit an even my buddy was wondering why it was dying so easily . I really liked it for mobbing id throw it down an ult an it would bring a wild wave clear but it's being odd lol

I had recorded/edited this guide 4 times and in every single 1 of them I removed the camera...except this one. It was a late night recording session. That's on me, sorry! But that's a fair point about propaganda. Give it max range extension and you can taunt the whole map
@@GooberTroy Yeah, with CDR, Duration and Range you have a solid Build for Defense Mission. To bad the Mod is bugged right now but before I was able to cast it without downtime. =) So defense Missions were like a walk in the park.

Luna isn't helping him 😅 try to enjoy him instead of max him. He's much more fun then critical. Creative explosion has got to be the funnest playstyle in the game. Il have a video on it later today if your curious. It can do 1.6 m every 7 seconds or so, and yes uses up all the bombs AND removes the firearm attack from his forth, huge womp womp
@@Twizzler300 like a lot of descendants, his trans mods just don’t really feel impactful. Explosive evade isn’t really build defining. It works though because it’s just free damage, but not really something to build around. I was hoping cluster bomb would function differently and just change his 1 to split into additional bombs, but not replace his 2! I still have yet to receive Creative Explosion, but based on your description it works as I’d expect. Sucks the firearm buff is dropped when equipping that mod though. Overall it seems like his 4 skill is a bit of a mess and I think that’s the part of his kit that needs the biggest overhaul
@GooberTroy oh believe me. Explosive evade is 100% build able. And should be. Those mines can hit for almost 200k alone, that's without the 2nd skill adding damage. It's actually his strongest skill not called arche explosion.
@GooberTroy ideal you run 78 cooldown and secret garden as you have. It kills devourer (just mentioning others runs, I personally haven't gotten his gear perfect yet) 20 secs with him. He absolutely should be built around explosive evade, I hope you try it eventually. He spawn camps for well over 3m damage a pop
@GooberTroy I'm only mentioning colossal damage build because it makes running pyro and devourer solo ALOT easier and faster, for farming gear purposes. That evade is absolutely aces. And funny enough, his base passive that drops a live grenade is INSANELY useful with creative explosion and refreshes in like 10 secs. Creative explosion makes him as fast as bunny for quite some time, and literally a live time bomb. He is ABSOLUTELY A BALST TO PLAY (Pun intended) that way 😆 it's so funny hitting outposts over and over again with arche explosion with 80% range
i hope they add invasions. invasions seem like this flash in the pan innovation which devs are hesitant to push and develop as a central feature bc too many thin-skinned players see their game as a form of active customer service which placates their egos. invasions are, on the face of it, anti-consumer, but have the potential to enrich play by encouraging players to surrender that element of ego, of total mastery and authorship of their experience.
This isn't exactly related to invasions, but one of my favorite pvp experiences was when playing New World on release. When that game first came out, everyone was afraid to flag themselves for pvp in the open world. But when I finally took that step to flag for pvp, it made my experience so much better. It was like I was playing a survival game trying to avoid other players if I didn't feel like fighting. And it also made for some memorable experiences when I would fight players.

@@calebman1 what are you talking about.. You literally start with your first one unlocked at lvl 1. And you unlock next ones within the next 2 levels from the last one.
