Hi everyone. I apologize, but I missed the targeted mark with this video. This video wasn’t meant to be targeted at shields being bad or how to build a specific character like Enzo. I was just using Enzo as my template since he was a fresh descendant I literally just unlocked. The main purpose of this video was to illustrate you should invest more heavily in your defensive mods first by leveling them up to fill out your mod capacity instead of running with a rainbow build of low-level mods. Due to how mods scale up the higher level they are, it’s best to take a “inch wide, mile deep” approach where you invest more heavily in a handful of mods. I will walk back my statement about shields being bad and just say instead they’re situational based on the descendant. Sorry for any confusion!
@@GooberTroy I think a cool passive for him would be once Shields are depleted and he's losing health. He gains madness, more health, more health loss more madness i think that would gel better with his ult and kit maybe
Around 7:51 there is an answer to the Skill Power vs. Skill Power Modifier decision. If you go through a characters abilities you will see lines that say "Skill Power x ####.##%". The first part has a base of the Skill Power given by your Reactor multiplied by the % of just Skill Power. The second part (####.##%) is your Skill Power Modifier, I've seen a video changing the reference of it to Motion Value from other games which is a solid analogue, any boosts to Skill Modifier flat add to this number, so if a skill has "Skill Power x 500.00%" and base Technician gives 13% that new math is "Skill Power x 513.00%" in a flat additive manner. So the current logic for it is the lower the ####.##% is the better Skill Power Modifier is, while the higher that number is the better raw Skill Power is. For good examples to look out, Freyna has a lot of sub 100% "Skill Power x ####.##" and adding Technicians +13% to a 9.86% is more than doubling the damage that ability will do, while on the other hand Viessa has a lot of "Skill Power x 1000.00%" or more and turning 1430.00% to 1443.00% is not even a 1% increase to damage. In those cases increasing her base skill power that gets multiplied by over 1000% for the end damage makes a bigger impact, so (11060 x 1.2)x14.3=189,789.6 (the 1.2 would be a Blue raw Chill Skill Power Mod's unranked effect). I haven't seen anyone work out the math on it yet, but I'm currently working around 500% Modifier being the swap point between Modifier to Raw Power being better. I'm sure one of the local math nerds will work it out eventually, but I would recommend everyone finding a number that works for them in general for now.
Thanks for breaking all this down. I also have a video talking about the differences between skill power and skill power modifier. It ultimately depends on the character as to which stat is more valued, but every character still benefits from some sort of attack and battle mod. Well, maybe not necessarily supports, but you know what I mean 👍
With so many mods in the game for both Descendants and Weapons, it's hard to figure out what the best priorities are, especially in the early to mid game. This video is made to illustrate which mods you can focus on to make your life easier as I've made the mistake in my early experience with the game. Picking 1 or 2 mods in each category below and maxing them up first will give you a much higher return vs investing in several mods at once. The scaling on the mods towards their max level can get pretty high. Your first focus should be on your Descendant's defense where you pick two mods early on to level and bolster your defenses. This will make you less of a glass cannon and you'll have better staying power. The second priority should be your weapon mods where you focus on Firearm Atk > Fire Rate > Crit rate > and then whatever else you can fit. Your final priority should be an offensive mod for your descendant where you then can supplement with utility mods.
@@GooberTroy well the shield depends on the descendant, Enzo haz an ability to regen shield, so its better to have high shields, cd, and shield recover in combat, he does not need skill power his focus Is more in weapons
@@tidussquaal thanks for the clarification. I don’t doubt there’s an exception for shields. I would think Ajax is also an exception because doesn’t his void-enhanced 2 and 3 skill increase max shields? At face value, shields tend to have lower base values though, but I assume that’s because you can naturally recover that in combat compared to HP. For Support characters, I would think skill duration and cooldown are very effective mods. For Enzo it should increase the duration of both his 3 and 4 skills which would. It’s increase his survive ability and the buff duration for his team? I imagine Yujin had similar benefits
Enzo’s survivability is his shields. The more he have, the more he can regenerate to make him a shield tank. Add some defense in case your shields break
He’s not one of the shield players. Go to your menu and look at the stat growth tree, that’s what determines what you gotta spec into. As in the BETA that stat growth tree determines how much stats you get for that attribute per level gain. Enzo has mid stats for shields so regen slow and not a huge gain after 5 re-spec. The only 3 that are actually good as per the stat tree is VIESSA she has the highest out of cover for shields regen and AJAX is right next to her then KYLE who has the highest stat gain on max shields. Shields also require zero resources and have 2 forms or regen, in battle and out of battle you can check in the stat menu on the section label SUB. Everyone else should be balance and be spec heavy in defense cause the warframe community have a misconception with this game and shields even tho there’s multiple videos in 4K showing defense doing what’s it’s supposed to do. Shields are working as intended as they have never altered there mechanics since BETA. Currently sitting on 9k HP 5k Shields and 34k defense on VIESSA with 6 on regen which ain’t good working on that as we speak
Shields aren't very good. You get way more value out of HP and DEF mods, and if you run both of those, you shouldn't need anything else for survivability. Enzo and Kyle are exceptions, but that's about it

That's what I thought initially too. It just felt like his kit didn't quite come together as much as I wanted. But he has some tricks that I think smooth out his gameplay a lot more.
