I’ll give information on the places I go, maybe a bit of history too. Some RV tips and tricks along with some preparedness videos. So follow along!!!

Just WOW! An amazing legend. I've only gotten to see her relocated cabin at the Adirondack Experience Museum thus far. But I will be paddling out there to see the grounds sooner rather than later. Thank you!

Gotta get some shirts and such made up that say ADK Man "You WONT Be Disappointed" :)
Hey.....you might be on to something!!
I realize this was from last year, but I don't think holding Lake Durant responsible for the Reserve America fee is reasonable. I just went through three years of my RA transactions and was never charged anything other than $7.25. That includes DEC campgrounds and State parks, with and without electric. It includes my stay this week at Durant as well. Are you sure you didn't make a change to this reservation? Or book the four nights in two separate transactions? A $7.25 booking fee and a 7.25 change fee would make sense for you to be charged 14.50.
@@thomasliptrott3834 There were no changes to my reservation or booked twice….I couldn’t figure it out myself. I did ask at the booth, but all they could say was to call RA directly. I was going to do that but, after my arrival home, my mother in law suffered a major stroke which required travel to Syracuse for an extended time. Then I completely forgot about it…….until now!
Have you ever gone to Old Forge Campgrounds for one of there Halloween weekends?
@@RDobbs-uv4xc I’m assuming that would be the Old Forge Resort by Water Safari, I’ve been there but not during one of their themed weekends.

So sorry for your loss, losing a parent is one of the most difficult things to go through.
Thank you!
I'm sorry for your loss, my friend. I too am from the Adirondacks, though I haven't lived there for many years, I very much enjoy your work. Well it sounds to me like you and your dad had a great relationship so I'm sure you will want to honor his memory. I think the best way to do that is to live your life to the fullest, as that is what he would want for you. Of course you'll mourn his loss, but when you feel up to it, maybe you could put together some pics and stories of some of the things you and he did together and make a dedication video to him. Just a thought, but i think that would be pretty cool, and maybe a little therapeutic for you. Anyway, hang in there pal
Thank you, Yes he would have wanted us kids to continue living life….no doubt. Our main concern is getting my mom into a new normal. It’ll take a bit of time but I’ll be back out there soon. I usually take the month of July off from social media anyways, mostly because I’m off grid and out of range. My dad taught me a lot about the outdoors, camping and canoeing….he was a no bullshit common sense guy. I was thinking of a video but not sure! I’ll be back posting probably in the beginning of August.
Hang in there buddy and Happy Father’s Day. Today is my first Father’s Day without my wife who passed away October 24, 2023
Thank you….you hang in there too!
Just stumbled across this. Looking at the campground map, I only see one shower house. Are there more? I see there are a lot of bathouses, but not sure if there are showers in the actual restrooms. Thanks!
Only the one. The bathroom houses around the park do not have showers!
@@ADKMan Oh wow! That is pretty wild only having one shower house for a large campground! Thank you so much for responding. Will help me decide what campground to choose!!
@@monebe7 I can tell you that Limekiln is one of my favorites.....So much paddling and hiking in the area. They have some great water sites....or....if you prefer away from people they have some of those too.

I wish Eddyline made it so you could use a dashboard like on my Pungo 120. My next boat is going to be either an Eddyline or a Tsunami 165. Try fitting a Pungo dashboard to it.
I actually had the president of Eddyline Kayaks reach out to me to tell me they are considering a dashboard. He didn’t say when…but with their recent move to another state I’m guessing it won’t be anytime soon.
@@ADKMan Cool. Yeah. The dashboard on my Pungo 120 is the bomb. I would not go without it. Have you ever Kayaked in the Catskills? We will be there over 4th of July week

Do you review any campsites in the Catskills? I know you live in the Adirondacks so it may be a hike for you. Thanks
If I get down that way, I do. I do have a trip in mind to Balsam Pond near Norwich.
Good Sunday morning
Good morning!
Makes me sick that these camper whores care nothing about people. All they care about is money. They all should go bankrupt. We bought a Travel Trailer during the pandemic. We decided on a trailer and did comparable pricing. The exact same camper was nine thousand dollars less At another dealer. I showed the original place we started at the price and they wouldn’t budge. So we purchased elsewhere. I asked them why were they so expensive everywhere else? The salesman said they are taking advantage of people because of the pandemic but we refuse to do that. Money rules the World.
The market is flooded with "c" campers that ppl won't touch because the shotty builds .. us that have been in the camping game along time know better.. 6.6 million new campers during that time.. we call them the 6.6er's... you can tell them from the ones that know what's up.. Happy camping
Correct....correct.....and correct again!!!
So true It’s a shame
It is!!
Way to call the RV industry out Dan. Fleecing the consumer with way higher prices and way inferior products. The RV industry epitomizes all the greed that came out of the covid years. Shame on them. I could tell you were really ticked off by it.
RV builds, components, and the labor have all taken a nose dive the last twenty years. Fueling that the last 4 years wss the covid spike which drove the prices through the roof. I retired January 2020 and originally had planned on buying a used high end class B to travel and off road camp. That idea went to hell that spring. Plan B was to build out our 2005 Suburban into a camper. Put about 5 K into solar, fridge, heater, and other components. Used it for 3 years and visited 49 US states and all but 2 provinces in Canada. Put 85 thousand miles on it during that period and have no regrets.
Now that sounds like awesome trip! I truck camp some but I’m not as limber as I use to be. Glad plan B worked.
Great video thank you. I have a few health issues so I was thinking of a rv this year (tent camping is getting a little hard for me) . I think the rv idea is out maybe camping as well.
Don’t get discouraged, there are deals to be found……maybe not from a big dealer….but the mom & pop dealers. They have better pricing and will work to get you to be a return customer!! The biggest draw back on these rigs is that they depreciate rather quickly, so if taking out a loan you’re almost immediately upside down. RV’s are fun but does require preventative maintenance. If Buying used there are deals from folks wanting to get out of their loan or a rig that may need a little work. Just take your time and learn what to look for when buying used……a lot of good videos on TH-cam.
Thank you sir for the information appreciate it.
LOVING your channel, and I just started watching it TODAY. Great content, and GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well thank you!! Hoping for more great adventures this summer!!
I've been to the Adirondacks probably six times now, including the years before AND after the Olympics at Lake Placid. Then, once for an AWESOME camping trip with my brother and good buddy which was forty years ago. We hiked in and rented a canoe rowed about a couple miles out and camped on an island for three or four days. NO ONE else was around and it was beyond gorgeous. Also, two or three family reunions took place at my cousin and her husband's property up near Newcomb. JUST God's country up there. The last time I was there was at Rydin Hi ":Dude Ranch" Resort up in that area. Just unbelievably gorgeous country. I know that doesn't have much to do with this video, but I saw your shirt and figured you are up in that area and I wanted to say that. Great video man. From Cleveland but originally from Buffalo. Have a great weekend.
Yes, my channel is mostly about the Adirondacks…..and this video was at my favorite free site. I was raised in the northwest corner of the ADK. Awesome to read your story here….thanks for watching….hopefully you can get back up here someday…….and GO BILLS!
@@ADKMan Now that I'm retired I'll definitely be back. I LOVE it up there! Enjoy!
I agree ADK man. researching for a year. costs, materials and craftsmanship very disturbing. going with a 2008 born free built for two, low low milage and mint condition, but the quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. 40K. In NC, dealer informs me some bankruptcy hitting industry, they have lowered some prices! think it might be good if it forces quality and pricing to improve. warranties would be a whole separate video for you.hope i made a good choice. lake george nice area. thinking 2 or 3 k for a solar lithium battery upgrade otherwise rig is like new. thanks for you videos, insights and sharing your experience.
Coming out of 2008 crisis, the RV industry improved quality quite a bit and held it until about 2019…..then it went downhill. Prices in 2020-2022 were high because demand was high but now that sales have dropped dramatically but these dealers want to hang on to those high prices…..without the demand they can’t and those that don’t adjust will be hurt the most. Enjoy your rig, solar is a great idea, love mine but again that is an area you get what you pay for.
👍🙂👍
