Nice review, especially the part where you give the sites that a travel trailer will fit. I do have a question for you, if there is no dump station where do you go to dump your black and grey water? Is there some place in Cazenovia? What if you need more water for your camper? Is there a place in cazenovia you can hook a trailer up to to fill your tank? The thought of having to drive all the way there and back home with full tanks or close to it might be too much for my vehicle to take. Any suggestions for this newbie?

I knew before I went that there was no water or dump station so I filled up before I left. It’s just me so my tank of fresh water will last a long time. I do have a five gallon container that I can fill with water to put into my camper if need be. You can stop at any fire station to get drinking water. After I left I was heading to another campground so I dumped there. If you Google the area, there is probably another state park or private campground that you can dump….usually there is a fee $5-10 to use their dump station. But hey you had free camping!!

@@CuriousinNY I have not been there. I get into central NY only for a few days….I mainly stick to the Adirondacks.

@@ADKMan Good to know. I’m trying to explore all over NY. Do all fire stations allow you to fill your fresh water tanks?

@@CuriousinNY most are volunteer and not staffed 24/7, but if someone is at the station they will most likely let you fill up. During a disaster/major power outages, fire stations are commonly used as a community resource for getting water, warming stations and even an emergency shelter. How do I know, I was a firefighter for 30 years and spent the last 12 years of my career as a chief, and several times though out that time the station provided water, shelter and during the 1998 ice storm we had volunteers come in and staff the kitchen 24/7 to cook and deliver meals. There is nothing that states they are required to, but several times throughout the years I have stopped at a fire station here and there and filled up jugs of water.
