You should try Kraft cheese slices rolled into a big ball, not the cheap slices as they are too soft & gooey. Break a piece off and mould it round a size 6 or 8 hook in the shape of an Arlsey bomb. It keeps for ages just wrapped in clingfilm & the smell improves with age.

The first two pike were caught on a trout fillet

I wish more fisheries did this rather than stocking a lake and just leaving it, invariably ending up with thousands of small roach and perch, and some carp, which never reached their true potential. Obviously goes for all species too, not just carp.

Funny how fishing programme backing tracks have changed over the years: Growin up watchin matt hayes, wilson, mick brown and bobb nudd, there backing music was like your next door neighbors nerd son, just pressed demo on his yamaha keyboard. I hate to say it but wiping the sides of a fish takes off their protective slime? That’s why we use mats? I’ve kept fish for over 20 years to 25lb btw. Nice vid though.

New sub, l9ve yr channel, fished for 30 plus yrs ( then had EVERYTHING STOLEN 😢) broke me, lost the lot & my will to start again ( where do you start after loosing everything) so after 6-7 years I started buying carp tackle, spent what 5 years carping but ive just spent more than I'd admit on a pole waller rod etc, when carping i caught a bream was disappointing ( friend said no he weighed it- 12.07 & I was disappointed 🙄. So that's when I invested in course tackle- also going Ebro ( been France the last 3 yrs) this spring, hopefully I beat my 130lb PB 🎣🎣🎣, great channel ( what lake is this BTW ) Thanks in advance 😉

Also, look for Mussels on the "Oops" counter (on or near to use by date) like at Morrisons. You can freeze any you don't use a few times. Just be careful touching your lips if you do that - say if you're Smoking or having a drink/sarnie. I always take a bottle of Hand Sanitiser anyway.
