I didnt think it was possible but now after beating these games after 10 years i think its time to Cheat the game. the second game superboss The beheaded Knight is really hard and i think i aught to revisit it

The fact that the game has early-game anti-grinding coded in, and it's tied to having Jenna in your party, is just so delightfully goofy.

My question is, how long did it took for each routing, since when i was younger i remembered playing Pokémon fire red with a similar strat using the save and load from the (emulator) eventually I noticed that no matter what you do each move your opponent does next is set in stone, I know golden sun is not quite the same as Pokémon but i kinda related to that feeling of repeating the same fight over and over again till i got the route i needed. (although since i sucked at the game my team was a random mishmash with no logic whatsoever) Either way, honestly i respect your choice so much, and most speedrunners too, it's tedious and there's also the grinding part that takes forever but winning after days or even months of repeated attempts feels quite satisfying.

I love seeing glitches used in games because from the perspective of an NPC it’s just “this little boy just jumped threw a bomb and swung a sword and now he’s flying, AND NOW HYRULE CASTLE IS ON FIRE AND DESTROYED BECAUSE HE WALKED THROUGH A DOOR FUNNY”

So, what happens when you password the save over to TLA? Do you get 2 Jennas?

This video was almost nostalgic in a strange way. I spent so much time as a kid watching sonofaglitch break this game and getting to guess what glitches you'd use was really fun. Fantastic video, and i love videos of breaking games in fun ways.

there's a place in the graveyard entrance with plants and a rock that gives you bombs and bombchus, it might help for the next challenge

I would think this challenge would involve him going into or touching water sources, so floods water splashback wouldn't count. Mario is not actively going to water and touching it, and is different from a sprinkler system or water fall because those are active bodies of water.

I have this weird relationship with Golden Sun where I beat the entire first game on the GBA and probably still have the save somewhere, yet remember absolutely nothing about it. This was such an interesting video, especially learning the intricacies of how the game works behind the scenes, that it makes me want to replay it again.

Fun personal note: I learned that the RNG was deterministic in this game near the end of the game with the hall wizard guy. I was underleveled and shouldn’t have been there, but I was 20 minutes into the fight and I hadn’t saved in hours so I just kept rewinding the fight endlessly until I won. Anyways I saved pretty frequently after that.

Yeah, Golden Sun's RNG was always oddly absolute, based on selected actions rather than non-action movement such as cursor or player movement, seemed odd because many games before this could easily do RNG under that, but Golden Sun just didn't wanna. That's why, even as a kid, and with less overall knowledge, item drops were narrowed down to using a specific elemental attack on an enemy to get it, as a kid I had no idea why it worked that way, good to know now.
