The closest to BETA SV you can get! Arc'teryx Rush Jacket Review [FW23 Revision]
The Rush Jacket was revised in FW23 as it transitions to full time backcountry/touring duty within Arc'teryx's Whiteline. It is basically a Beta SV which is currently no longer available with a sleeve pocket for RFID passes if you frequent resorts.
New updates include deletion of the powder skirt, a new sleeve pocket, new internal dump/security pockets, and uniform N80d 3L Most Rugged Gore-tex membrane throughout the whole jacket.
This is the ultimate all-rounder for any activity that requires a longer hem.

The Gamma MX is perhaps the ultimate shoulder season jacket. It is highly wind and water resistant and the interior fleece lining adds slight warmth for your properly layered system. THE MOST BASIC ARC'TERYX JACKET?! Arc'teryx Beta Jacket Review
มุมมอง 31K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The Beta Jacket is basically a Zeta SL without Paclite. It is light with minimal/basic features that makes it a very generic rain jacket with Arc'teryx patterning. In my opinion it is suitable for a large audience that does not require technical features and is the most budget friendly hard shell in the Arc'teryx line up. #arcteryx #betajacket #goretex
I GOT HYPED! Arc'teryx Axis Insulated Anorak Review - System_A
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Went in on the hype on this #System_A drop 2 by Arc'teryx. I am a fan of Anoraks and this insulated piece is very intriguing. Utilizing Goretex C-Knit combined with Coreloft 65gsm, this anorak has a wide range of use in various temperatures. However, being an insulated anorak, it will be hard to use this for active use except in the coldest of temperatures. The 40d 100% nylon face is more tailo...
Active Cold Weather GOAT: Arc'teryx Proton LT Hoody Review
มุมมอง 28K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Proton LT features the Fortius™ Air 20 face fabric which is highly breathable. The Proton LT excels at keeping you warm during medium/high output activities in the cold. The Coreloft 80/60 used is very warm, making this jacket useful below freezing, any warmer and you'll be drenched! Due to the nature of the breathability, this jacket is quite niche in its usage and is not recommended for u...
Toasty Marshmallow: Veilance Altus Down Review
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Altus is based off of the now discontinued Anneal which was a solid down jacket. The Altus is a highly lofted puffy which has an excellent warmth to weight ratio. At 660g for the piece, it is very warm and will take you to near freezing with just a t-shirt underneath. The 850 European goose down is sealed in with a 13d face fabric with a Goretex membrane with C-knit. The puffy nature of thi...
The What Hood?! Arc'teryx Beta AR Review - Dark Elysium
มุมมอง 39K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Beta AR was my first entry into the Arc'niverse many years ago. It features the Drophood where the hood is separated from the collars. This theoretically allows the hood to sit nice a flush while providing optimum protection. The Beta AR utilizes the Goretex Pro Most Rugged membrane, is lightweight and packable, which includes all the features you'd need in an all-rounded jacket. 6:00 Layer...
Synthetic Furnace - Atom AR (Heavyweight) Hoody Review - Distortion
มุมมอง 43K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Atom AR is the warmest offering in the Atom series, utilizing Coreloft™ 120/80/60g/m² in different zones to maintain optimum heat retention performance. The Tyono™ 30 on the AR is much more wind and water resistant than the 20 found on the most popular Atom LT. The Atom AR is not a do it all piece and has a specific temperature range for usage. If you live in a colder climate where the high...

👍🏼🙏🏼
Is length on rush longer than beta sv? I actually can buy beta sv but I didn’t is it better than rush?
Honestly water got through a pro gore is better but heavier. Honestly I can wear this but not with alit of leaders maybe a hoody. However it’s not convenient to layer so I just wear a cheap insulated outdoor Columbia jacket
Do you find the position of the outer chest pocket is placed lower than it should be? Looking at it compared to the new rush it seems Arcteryx designed the sv with a central positioned chest pocket. Is there any functional reason for this? Thanks!
Is it warm ?
What is the difference between it and gamma lt
Looks like no hood height adjustment in the Rush.
Just watched all of your videos. How do you have so many pairs?
If you don’t still like this jacket would love it if you passed it over to me🙏🏾
Thanks ! Has anyone found an alternative light tote in this 30l size range ? Perhaps for slightly less coin ???
Hi, do you know the difference between old and new model? X000007072 and X000005420, thanks :)
Ok these reviews are really underrated. I want to get either a thorium sv hoodie or parka. I’ll be needing you to do a review of each before I buy
What size are you wearing?
Always size L unless specified!
Thanks for your honest reviews, would you recommend this as skiing midlayer (with Beta hardshell)? I was choosing between Epsilon/Atom but after watching some reviews and checking on reddit, Proton seems better because of its breathability? (Also Epsilon is sold out everywhere 😢)
Proton or Atom would work better as a mid layer. Epsilon won’t breath well enough under another shell.
How tall are yo and what size are you wearing ?
I hate storm hoods, drop-hoods is a way better in majority cases, and Yes it does protect against wind very well without having hood on, and not irritate neck, chin or face like storm hoods. Also during heavy rain storm hoods are pretty bad as water dripping on edge of the hood and inside of collar, unlike drop in hood where collar is separated and water just drips down outside of it.
Watching this years after you put it out. Great breakdown. P.s still using a mountain designs paclite i bought over a decade ago. Still works brilliant. Never waterproof treated also.
I am considering to get this as a commuting rain shell over the Beta AR for the following reasons. More durable fabric, internal dump pocket, higher hand pocket, prefer integrated hood over drop hood, longer length for coverage. Also, can the hood be adjusted to wear close to the head if I don't wear helmet? It has one less back adjustment than the AR. What do you think? Any other suggestion?
Hope this isn’t too late but the hood can be adjusted nice and snug to conform to your head. My only concern would be the length, it may feel too long for everyday use but if you’re ok with that then it’s perfect!
what size is the Mionn IS? I've considered buying the Medium Arris to layer over my Medium Mionn like you exhibit but wasn't sure if I should size up or not.
The Mionn IS was large, if you're buying the current version it is now regular fit instead of slim fit in the past.
Is the jacket reviewed in this video a 2024 production? Got one on the way within the next couple days. My only concern is the several complaints I've seen about the grabby interior fabric. Is it as annoying as people say?
This was the first production for FW2023, I believe it is unchanged for 2024. You'll get used to the grabby interior... eventually.
It feels great with a T-shirt on, but it will grab the sleeves of a long sleeve shirt/polo. Very cozy feeling piece. Feels warmer/thicker than it is because of that liner.
Like the size, but then they had to be too smart and mess it up with the flap! They just couldn’t help themselves! And the straps are also a bit short. But the size is great. Wish they’d keep the size increase the straps and lose the flap!
another opinion video... if its too much money go return it and get your priorities right
Damn… that’s a nice jacket (which i can’t afford😢)
Which is better? Ar or rush? I’m liking the drop hood but overall not sure
if you need a shorter length jacket I’d go a with the Beta AR. If not then Rush is better imo.
only beta males wear a beta jacket
How is the Proton vs the Epsilon? Which is more durable for abrasion resistant?
Epsilon is more abrasion resistant, but the 2 jackets serve 2 different purposes.
Could this be warmer than the atom heavy with its soft shell face fabric? Is layering underneath (fleeces) and over it (shell) uncomfortable?
I’m fairly certain the Atom Heavy is warmer in every way. I wouldn’t say layering underneath in uncomfortable, it’s regular fit so it can take most layers. Just the putting on part is the biggest con as the liner grabs onto everything.
I love my beta recut jacket! Wish they would make more models with the recut treatment. 🙏
What is that?
Thanks for the review
what size is the jacket you are wearing and what are your body measurements, height and weight. thank you in advance
I'm almost always wearing size L, 184cm and 94kg, 42" Chest.
Super underrated jacket
Great Video, helped me a lot for choosing a winter jacket for the german winter. It beeing very warm is nice, because Im always freezing my ass off while standing around. Have a great day guys.
Much of this no longer makes sense. I love Arcteryx products, but the way they flip-flop around with their naming system is ridiculous! FL doesn’t exist anymore. Then LT becomes “Lightweight”, then back to LT, and sometimes both at the same time for the same shell. Then there’s the Beta jacket, for example, that has no letter designation at all. FL, SL, LT, AR, SV all used to make sense. Arcteryx should stick to a system and stop f$(king around.
They all mean the same thing for me: too expensive for my broke ass
You can frequently find them on sale!
I just ordered one. Model 2022. €476 euro because of a discount. Is it worth it or i should buy another model for that price?
Sounds like a decent deal, I would keep it and enjoy it!
What do you think about the Proton Heavyweight?
Too warm for the coastal climate for Vancouver, I imagine it to be usable actively around -10c.
I wore the proton heavyweight snowboarding in Vancouver and was way too hot
WELCOME BACK! Glad to see your channel active again
Hey, thanks!
Was thinking you had stopped posting
Emergency to Arc'tyrex means you can only afford this model because you just got laid off...
Mann i love you thanks so much
Appreciate the sarcasm which helps to keep our Arc overspend on the nice but unnecessary in check.
Hi what's your height and what's your Betta size
Size large, 6 foot.
Get rid of that annoying lounge music. Or pick a different song.
I wonder if the designer was like "magnets in the flap," and the executives were like, "cool bag, but we can save $5 / unit in manufacturing if we skip the magnets."
Totally! Bag is still plenty water-resistant with exposed zips though.
Can you make a video to compare this and beta down insulated jacket?
For most people the Beta Insulated will be the better choice. I had a Beta Down briefly and still prefer the synthetic.
Have they changed the zeta line to gamma
The Zeta line has been discontinued…
Very informative, thank you. I’m still probably going with the Patagonia Triolet for rugged canoe tripping.
Glad it was helpful!
If you could only have one arcteryx jacket what would it be? I’m looking for a durable everyday jacket that could also be used for skiing 4 times a year.
Sounds like a Beta AR, the jack of all trades!
I got this jacket recently. I retuned it as it made me look like I had a pot belly and my abdomen is flat. Ver disappointing as it was a sick jacket.
I want one now.
