  • The Node Down is Veilance's warmest down jacket offering, it features a 3-layer Gore-Tex construction packed with 850 fil European Goose Down. It is lightweight, regular fit, hip length, and an absolute furnace in mild winter climates.
    *Apologies for the poor audio quality as my new mic turned out to be an absolute potato even after testing...

    I own one and love it! The only thing I notice is that when it’s not zipped up all the way the one side of the collar sticks straight up and hits the chin. Maybe mine is still new and stiffer?

    Have owned a Monitor Down and currently own Node Down Coat and I can offer some insight as to their warmth.
    The MD is fairly warm in the core but offers little to no warmth in the legs. The fabric doesn’t really protect from wind either as the fish tail and front slit basically let all the wind in. If used for really severe cold (-10C or less), I would want to be wearing insulated pants. This parka really prioritizes style over warmth.
    The Node Coat is noticeably warmer. Just went for a walk today in -12C (felt like -19C) with only a t-shirt underneath and was nice and warm. It has the length of the Therme so covers your butt, thighs and junk well enough that you can get away with just wearing regular pants. Not as good looking as the MD but warmer and a lot more functional with all the extra pockets.
    All Veilance jackets/coats I’ve tried have necks that are too wide and let wind in.

      I'm in Toronto Canada. Therme vs Node? If the therme can keep me warm I'd love to save 700$

      @@Sportyman310 The Node Down coat was unfortunately discontinued after one season. The only one they sell now is the jacket. It is noticeably warmer in the core than the Therme, however it is cut too short in my opinion for such a warm jacket. I would suggest you get the Therme and save the money. Just size it so you can layer a warm sweater under and it should take you through Toronto winters without issue.

      @@Bielawg Appreciate the response big time. Will move forward with the Therme. Take care!

    does the bottom has a elastic band to adjust the tightness? My concern is the bottom being too loose since I have a small waist and wider frame. Thank you for the review, really answer most of my questions.

      there are no hem adjusters on this jacket, the powder skirt feature is meant to fill the missing gaps to help you seal out the wind

    How’s the sizing in your opinion? I’m about 6’1 and 155-160 pounds usually a size medium in everything Arc makes. New to the Veilance stuff- I think you sold me on this though :) absolutely gorgeous.

      Sizing is TTS, it is quite roomy for extra layering underneath, I’m a size L throughout arc/veilance and I’d rather have some room, since it is a bomber style look anyways

    Would this jacket benefit from having the same gore-Tex as the monitor ?

    • @abearsmind
      @abearsmind  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean goretex pro? honestly goretex pro is overkill for 90% of users, probably closer to 99% for your Veilance user.
