The image quality has me stunned! Especially around 2:12 when you are sitting down. I can tell this is even better than the FX6. But it lacks reliable autofocus, which I need. It's too bad because these are so cheap now.
@@CringePanda What have I done?😶Once you swallow the big camera pill there is no going back.🫣 Congratulations on your new camera. The F55 is a camera I have never used but I am very curious about it. I like that your first sony is a big one.. 😀Good luck!
Thanks so much for your video. I have a question, I am looking to shoot some A footage but will need auto focus as the there will be a lot of run and shoot type images. Is there anyway to make this camera work ? Any autofocus that we can add with a lens while still keeping the cost down? Thanks!
@@AHFV-u3c Use it with a good Sony lens. Preferably a video lens like the pz 18-105 or similar. Stop down the lens ass much as you can and it should preform ok.
Hey I’m considering the fs7 ii for solo documentary filming work (talking heads, b-roll, the standard stuff). Is it worth it for £1500? How’s the battery life? I’m coming from using an A1 so I’m aware there may be a bit of a drop there somewhere. Would I need another mount in order to use my e mount lenses such as the Sony gmaster 24-70? I need some good advice 😊
Its the same mount, however fs7 has a 1.5 crop. So you need wider lenses than your A1 for the same field of view. The battery life is very good. (3hour with bpu60)From what i seen i think the fs7 will be a slight step up in image quality. It has a little more softer and filmic look than the smaller cameras. And you get big xlr and all the other video camera functions.
@@Josefx3m thank you for the quick reply is there some sort of adaptor I could add to my lense to get the same field of view? Budget is so important so I will most likely just go for it
I must admit the Sony XD motor lenses might perform better. I only have the 20m f1.8 g to compare but it’s AF is a lot better then any of my native Sony e - tamron/sigma lenses
It’s pretty useless in my experience 😂. I’ve done a small amount of talking head bits with AF and it loses me all the time. I really wish it had more controls over how it works, like you said. I am comparing it to the a7s3 and the a7r3, so maybe I’m a bit spoilt
Yo! What will be the main purpose of the camera? I will do a picture test with both of them soon. Will post it. I would only consider the fs7 if you can find it for a good price if you dont do “broadcast environment” gigs. I got my two for same price as one fx30. And that was good for me because I do 2 camera setups a lot.
@@Josefx3m My primary use will be live steam on youtube, filming TH-cam or for clients and even some live stream for hybrid events ( I’m a live sound engineer) I have a deal on my local add, a fs7, the viewer, back with time code, multiple batteries, 128’ and 64 Gb card, charger. For 2500CND. A FX30 is 3450$
@@GuillaumeLortie, I watched one of your videos. Meet a lot of sound guys when I work. Excellent to see it from the other side! The Fs7 is will be great for live-stream events. But I do think the fx30 Is a better youtube camera. It can be plugged with USB-c into the computer for streams. that's nice. Autofocus is excellent and is easier to operate yourself. However, if you get a great deal on that fs7, take it. It's a workhorse and you will probably find good use for it. I would also consider the A74. The price is as low as it gets for a new generation Sony. You get compatibility with all the good full-frame lenses. Especially for going wide for vlogs. Its also a good stills camera and the Evf is good for outdoor filming. Its just more for the money in my opinion.

hi josef, have you ever used the FS7 with a zoom-lens? (for example SELP28135G)? Any issues with back-focus there?
No i use it all the time. I own two of them. 👌
Thanks for the insight.

I think the fs7 is the best bang for buck working mans camera today. If you dont like it. Pass it on to someone else. It will not loose more value.

@@earlduncan3736 Unfortunaty not when using E-mount lenses. Thats the draw back. I eventually bought a fx9 and that was one of the reasons.
good honest review. I knew sony was far from the autofocus leader it is today so its interesting to see how it compared to the c200.
Great review thanks

Haha its pretty bad indeed.😅 I bought a fx9 for when I need good autofocus. But still, better then none at all.
Looks great

I'm curently debating on a used FS7 VS a FX30
what do you think ?
