I've got a colt doing the same thing
556 or 308?
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems 308
@@vrg69 Gotcha! Yeah I would definitely start with increasing your buffer weight and buffer spring weight, and reevaluate. If you’re still having issues add an adjustable gas block like a RifleSpeed or a Superlative Arms bleed-off adjustable gas block! Good luck and thanks for watching!
@SabertoothDefenseSystems there all hand loads not max loads either done pulled all rounds apart once and reloading them checking 3 rounds at a time back up to original charge and it will pop a primer 1 out of 5 to 10 rounds
@@vrg69 also I have a follow up video on my channel about the PA-10 and the aftermath of me changing those parts out! If you have the chance I recommend you check it out!
I just bought the Para model. I pick it up in 10 days! (california compliant)
Nice! Hope you like it! It’s a great rifle!
Put that green bag under your stock and your groups will shrink to an inch.
Much has been learned since the filming of this video and hate to say that even bagged the groups did indeed not shrink to under an inch. Later swapped barrels to a Faxon 18” Gunner barrel and got the tightest group of 1.3” but never an inch or sub
Thanks for posting this review, very useful info and helpful! I find it very interesting that you had to replace the spring, buffer, and install an adjustable gas block.
Thanks for watching! For what it’s worth I’m confident the buffer spring was the wrong one installed by the previous owner. That being said I think it’s unfortunate that the adjustable gas block is an upgrade. Should be standard with how finicky LR308/AR10 platform rifles are. I love how light the gun is🤌
This is one of my oldest sons favorite pistols. He's 10 ☺️
Great choice! Lots of fun!
I've got this upper on my 300 black I think that the gas I'm getting in my face is coming out of the rear of the side charging bar. On the bottom of the bar in the rear there is a 45° cut that runs along it, I assume this is to aid with self-cleaning but I get a lot of spatter out of it it looks like someone threw mud in my face after a few mags.
Huh, I’ve never thought about that! Thanks for the heads up!
Heck of a review. It was nice to see the extent you went to, to finally break it. I baby my stuff when possible, so I'm way less concerned about it's durability now. I just ordered the green dot version for $67, tax and shipping included using the Black Friday deal and a promo code I saw on a TH-cam video description. Can't wait to slap it on my Taurus G3C T.O.R.O 9mm, that I just got for $240, from Rural King. Taurus is also running a $50 rebate on the G series of handguns until January, so I'll have a pistol and a green dot for under $300 if all goes well with the rebate. It's my first handgun, but I feel like it's going to be a pretty nice first setup for home defense and plinking. If it does end up being junk, at least I'm not out the full price.
Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. Oh yeah, I was impressed by the durability for sure. I think it’s important to remember that the quality of even budget optics rivals the quality of high end brands 20 years ago. Congrats on your first handgun! From what I’ve seen, those G2C/G3C pistols seem to be decently reliable. I think you’ve got a great thought process! Nice deal too! For what it’s worth, I’ve had a Taurus 605 revolver for almost 7 years now and I love that little gun. I carry it at church since it’s small and conceals super well under my jacket. I like my Taurus products for what they are! You’ll find out by training with it whether you can rely on it or not.
“But this one goes to eleven!”
Lol
How does it feel sitting in the car with hard plates?
So it’s all dependent on two things: 1 Your vest, and 2 the backers you have for it. If I ran only plates without any sort of plate backer I’m sure it wouldn’t be super comfortable, but because I use 3A armor as a backer for the plates it’s much softer. The Thorax has great padding itself so with the carrier padding and the 3A, it’s comfortable. Still takes getting used to but honestly after a few days your body aclimates. I’ve been rolling around in my car with plates now for just under 5 years. Still better on your body than everything on your hips in my opinion
Whats the name of the song
You started out saying you got the PSA GEN 3 PA-10 because you didn't have a lot of money to put into this rifle. You got the rifle for under$1000. Then you go through all of these upgrades. I looked up most of the components you added or upgraded to and you just added another r$750 to the cost of the rifle. If the rifle was $900 + $750 = $1650. Why not just buy a better brand of rifle and yo still might have saved all that time and money trying to build this rifle to a working model you wanted? I ask or say this because I just ordered the complete upper and lower (cheaper that way) of a PSA AR10 Gen 3. For the rifle it's $490 + $200 = $690. But if I'm going to have to add all these upgrades to have a functioning rifle, I'm going to spend more than the price of the rifle to do that. I didn't see this many issue from other reviewers of this rifle. That's why I thought I was getting a decent rifle. I thought the "low profile 3 position click switch adjustable gas block" was supposed to fix most of overpressure issues. That's the big claim on the GEN 3s.
Valid points indeed. Initially yes, I just needed a cheap rifle to go hog hunting with my dad the year I bought it. And in that purpose alone it served its purpose. But issues were presented soon after, and I wanted to learn more about the platform and diagnose the issues myself. So yeah I did end up putting a lot of money into it, and yes it would have been better had I bought something better right off the bat. But that wasn’t the original intention and I didn’t think I’d have to, because of all the “good reviews”. The outcome was better than I wanted it, I was able to use it initially as a cheap rifle that served its purpose, learned more about the platform itself through the course of having to tune it and solve the issues I was having, which in turn has helped many people with other brand LR308 rifles (some of which are very expensive) that were exhibiting the same issues, be able to diagnose their own problems and fix their own rifle. So in short I paid for a learning experience and a comprehensive education on the platform. Initially I didn’t know I was going to be having issues based off the good reviews I saw just as you say you have seen. Also just because people aren’t posting this or talking about it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. The reality is most people don’t actually shoot their rifles or review them past about a few hundred rounds. Which in fairness I didn’t recognize issues were happening until later anyways. Lots of people have commented in this video and the follow up video of how their rifles, PSA’s included were doing the same thing. As for your question with the adjustable gas block, it is simply there to either increase or decrease gas flow to the system. In my case and in the case of many adjusting the gas block ONLY did not solve the issue as it was a timing issue that required more resistance with a heavier buffer spring and buffer. In conjunction with tuning the adjustable gas block my issues were fixed. I recommend you view the follow up video of this issue on my channel so you can see the steps that fixed it. But just so you know this isn’t an issue exclusive to PSA, even Daniel Defense rifles and other high dollar rifles can exhibit the same issues. The AR10/LR308 system is finicky to begin with. I hope your rifle works well for you. I still think for the price there is a lot of value in the PSA LR308 platform rifles. Just be prepared in case these issues occur in your rifle, but again don’t be surprised if you buy a more expensive brand and it does the same thing. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
why does it look like a second focal plane?
Because it is a second focal plane, there is an also a FFP version to my knowledge but this one is the SFP version. I show it’s a second focal plane in my unboxing video of this scope
@SabertoothDefenseSystems gotcha gotcha cause I was looking at this sight online before looking for videos and online it said FFP so I was confused and I'm sure I commented before hearing you say SFP😅😅. so I'm guessing they have both versions
@@tatatillo4314 no worries. To be completely honest I didn’t know there was a FFP version until fairly recently. I’m sure it’s comparable in terms of quality. Just curious as to how the eyebox is gonna be on that one considering the 10x on the SFP is a bit tight.
Just bought one. Your description of what to look for in loading the mags is most helpful.
Glad to be of service! Have fun! It’s a neat little gun!
I appreciate the thorough review. Just got one on sale for $82 for my dagger. Keep up the good work.
Nice! Hope it works well for ya!
Great video! What plate did you use?
Thanks! As stated in the video the Tango Down ACRO plate! Thanks for watching!
if someone is in front of you. can the see the IR light at all? can you be stealth at night with it?
If they have IR capabilities or night vision they will be able to see the illuminator. Without night vision they will not be able to see it. That being said there is a slight red tint to the ir lense when it’s being operated, but it wouldn’t be able to be seen from a distance
I'm picking up a Rogue tomorrow from my FFL. Kinda wish I had seen this before I ordered it. Oh well. I went with the 20" 6.5 with the carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Been looking for an auto in the caliber, and the reviews I saw before this one suggested the platform is very good. I guess I'll run it through it's paces and see how it goes. Nice presentation. Liked & subscribed
Hey man, I would give the 20” carbon fiber rogue a fair shake if I were you. Who knows, it could be way more accurate due to that barrel! Definitely give it a shot and let me know how it goes. It could very well be a nice rifle!
What brand charging handle do you have on this AR10 in this video? It looks like a nice design.
In this video I was using PSA’s ambidextrous AR10 charging handle. I wouldn’t recommend it actually, it broke shortly after this video was filmed. I’d spend a bit extra cash and get either a POF tomahawk or radian raptor AR10 charging handle. Or even try Aero Precision’s AR10 charging handle
Love thr intro music! Not many people know who Red is.
Ah a fellow fan! Yup it’s one of the best kept secrets in music🤌 my favorite band without question
I've had my PSA 10 6 or 8 years now. I stuck the vortex scope on that everyone said was a must. I forget exaclty what 147gr ammo it was. I was doing good for 8" at 100yds. I stuck the rifle in the corner and haven't messed with it since. I do have 6 other ammos to try. I guess I need to break it out.
Give it a try!
Has anyone found the best widely available counter-purchase cartridge for the BDC? Closest I’ve found is the Berger Classic Hunter 168 Grain on apps.
CORRECTION: In the video I misspoke when talking about the group sizes I got while performing accuracy tests with this handgun. I misspoke saying that the groups were in MOA, when I meant INCHES. Yes.. I know what MOA means and how it’s measured. Thanks for those that pointed it out🤙
MOA does not mean inches except at exactly 104 yards. A 2 MOA GROUP AT 25 yards is under 1/2 inch
Yup correct, I misspoke. Unfortunately no way for me to edit this video with the software it was edited on
So adjusting the gas block didn’t fix the issue at all??
Yes it did, but only in conjunction with adding a heavier buffer and heavier buffer spring as stated in the video
I bought a DSA FAL Cold Warrior about 8 years ago and upgraded the rear sight to a standard type and the pistol grip. She shoots about a 4 inch groups at 100 yards and I have never had any issues with the rifle. I have hit out to 600 yards with the iron sights with no problem. Once you know how to set your gas system the rifle just runs and runs. Easy to break down and clean. DSA also was very good for extra magazines as well for the parts I upgraded with and I think they do a great job keeping this rifle around for folks to enjoy.
Great points indeed. I also think they do a good job keeping the platform alive and well!
I have this upper in a lefty model and I love it
Nice! It’s definitely neat that they really thought about the lefties in all of their product lines!
I have this upper in a lefty model and I love it
🤙
Ben Avery right down the road just ordered my blem ar10 from psa
Nice!
Bro i got a pa10 on sale jusr because it was like a lil less than 600 for the rifle. I usually only mess around with red dots and magnifiers. But i wanted something on this thing so i asked me buddy at the shop and he said. Bro you want this scope. FFP and cheap compared to the others once you factor in the mount. Strapping it on today, wish me luck.
You’ll enjoy it! I got the SFP model which was before they even made this in the FFP model. That scope will do great for your rifle!
What's missing me off is I went shooting at 100 and got it to a quarter size group. Haven't been able to since. 100 yards with a .308 you should be hitting a quarter every shot at 200 a little bigger but not much. A .308 is an amazing round, this platform is making me angry as f
Definitely not a bolt action so don’t expect bolt action performance
Hi, thank your for the excellent review and sharing. I don't think that the very high cost red-dot's would fair as well with your torture treatment. I'm sold.
They would probably do just about the same, maybe a little bit better. Still, this is tough! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your well made video.
Thanks for checking it out!

First time viewer. Great review. I think Fightlite Industries needs to talk to Gibbz about an SCR collab.
I think so too! I’ve seen another video with someone showing that combo and I thought it was neat! Thanks for watching and stopping by the channel!
Nice review. Thanks.

Honest,refreshing review!
Thanks for checking it out!
This is a great review!
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
Thanks for an honest review. All other reviewers raved about it - i guess they had to if they were given the bag for free. I bought one (large) mainly for when I am going on long range trips or camping. There will always be a backup one one my hip.
I think it’s a well constructed bag, but it isn’t without criticism. The reason is 90% of the other reviewers don’t actually shoot or try to use it. They just unbox it and go, “yup, it’s the best”🙄 I think it would be great for those use cases you stated! Thanks for watching!
POF is top tier. I have the Revolution piston that’s my favorite go to rifle. Good stuff thanks for the review.
Nice! That’s a cool rifle! Thanks for watching!
Get the Wilson Combat grip module. It’s much better than stock!
I believe it! I had one for the P320 and loved it
If I get the Odin works adjustable buffer would I have to change out spring and other buffer parts?
Your have to test it out for yourself. I just tried to increase as much resistance as possible and it worked for me. Start with that, and see if you need a different spring afterwards. It’s kind of a game of trial and error
I was in the Canadian Reserve Army in the 1970s and felt very comfortable with this rifle. I fired many rounds and never had a jam, but I can't say the same for the Browning Hi-Power. We would fire on targets up to 600 yards and generally got good hits. Carrying it in the bush with extra rounds and packs was a lot of work, especially during 10-mile runs. We used to say we could shoot through brick walls with the 7.62mm. Cleaning and disassembly were straightforward, with left to right and right to left to reassemble.
Thanks for sharing and for checking out the video!
About the audio, do you apply some sort of filter? just wanted to know how it actually sounds.
Nope I don’t apply any type of filter to the audio. This is all recorded on a smart phone so the audio isn’t the best it could be to truly represent how the gun sounds
Don’t buy used, whoever you bought the gun from fucked with it, and didn’t know what he was doing. Therefore he pawned it off on you.
Yeah it was obvious the prior owner messed with it and caused it to stop. Luckily it was a simple parts swap to get it running
You’re not very knowledgeable, but enjoy the nice case you have about all you know about
Lol I bet that made you feel good😘
nice review. what was the barrel length, 18 or 20?
Thanks for checking it out. Barrel length was 20”
Magazines suck , hand many failure to feed
Definitely the weakest link of this firearm is the magazine
Very similar setup as mine except optic. As you said it's not precision built. It's light and heavy hitting. Therefore, Eotech non magnified for me. With that it holds 4" at 100 with fmj, good enough.
Good way to look at it. As a battle rifle I think this thing excels!
FAL M3 PARA... My all time favorite and the companion of my first emotions as a soldier
Thanks for watching and for sharing!
I have the POF Renegade Plus in .300 BO 10.5 inch barrel. Amazing gun all around. I still just dont understand why most of these AR manufacturers put a fricking comp on a 5.56 rifle. 5.56 does not need a comp, its literally no recoil to begin with. Why turn a loud gun even louder with these silly comps?? Like i said, i have the Renegade plus in 300 BO, and a BCM 8.5 inch 300 BO. I have never ever felt the need for a comp even on spicy 110gr Vmax. Unless you are shooting competition, there should be ZERO need for a comp on a 5.56, unless you are just silly recoil sensitive. These comps on 5.56 just bug me. Rant over
I can tell they bug you lol. I would agree that those two calibers don’t need comps. But I think you need to look at it from a value addition to the rifle/uppers for the price they command. Whether we like it or not, for value sake, more people would prefer to get a muzzle brake over an A2 birdcage flash-hider when they’re paying over $1700 for a rifle. In the onset of AR’s becoming popular around 05-08’ people would be upset when a rifle they paid in excess of $1500 had an A2 birdcage flash hider, rather than an upgraded muzzle brake or flash hider. So the brakes are usually added for the sake of value, whether needed or not. Appreciate the comment and your view!
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems Thanks for the reply. I would also like to commend you on your comments on practical accuracy. I shoot from the prone position with no rest or bags or anything. I am in the dirt with elbows on ground. If I can hit in a 6 inch circle at 50 yards with 5.56 or 300BLK, thats good enough. You are not going to have a bench rest that controls your breathing if SHTF
