I have had an M4 for over 10 years and absolutely love it. I have the same experience as you in that the recoil Is fairly light for a shotgun. Mine is an Eotech all this time, but want to change to an ACOG when funds are available. I don't like having to push a small button in a possible home defense situation. Otherwise the Eotech is perfect! When mine is clean it will shoot any ammo, light or heavy, except 3 1/2 inch shells or mini-shells. But birdshot, buckshot and slugs all thunder out of the barrel without hesitation. I alternate between this shotgun and an AR for defense duties or close range outdoors. It was very expensive, but I have never regretted the decision to buy the best! Oh, yeah! My light is an Inforce which is excellent. I have the GG&G charging handle, mag tube extension a sling and a shell holder. Mine stays loaded with Hirnady Critical Defense 00 buck for two shells followed by a slug and then more buckshot. I also have a SureFire fire grip which really helps to control the shotgun, but makes cleaning a PIA.
My M2 cycles everything except some very mild Winchester that is the lightest commercial ammo I have found. I use this really soft ammo for cowboy action shooting. I am still changing my 3 gun set up from time to time. One tip a high level shooter gave me for Benellis is to bend your thumb about 45 degrees when reloading. It really helps.
I love my m4. I was able to finally find one with the field stock and I didn’t hesitate. I could not be happier with it. I have mine set up much the same way as yours. I just don’t have a red dot. I enjoyed your video, I will subscribe. For what it’s worth, I have around $2k in mine with a 7 round tube, sling, flashlight and mount. It was nice, I somehow found mine on sale for $250 off at a local store.
Glad you like yours! I’m very impressed with this shotgun and I’m glad I picked one up! I’m not much of a shotgun guy too, so this made me want to shoot more 12ga then usual! Thanks for watching!
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems Its had the same effect on me. Honestly, once I get a bit more proficient at reloading it will probably be my go to over my DDM4V7. With slugs I can hit reliably out to 100 yards so it’s about perfect for what I need.
Amazing and really detailed review. I was wondering how often is it recommended to clean the Argo system also if the piston system itself is left uncleaned and stored for some time can rust or general issues arise to the system or parts surrounding it. Also how is the rust resistance on the barrel.
The barrel is very rust resistant. Haven’t had any signs of rusting yet. Like anything else, just make sure you clean and oil up the gun on a regular basis. But nope, haven’t had any signs of rust. As far as how often they recommend cleaning I’m not entirely sure. I do a deep clean every time I shoot anyways due to it being so easy to clean anyways!
Nice video and content! I am glad to see you come from the position of the regular guy. Not an operator or a cop, just a guy that wants good solid equipment to defend in the unlikely event that you have to. The overwhelming vast majority will never even come close to a critical incident. That's good!!!! What we do is for three reasons: Just in case. You never know. Anything can happen. I am lucky enough to have a m4 LE/Mil Benelli. It works very well and it feels like a tank! I leave guns as stock as I can as Benelli knows a thing or two about it's gun more than I. I do top mine with a Romeo 5 and it has been outstanding! Have the Esstac cards in various capacities, too! Still working on what I want to do for a light? Yep! Expensive. Quality usually is! The nicer the nice, the higher the price as they say. BTW: LE doesn't confiscate your guns in a shooting, they take them for evidence and can be returned at the conclusion of the case or by order of the court. If a $2000+ fighting shotgun saves your or your family's life just once, you are way ahead of the game. If you never see it again but lived, you are still on high ground! Go buy another one! I am a major fighting shotgun fan and they are often sold short by using them for only home defense. At reasonable and likely gunfighting distances, they are still the king of the hill! You will most certainly run out of time before you run out of ammo! Please, more fighting shotgun content!
Thanks for the detailed reply! Btw not sure if you know but I am a cop haha, but I always try to take the position of the regular guy, because that’s what matters most to me. It’s a great shotgun. But a cheaper alternative like the Beretta 1301 is a lot more sensible for a civilian shooter at the high end. Mossberg’s Maverick 88 can do 80% of the shotgun things at 10% of the price. The Benelli is built tough for crayon eating jar heads who will over use and abuse it.
Like I said, if you feel like you can do all of these things with another shotgun then go for it! I’ve heard the 1301 is a great gun too! I’d definitely love to try one! To each their own👍 Thanks for watching!
@Keith Cawvey The Benelli M4 is hands down a durable shotgun. They made it for the Jarhead crayon eaters to use and abuse 24/7 in combat at the end of lousy supply lines. But for most civilian and police applications the Beretta 1301 or the A300 is perfectly adequate and slightly superior in some respects. I mean, if you're going to be spending Spring vacation in the Ukraine an M4 is the way to go. But if not the 1301 or A300 checks the "good enough" block for long term reliability. Beretta doesn't care either way. Benelli is one of their subsidiaries!
Easily over 500 rounds of 12 gauge 00 buckshot, 5,000 rounds of 5.56 on an AR15, 2,000 rounds from an AK chambered in 7.62x39 (attached to an ultimak gas tube that is known to cook optics due to how hot they get, and over 1,000 rounds on an AR-10 in .308 win. I’ve had probably over 5 of these sights now and they’re all super reliable and haven’t died yet, even after all the abuse I put them through.
So, was the T2 comment just aimed at price? Or do the micros have issues on scatter guns? Also, only Freedom Fighter Tactical ever mentioned frequently checking the choke and the pic rail to keep them tight. Have these ever loosened up for you during or after use? Thanks, and sub'd.
Part of it is pricing but mainly durability. Lots of people say that the cheaper micros won’t hold up.. Im not talking the $30 Amazon optics but stuff like the holosuns and Romeo’s which have been well known for being very durable and reliable for the price point. So far so good with over 200ish rounds of 00 buck and slugs. Time will tell, but I’m not really concerned. And no those things have not loosened up at all! Thanks for watching!
