I have a 12.5 1200 ish downrange. Other than a hydraulic buffer it's bone stock. So far it has run like a sewing machine with zero failures. I have gotten sub moa with 168smk and 175 elr. With 147 it shoots right around 2-2.5 moa. With a Burris 1-6 areo mount sling and streamlight it weighs about 7 pounds 5 oz with out mag. It is truly amazing how little recoil it has. Originally I did have some swiping until I installed the hydraulic buffer. I absolutely love it.
Right on, thanks for sharing your experience with accuracy! Sometimes it’s just the right load that’ll do it! I love how light the gun is and when it’s tuned it shoots super smooth. POF announced the Rogue 13.75” with the dictator installed along with the dead air brake on it. I use a nomad-30 so that looks like a solid out of the box setup. Definitely gonna lose some velocity with the shorter barrel but I’m willing to try that one out. I want to give the gun another fair shake. I feel that would be the ticket hog rifle to replace my PA-10 that I modified heavily.
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems 2-3 moa ain't bad for a 7.5 " battle" pistol. Not super accurate with everything but extraordinarily effective with anything. Especially at the 150 meters or less for the 99.9 percent of my use.
@@ducatiluvr Sure, as stated in the video as a battle rifle averaging about 2 inches is just fine for that use case! Im a hunter and at least 1.5” average is what I’m looking for. I'm picking up a Rogue tomorrow from my FFL. Kinda wish I had seen this before I ordered it. Oh well. I went with the 20" 6.5 with the carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Been looking for an auto in the caliber, and the reviews I saw before this one suggested the platform is very good. I guess I'll run it through it's paces and see how it goes. Nice presentation. Hey man, I would give the 20” carbon fiber rogue a fair shake if I were you. Who knows, it could be way more accurate due to that barrel! Definitely give it a shot and let me know how it goes. It could very well be a nice rifle!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it! My goal with this channel is to provide thorough amounts of data, rather than the “reviews” of people just saying, “I like the way it looks and it shot a good group”. I detest that sort of thing. Money is much tighter nowadays so it’s only fair to get the best data possible to make a better informed decision as far as where your money goes! For what it’s worth, while I think this platform lacks in certain areas, I think for the proper application of a lightweight battle rifle or a lightweight 0-300 hunting rig, this thing really shines!
Good to see you back! Brazil send you regards. Well, after all, I think we should undestand that semi autos in general does 2 moa's groups, and that it is not bad at all. One moa or sub moa perfection is a mission to quality bold guns.
Yep I’m perfectly happy with a gas gun shooting 2MOA consistently. It is nice though when I can at least get 1.5”🤔 Yes, the bolt guns are just inherently more accurate. My Ruger American 308 shoots .75” easily and with the right load I’ve shot .49”. Thanks for tuning back in!
Thanks for posting this review, very useful info and helpful! I find it very interesting that you had to replace the spring, buffer, and install an adjustable gas block.
Thanks for watching! For what it’s worth I’m confident the buffer spring was the wrong one installed by the previous owner. That being said I think it’s unfortunate that the adjustable gas block is an upgrade. Should be standard with how finicky LR308/AR10 platform rifles are. I love how light the gun is🤌
I have a Ruger sfar and was having feeding issues after about 80 rounds on setting 2. Contacted Ruger customer service, Deborah I believe was her name, and advised of my situation. She knew immediately where I was going with this and got my mailing information and advised that the new gas block would be sent out the next day. Once I received and changed out the new gas block, along with a h3 buffer fro Odin, I have not had any problems with feeding issues on my sfar. With the heavier buffer, it is a lot easier to shoot and don’t kick like a mule. Great video.
Ruger SFAR is no comparison to the POF, especially with the Dictator. If you put them side by side the Ruger is cheaply made with cheap parts. Had mine for about a year. Stock spring and properly adjusted gas block and it's completely reliable with multiple types and weights of ammo.
I have a rogue. I have run about 1000 rounds through with no issues besides running a hollow point that got snaged during feeding. It has been a reliable rifle with for me with the standard gas block. I am adding a suppressor and a dictator gas block to run on it, and we will see if I have any changes in reliability.
Good to hear that the reliability has been good! Once I got the proper part in and adjusted the gas block this thing has been solid. How’s the accuracy been?
So you can run the dictator on the rogue - good to know! Thanks! Just got mine last week but it was manufactured in June of 2022 (not sure why it didn’t sell before I bought it but got a great deal on it)
@@cantgetright3657 Nice! Yes you certainly can run the dictator on the Rogue. As of ShotShow 2024, the Rogue 13.75” model will come standard with the dictator.. which is an excellent addition!
Thanks and is it a problem to run a suppressor on the stock fixed gasblock? I read a review where it said the fixed gas block could pose a problem for a suppressor but it didn’t elaborate why,
Mine functioned fine out of the box new. The only thing I did was replaced the buffer and spring with a Geisslle set with the proper sizes of course. Super reliable, but parts interchangeability is the biggest major issue. My accuracy is just at and sometimes bellow 1.5" at 100 yards using Federal 175gr., with 165gr it opens up to about 2.0". It's extremely finicky about the ammo weight and type, so with the twist of 1 in 8 don't bother with anything below 165gr.
@22swroberts Geissele Super 42 Rifle Length Spring 04-308-F Geissele Super 42 H3 Carbine Length Buffer You will need to contact Geissele to buy the Carbine Length H3 Buffer by itself. They did sell them separately, but now only as a kit. Or you can just stick with the default PoF buffer.
Thanks for doing a video. I have been using mine for several years now. And haven't had any problems. They have gone up a little since I bought mine. Unfortunately you are right about parts swapping. I have wanted to change mine to a 8.6 blackout. But cant find a barrel. POF said they aren't interested in that clambering. Faxton has never gotten back to me. I know that the first Q simi auto 8.6 was built on a POF Rogue. I really like the platform. The weight is great! It's super lightweight. I don't expect minute of the angle out of it. But i would really like it if POF would have better customer support for parts like barrels, barrel extensions or at least make those parts available to someone like Faxton. If anyone has insiders info to help with my project..
Agreed! It’s a very handy and lightweight rifle, which I love! I just wish it could average out to about 1.5” groups rather than averaging around 2” groups. Just to further justify the price they demand. But yes I also agree, I wish there were more accessories or aftermarket support for this rifle! And yes! Especially in 8.6 blackout! I’d love to give that caliber a whirl!
I have found the accuracy to be disappointing compared to other guys and I noticed I am also experiencing the case swipe that you mentioned. Had to move it out of state temporarily because of a gun ban but I’m hoping to get it fixed Once I am able to use it again
Yup, the accuracy isn’t where it should be considering the price. It would work fine for reasonable hunting distances, but at the price they demand it could be better: as far as the case head swipe I would start by adding the heaviest buffer weight you could. Sometimes that’s enough to slow down the cycling enough to reduce/eliminate the case head swipe
I have had my Rogue almost a year. I had a few reliability until I got the Dictator gas block. Since that time some ammo has to be adjusted on the block to function correctly. Once adjusted it has been 100 per cent! My accuracy is also in the 2’s, which is fine for me. Hornady Black is relatively cheap and is accurate and has good results in gel. I am very happy to have this lightweight .308. If I have to Bugout because I have no choice, this is the one coming with me!
I've been using Berger 185 Juggernauts and had extremely consistent results as well as my best grouping. For being a battle rifle I feel like 1moa shouldn't be an issue. I've only used mine for hogs so distance hasn't been an issue.
Very similar setup as mine except optic. As you said it's not precision built. It's light and heavy hitting. Therefore, Eotech non magnified for me. With that it holds 4" at 100 with fmj, good enough.
Great review and good shooting. I saw you went hog hunting and it's where this rifle shines. I made sure I got the 12.5" 1-8 twist for hunting with supers and some subs. Yes, there are few changes with the Rogue. The 1-10 twist was made to make the rifle more reliable supposedly. Now, POF made the Rogue 13.75" 1-10 with the dictator gas block that will pretty much fix all the issues, but now that model can't stabilize 210gr+ bullets as good.
Thanks for checking out the review! This thing really shines with 0-300 yard hunting, especially hog hunting, I think this thing is the ticket. I love the idea of the 13.75 rogue. It would be great with a suppressor, keeping the overall length down!

Absolutely, I think many are better served with the Revolution DI variant. Completely agree with you, I don’t think the small frame AR10 platforms are quite there yet. Definitely innovative though
I think all of the negatives are worth it for hunting or carrying around for long periods of time. That 6 pound rifle becomes a perfectly balanced 8.5 pound rifle with a suppressor and scope.
I wish it were as simple as that, but you can’t buy Revolution/Rouge POF barrels by themselves. They’re proprietary too so I couldn’t swap them out with an LR308 pattern barrel either. I could get a POF Revolution complete upper, but at that point you’re no longer reviewing the Rogue, you’re essentially reviewing the Revolution
I'm seeing a $140 between the Rogue and Prescott. The Prescott comes in 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor along with the dictator block. It's only a pound heavier, so I'm thinking that might be a better choice.
Honestly if it comes with the Dictator then I’d go that direction. The extra weight is most likely due to the longer barrel. Hope it works out for ya. I love the principle of the Rouge and Prescott. Would be a joy to carry on a hunt, being so light with the capability they sport!
I’ve put 380 rounds in my rogue and then the last 40 rounds I’ve had ejection issues where a casing would get stuck in ejection port just like yours did. Also just about every time I fire my gun my charging handle comes back.
@@etch2546Gotcha. Yeah man the Dictator gas block is pretty much a necessity for the gun to run reliably. POF has been at a few local range days in Phoenix and even their demo Rogue has a dictator on it. Just don’t understand why it wasn’t standard if were already paying a high price. If you can dial down the gas, your issues will most likely be remedied. Bummer though, I wish we didn’t have to pay that kind of money for something that barely functions
Recoil is like any other AR10, maybe a bit snappier due to its lightweight. Effective range is like any other 308 with a 16 inch barrel. Depends on what you want to do with it, and I can’t answer that
3 rifles I tried even before firing a round, bound right side bolt release button, 1 had to be RMA'd from store level even before a purchase, 2 others were binding pretty hard, but not as bad as 3rd. Check in the store bolt catch and release, by pulling charging handle and locking bolt with all ambi controls, then test bolt release on the right side. If it's binding, then you will have same issues as me. POF was top notch quality before owner has passed away. His children are running a company now, and they clearly don't care about QC, this was told to me by the dealer that sells this gun.
I assume after Frank died the QC of POF seems to be all over the place, which is a shame since they have very innovative and unique guns that are pretty damn quality.
this rifle has many more reviews that are super negative than positive, actually I havent seen a single review that is positive, that goes for videos and sales reviews on 3 different sites, all of them are horror stories
Yeah, unfortunately that seems to be the case. That’s one of the reasons I had to put that in the end of the video talking about how the reviews are literally all over the place and that there isn’t a great track record with this thing. Shame cuz it very well could be an excellent product. My sample was flawless after adding the dictator gas block and actually putting in the correct buffer parts lol (again mine was a used gun). But I shouldn’t have to buy a $200 upgrade to make this thing functional.

It’s my understanding that the Revolution was meant to be a light weight battle rifle and the 308 Rogue was meant to be a lightweight hunting rifle using heavier ammo. This makes sense since it has a stainless barrel and a 1/8 twist instead of a 1/0 traditionally used for 150 nato ammo.

No doubt, that’s one of my favorite hunting rounds, so thankfully it shot ok! I’ve taken a few sheep with it and it smacks them really well. They never run more than about 25 yards before they quit. Never heard of that round! I’ll have to check it out! All donations are accepted lol😉
My SFAR is100% reliable with the few types of ammo I have tried. The Federal 150 gr and 180 gr soft point and Lake City 7.62 x51 XM80C all fired great
Good to know! When did you buy yours?
I have a SFAR which I love but I'm definitely look to get this for a DMR set up
@@marcosablan is look into the 13.7” version of the rogue if I were you. Shorter barrel, but comes with a keymo compatible suppressor ready muzzle brake, and already comes with the dictator gas block installed. But honestly I might wait a bit longer, cuz at a local trade show, POF was showing off a version of the rogue with a carbon fiber barrel.. very interesting and SUPER lightweight! I don’t have any release info but I was definitely intrigued!
I wish my SFAR was reliable
I have handled and looked over the SFAR. Unlike most Rutgers, it looks cheaply made with cheap components. It is in no way in the same class as the POF.
Palmetto state armory in Summerville, South Carolina has the rogue pistols for sale ! So that’ll probably be your last chance to get one of these. Is not and will not be listed on the website. You have to physically call that store. Today is April 2, 2024.
👍
if you are at that cost point , why not go to the revolution DI that has gone through a series of iterations seems to be more sound................as you said ruger sfar is pooping itself............seems that taking on the weight and keeping the ar10 platform is the go to for now....yes you are right ruger does fix their issues, reference the mini 14....i would really like a light weight, i just am not convinced to pull the trigger
I would say so too. For hunting this shines if you keep it between 0-300 yard hunting
Have you thought about changing the barrel to a revolution barrel?
Sorry to hear all that. I’m assuming yours doesn’t have the dictator adjustable gas block, just a standard one?
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems yes sir, I bought it brand new as well. I bought mine in Prescott Valley in Arizona.
Are you shooting 150's or 168's?
This POF ROGUE 1-8 barrel hates plinker grade and ball ammo sadly.
To be honest it didn’t seem to like anything I put through it🤷🏻♂️ never got better than 1.75”MOA consistently
My POF Rogue gets 3-4MOA groups with plinker grade and 1.5moa with match and premium hunting ammo too.
what's the effective range ? and how about the recoil
Recoil is like any other AR10, maybe a bit snappier due to its lightweight. Effective range is like any other 308 with a 16 inch barrel. Depends on what you want to do with it, and I can’t answer that
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍! Thank you sir!
Thanks for watching!
LOL crazy name there for the channel
?
The name SABERTOOTHDUCK. Did you not notice the similarities
@@sabertoothduckahhhh haha, gotcha. That one went over my head obviously. I get a lot of comments so I didn’t see that! Cheers!
Ive definitely seen a shift in QC since the passing of Frank DeSomma.
I assume after Frank died the QC of POF seems to be all over the place, which is a shame since they have very innovative and unique guns that are pretty damn quality.
I completely agree. It seems that is the case, and it’s a shame.
this rifle has many more reviews that are super negative than positive, actually I havent seen a single review that is positive, that goes for videos and sales reviews on 3 different sites, all of them are horror stories
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems all the reviews I have seen are 3-4 years old, I think they have fixed the issues but have not publicly said anything about it, that makes new buyers not want to buy but also doesnt admit there was a problem in the past to previous buyers, I really want a rogue if they have fixed the issues, I am looking at SFAR and ROGUE for weight maybe the REVOLUTION but I want reliability over weight, with that being said I am looking at DDM5 v4, PSA Sabre and a few other brands that are all heavier but reliable. I so badly would like a lightweight .308 but I need this for protection and it cant be unreliable, I would rather carry a heavy reliable weapon than a unreliable feather.
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems After reading about the owners and them being for 2A and put money and energy into helping defend us in court. I also spoke to God and asked for a sign if I should get this or a Sfar as I need a rifle made by a good Godly man whos savior is Jesus Christ so my rifle will be true and keep me safe being reliable and accurate as the Lord needs it to be for putting food on the table and protecting Gods children. as I went to remove it form my cart and keep the Sfar, a bird slammed into the window as I went to remove it scaring me and i did not click the remove tab. I believe this was a sign for me to get that one.
Yeah the twist rate makes sense to me, especially if it was marketed towards hunters! Hope to find a heavier load it shoots well!
Man with a 10 twist you can run up to 200 grain bullets, so I'm not sure wth they were thinking.
POF still trying to tout the line that you need a 1-8 twist to shoot 175 and 178gr 308 is laughable.
*promosm* 😝
lol🤙
Finally a legit review for the Rogue…I recently picked one up at an estate auction ($1000 🤌🏻) haven’t been able to get to range yet but I’ve been researching like crazy and there is very little info. Several of the reviews I’ve seen aren’t great especially cause they are running cans and such. I join pof-usa fan group on FB and asked around, everyone gave it the thumbs up but we’ll see. I’d be more concerned if it wasn’t for the fact that I got it for a ridiculous deal. Should be able to get out to range soon. Thanx for the more legit in depth review, if I do have issues I’ll be sure to use the tips you gave
For what it is, I really like the gun. I just wish it was a tad more accurate with the loads I tried! That being said, there’s a ton of 308 loads out there to try. So maybe something will shoot at 1”. Otherwise the lightweight gun is a great choice for something you’ll be using on a hike or hunt. Hope it works out for ya, and glad the Review was helpful!
Don’t buy used, whoever you bought the gun from fucked with it, and didn’t know what he was doing. Therefore he pawned it off on you.
Yeah it was obvious the prior owner messed with it and caused it to stop. Luckily it was a simple parts swap to get it running
