@@worthytravels Yes, life is an adventure and being a BABY BOOMER I was fortunate to be born in a time when the quality of life was at its very best... Your parents and grandparents may have told you that when we were children, older people would tell us quite often "I wish I was your age", nobody says that anymore.... It's good to travel or at least it once was... PAN AM/TWA those were the days, when regular economy was better than first-class now... a time when you got good service and not self-service. I could go on, but it'd just make you cry... but thank you for the kind words!

I highly recommend the Clarion Hotel in Sodermalm: great rooms, amazing location (the closest metro station is less than a 2 minute walk from the hotel) and they have the most amazing breakfast! @arshadadvani8530 Thank you so much! Yes, you can get a Stockholm Travelcard for 24 hours or 72 hours. The countdown starts on the first time you use it. Also, I don’t recommend staying by the airport since it’s pretty far from the city center. Find one in Sodermalm if you can.

We went in November. As with all things weather it’s hard to predict but Oct you may see snow. It’s the start of the winter season. Ideally you’ll want it to snow before you arrive otherwise the cloud cover is going to prevent you from seeing the Northern Lights.

Wasn’t being a child in the eighties great!! As long as I was home before it got dark my parents were okay with me just roaming around! You are so lucky to have been able to do this! @khaledh3365 you're very welcome and thank you so much for the lovely comment! I'm so excited for you, especially since late November - December is a great time to visit Tromso. With regards to chasing the Northern Lights with kids in tow, I suggest three things: 1) get in touch with tour companies and see if they can accommodate children. 2) if you don't find any luck doing that, I recommend hiring a very comfortable rental car, research safe and easy places to possibly drive to where you can wait for the aurora to arrive. If you get lucky, you might not even have to go very far from Tromso to see the Northern Lights. 3) Another place you can go to with your family is Mount Storsteinen and take the cable car (fjellheisen) up there. It closes at 12 AM and that will give you plenty of time to wait for them to appear. If you need more info, watch our Tromso video.
