If you are hoping to visit a *Christmas Market* we have put together this useful guide worthytravels.com/what-you-need-to-know-when-visiting-european-christmas-markets/
I’m surprised Denise doesn’t have our Christmas decorations up already 😂 she loves Christmas! Thanks so much for your lovely comment! If you have any recommendations on unique places to visit in Greece would love to hear them. We’ve been thinking about visiting Greece again next year but want to go some different.
We’ve been to Santorini and Kos. We’d really like to go to Athens but the crowds do not excite us that much, so when we return I think we’d like to spend a few days in Athens but really spend some time exploring outside and really immersing ourselves in the culture.
When you visit Athens you could stay in Glyfada or Vouliagmeni for a couple of days. You could visit the centre of Athens early morning on Sunday for less possible crowds. Vouliagmeni is the most beautiful city near Athens and Glyfada has many restaurants and shops ( both cities by the sea). From there you either hire a car and visit small villages (ARACHOVA,DELPHI, DIMITSANA, NAFPLION) or you visit an island by boat or plane( CORFU,PAXI,ITHACA at the IONIAN SEA and MILOS, PATMOS at the AEGEAN SEA). The big island of Crete is also an option with many places to explore but if you like picturesque scenery in small places you should start with the small islands. I hope I helped you , if you need anything else feel free to ask. Penelope✈️🚢⛱️
Thank you Penelope for being so generous with your time and providing so many great ideas, this is amazing! I am definitely going to be spending the rest of the day researching the places you suggested!
Ah Vienna! Beautifully filmed and described, so thanks. We went to Vienna twice in summer and still didn't manage to see all the amazing museums etc. If you return, I'd recommend a visit to Prater where the famous Riesenrad is. I'm not one for fairgrounds but this iconic Ferris wheel appeared in the classic The Third Man movie as well as a James Bond one and others. Vienna has so much and something to appeal to everyone, a city oozing with history, culture and sheer class.
Thank you so much for your comment. You are right about the amount of things to do in Vienna. We only had limited time, so we mostly did the Christmas Markets but we can't wait to go back and spend longer there. The bus tour did go past the Ferris wheel but I think it was closed when we were there. It looked pretty incredible if not a little scary. Was there anything you did that you would highly recommend?
@@worthytravels Well of course there are so many museums to visit but the Spanish Riding School is amazing and we visited the Transport museum. Funnily enough I spoke to a guy from Vienna here in Scotland and he didn't know about it! If I can think of more I'll post but I'm sure many locals viewing the video will have much better tips than I could offer.
Oh wow the Spanish Riding School looks very cool. I don't think we had heard about that when we visited. Definitely need to go back in the summer and spend more time there. Such a beautiful place!
@@MigdaliaQuinones-p4i hi there! This was 2023. As of today (11/10), most Christmas markets haven’t opened yet. Most of them will open this week or next.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Charlotte! We are so glad you loved it. Vienna is such a beautiful place - do you have plans to go back and visit soon?
