It's an older book but "Your Money or Your Life" by Vicki Robbins and Joe Domingez is excellent. The basic premise is to help you save by realizing that every time you spend unwisely, you are stealing from yourself!! I'm now in my 60's and totally financially comfortable for retirement due to living below my means while I was earning.

Im saving for travelling, for my daughter if she ever plans expensive studies and my retirement (still in a long time but i hope i can enjoy my time then as i enjoy it now as we often go on weekends and so on )

Oh can i just tell you that BIO hazelnut chocolate is by far my Favorite! I moved to Croatian coast 6 months ago and i saw this chocolate in Kaufland. It is so flavorful 🤤🤤🤤🤤❤

One of my goals is to save enough to move cities. I am disabled and it is hard for me to get transportation. In the other town is a school I want to attend. Living closer to the school would make it possible for me to go.

Great video! I am 51 and my husband and I saved enough money to buy a house cash and pay for college for both our kids. My son has 2 years left then we will be debt free. We’re doing some home repairs and saving for retirement and hopefully travel in the future. I’m trying to teach my children to save as well. I totally agree that schools should teach more about finance. Take care

I think how you budget is great. I am curious though about one thing. You mentioned several times that you were able to save all your money when you were younger to buy your apartment without any help from your family. What was your living accommodation like at that time? Were you able to live at home with your family for free while you saved up all of your earned money? If so, it would be nice to hear you give gratitude toward your family who helped you buy your first apartment by supporting you while you saved. If you didn’t live with them, it would be nice to hear you talk about where you lived at that time of your life and what the circumstances were that allowed you to save all of your income. Buying your own apartment so young is amazing and it really inspired me. Thank you for sharing.

Loooved this video! absolutely love watching budgeting videos🥰 I usually write up my expenses each month just to see ( fixed expenses stay same anyway) as my salary comes in, pay my house, bills etc and leave money in my monzo account just for food for the month and the rest to savings. I then use my monzo credit card all month for anything else I need to buy and pay it all right before my next salary and take the amount pay from savings🙈 It has been such a good system for me to stay organised and watch my spending. Do you document or write any budget plans or track your expenses?😮 Maybe i'm just crazy😆🥰

Wow, 200€ for groceries. This is really good. I live in Switzerland and just buying food in the supermarket will always leave me being poor. Just spent about 80€ (90CHF) for some dates and veggies😢... Really excited to see more of your trip around the world!

Savings accounts: Generosity (to be able to make donations and to give my nieces and nephew money at Christmas), adventures (for hiking trip and one big family trip where we pay to bring our family), financial peace of mind (6 months expenses emergency fund), annual crap we might need fund! (For unexpected things with cats or car or sth else). It feels great to keep it simple and so aligned with our values

I LOVE this channel and agree with almost everything you share - but for American users, please don’t use rich dad poor dad as your guideline. I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi is way better (and it’s truly a minimalist approach to gaining wealth and simplicity in your finances)

I love your video very much and coming home after a longer trip on which I used so so few items and clothes I very much relate to your sentence that EVERYTHING was too much in the house! Since then I am struggeling to reduce, to sell, to give away and to refuse presents and items from my parents and friends 😅. Man it's really hard work to get there, but I know it's worth it. Bonjour, You mentioned that you don´t understand that we don´t learn how to deal with money at school. I don´t think the educational system is meant to teach everyone basic life skills, such as finances or healthy eating. You being able to teach yourself these things shows that you did, however, acquire skills, like how to teach yourself whatever you want. So your education was quite successful. 😀

J'ai un budget nourriture plutôt élevé car nous essayons de manger local et bio, mon mari ne mange que très peu de légumes donc nous achetons de la viande. I’m interested in more videos on financial advice. 😊🙋🏻‍♀️ My favorite savings goal was to save up for my husband to establish his own business while at the same time I’ve stayed at home with the kids. We really cut out any unnecessary expenses. However, I have a small monthly allowance for my personal spending (for my hobbies etc.) and I’d love to save up a small portion of it, but I always struggle to do so. It’s still a work in progress. Maybe I should try the advice of paying myself first! 😊❤

But i really feel the pressure of social media on my brain. So im trying to cut that out! Also our dream is to buy a house in the country so that is probably my biggest saving goal! 🐐

I also have an account for emergency medical situations since I had a terrible experience with my father’s sudden illness. Then one account for my leisure time like vacations, restaurants or maybe a little shopping which is not too much but still I still try to save for that. And the last one is for my job investment and future apartment. I am 37, so you are doing a wonderful job at your age☺️🌼

it is not messy, actually a quiet good and concise video. You can find many videos on financial advices, it is hard to focus on just few things. My saving goal is the private school my son is visiting. The payment is due twice per year, so at the moment I pay one installment I start saving for the second one. It is a luxury I know, but he feels very good there and learns a lot. Previous year, I spent a lot of money in the summer and when the autumn came it was very very difficult to collect the necessary amount. I had very stressful October I remember, so I promised myself it will not happen again. To sleep calm knowing that you can pay your bills is so important. Thank you, Louise. You have this natural charisma that sometimes when I hear something from you, it stays with me :). I am usually very much seduced by skincare and makeup, but after watching some of your videos, now I really wait to finish in full one product and only after that to buy a new one. ... and I started re-using the tea bags:). appreciate the numbers! I find this stuff really interesting. ~$540 per month is a very low spend, even considering no rent - well done! My questions are: 1. what happened to the apartment you bought at 21? 2. how do you get your grocery + restaurant bill so low? I can't seem to go below $400 per month just on groceries (not even counting eating out, which I only do as a treat maybe once a month) as a single person who doesn't eat a lot in NZ - everything is super expensive here! Is food cheap in France? 3. What is your travel budget like? Do you have a goal of how little you'd like to spend per day/week? 4. How do you portion out your savings amongst your three big savings goals? Does each just get a third of the amount you're saving per month? not a lot of questions at all, haha Thanks in advance!

Great video, simple and to the point!👍 Elaborating on the food budgeting would be helpful. I eat vegetarian, husband eats meat. Meat is such a huge cost, unfortunately. A week of what you typically buy, where do you buy it and do you factor in restaurants in that food cost? $200 a month is amazing! Thank you!!

Great video! Here in our state in the U.S., every high schooler is required to take a Financial Literacy class before they graduate. I homeschool my kids and have had 2 now-adult children use Dave Ramsey's "Foundations in Personal Finance" and I'm very proud they are being wise with their money so far. I even learned some things in the class too, haha. Current goal is to pay off our house, save up money, and take our family to Europe for a couple weeks because the whole family has also sacrificed things as we've worked to try to pay off our house. Thank you so much for this video! I have a question: "When you pay yourself the 10% (when your pay comes in) how do you decide what amounts to put in each of your savings accounts? My savings goals are much like yours with an emergency fund, but also for a car once my current one is no longer working for me and I have a retirement 'nest egg'. I would like to find a good way to invest some money as well!

My husband and I had to pause transfers to our fund because, right now, his mother needs his spare dollars more than we do🙂. We'll get back to it once things settle down. I have done many savings goals in my lifetime. My most special was to save to become a mother through adoption and to stay home with my children until they were in elementary school. Another was to save enough to retire early and travel the world. It is amazing what you can accomplish by persistent discipline with your finances and setting your intention. The younger you are, the better! Bravo! Great video!
