A good range of sites TBH. Element are my go-to these days; it used to be Goblin but they seemed to have problems getting pre-orders listed or allocated to them so they're just a backup now. Jadlam are an interesting one; it's those guys who I got Great Slaughter books from when almost everyone else was sold out; I think they often get overlooked as they're primarily a racing-focused toyshop rather than a classic "FLGS" shop, which is also why they don't have as much of a discount for GW items.

Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't have the space in my Apartment for it. I'm glad I found Gimdark Fleet a while ago. I printed it out in half scale and we play in cm instead of inches. I just say: "Giant (Mini) Space Battles"

There are local stores with deep discounts as the default mind - I bought mine at launch for £120 from a local shop who do 25% off everything. But yeah AoS is nowhere near as popular as 40k so we knew this would be available for a lot longer. I just quite liked the Skaven and fancied looking at the rulebook so sold my Stormcast to a friend for £50 and kept the rest. I do agree it's probably not sold great, but I suspect it's not a complete disaster for them. And to be fair you could still get copies of Leviathan a couple of months after release. Definitely not as widely available as this is, but you could get it.

I bought it and I love mine. I LOVE AOS and fantasy in general, but I think this proves that folks just love guns and power armor more. I just think 40k is just so tired, and I don't get why people love it so much.

There are places discounting it more than that. I bought my copy 3 days ago from a FLGS who were clearing theirs out at 50% off - paid £80.

IT would be very interesting to see if sales of all GW games are falling off now. 40k just doesn't have that buzz around it like it did 2-3 years ago.

the concepts behind the last couple of years of Kill Team releases have been solid and some of the more creative options GW have tried in the sci fi space recently. They feel a bit fresh compared to the ideas vacuum that is 40k. It's as if they have decided that 40k can only ever be the one thing now - a tournament game, and anything else has to go somewhere else

The quality of this cinematic is very high TBH. I'm not convinced that a single titchy turret could wreck most of a well-trained Pathfinder Team but there you go. Scions were disappointing, I was hoping for Elysian Drop Troops to be resurrected from FW's Imperial Armour Vols 3 & 4 given that their grav-chutes look at lot like those on the Scions that we saw in the previous teaser and that GW resurrected the Tauros ATV (for Enforcers in Necromunda, weirdly) they used also. Missed a trick, IMO. I'm very happy to see more Tau Auxiliaries get updated, it took them long enough, haha! I still have my metal Vespid and liked how they played in 6th edition, Stealthing in ruins and AP3ing MEqs. So on the Imperial side...meh, Tau, yes. Looking forward to seeing more Vespid properly tomorrow!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I like the wings being toned down on the sanguinary guard and wish it was carried over to the other characters as it made the sanguinor and converted characters stand out more.

I think the mini I like the least is actually the Sanguinor - so much I've already made my own kitbash of one. The other characters I really like, especially Lemartes and Astorath. DC and SG are just straight up disappointing but the bonus is I've got like 4 unbuild SG kits, 2 DC ones and a massive load of random Blood Angels stuff in my bits box so I'm just gonna swap the heads and stuff and give them a ton of bling.

The new skaven warp grinder looks like the first version of the warp cannon

I have that gigant spawn from FW its beautiful and U sir are a git. I like old spawns too and fear that new one wont be so compatibile.

#1 Looks awesome, almost like a Baphomet crossed with a Vermin Lord. Horns mark it out as deffo Skaven, even to me who isn't a WFB/AOS player. #2 Not really a fan, armour looks a bit too Nurgle. The models look great. TBH I think/hope that GW are just like "This time period uses the old rules, this time period uses the new rules but the old stuff will be updated to work with the new rules". Otherwise...WAT

I noticed when they were selling the Gen Con specials the Centurion fluff text listed it as found in PHR UCM and Remnant Fleets (instead of Resistance) Makes me think the rag tag groups are getting a rebrand maybe loosing some the orky astetic

Bought it when it first came out. Game had potential. Haven't kept up to date and was surprised with this video that it actually still exists. Deleting peoples models hmm, have they just been taken over by geedub marketing. Way to commit hobby suicide. We have more games and systems to choose from than most of us can ever collect and play. Onwards to something else for most Dropfleet folks I would bet.

At the time there was so much going on in the studio and it was hectic, all a bit crazy but the vibe was very good. Most of the artwork was commissioned after the miniatures were sculpted apart from the concept art on the Harlequins by Jez. Camo was frowned upon for Marines but acceptable on Imperial Guard...to start with. All the best, Darren Matthews

Just got into Resistance, went a little crazy and bought 2 starter sets, the Faction cards, Fleet cards, Trident, Senator, Munifex destroyers, Galileo set and Sagittarii set. Enough ships for a 1900 game when most of the people I know of in my area play 1250 games

Theres a channel called basement 1908! Hes put on some pretty massive games of dropfleet commander (he does some pretty epic size napoleonic games that are worth looking at just for the spectacle

I have trashed this game on Bolter & Chainsword a week ago and all the little GW fanboys came out of their holes to defend this abomination of a game. My entry games were Hero Quest and Space Crusade. This on the other hand is not a full game but an abortion.

Post 8th ruined 40k, event tables have never looked stupider, some armies still look okay, but the tables at vents look like an arena for paintball, it's just not in a good place.

You can see GW's approach to 40k by what they're NOT doing - cities of death, planetary onslaught rules, death from the skies, the old jungle fighting rules, fortifications/stronghold stuff, army customisation, narrative hooks in the codex to give you ideas, etc etc. There's crusade but it's not the same as being able to play a pick up game with a narrative approach. Some of the lore books like Vigilus are a great read but again, they only offer very slight mods to the existing ruleset, nothing 'extra' or out of the box. This is all made worse by how abstract the rules are and how they don't allow for or encourage fun story moments in game.

It's a fun game and so much easier to follow on the 2nd try.

If GW wants to make it so balanced that it’s purely about the skill and abilities of the players they should use fixed army lists and maybe go one step further and you are randomly assigned an army each match or switch armies and replay. That doesn’t appeal to me but nor does meta chasing and exploiting rules to win at all costs. But nobody wants to always lose, especially with high amounts of time and money spent. What makes me sad is I want to introduce 40K to younger family, painting to playing, but all the rules and changes is too much to follow. I’ll probably get a starter box and try One Page Rules. Unless anyone has any better suggestions? Really enjoyed this podcast, cheers!

At least AoS has doubled down on the high fantasy, so it's making great models for people who like that kind of thing. And Old World for people who don't (like me). 40k seems to be in a weird place at the moment. They are quite often now taking the cartoonishness and large scale of the high fantasy style models, but in the process they've lost a lot of the sci fi/military look, and lost a lot of grimdark too. I feel like they can't settle on a range-wide style that makes the whole system feel uniform, which is one of the strengths of AoS. I don't like many of the 40k models anymore, they are mostly missing the mark and Heresy feels a lot more 40k than 40k

Its worse, the CAD skeleton looks to be the loyalist legion champion from 30k, which mind you I was never keen on, something about a character thrusting their melee weapon into the ground for no reason never sits right with me.
