You couldn't have picked a worse game to go to if you wanted a large crowd. Melbourne had a crap season and they're playing an interstate state. Definitely not gonna attract 80k plus fans! Taxis suck. $45 for a 10 min drive if that?!

You got very unlucky going to a Melbourne vs GWS game. A game between two big Victorian clubs such as Carlton vs Collingwood would have a far better atmosphere, and literally 5x the fans. That game you went to literally had the lowest attendance of any game at the MCG this year

The crowd is small because the Giants are from interstate and a new team to the afl and only have a small following. You chose the wrong game to go to.

You're in Oz and we're a friendly bunch - shoulda asked the people around you to help explain the game - they'd probably have been happy to! They would also have advised you to put sauce on your pie and SR!

Just picked the wrong game mate. Melbourne would have the smallest supporter base in Melbourne. If you're ever in Australia have a look at games in Adelaide or Perth, both traditional AFL states and guareenteed a big crowd.

The hog dogs are different and the biggest thing is sugar, Australia has way less and when you are not use to it, sometimes foods feel they are more bland, but it is healthier than the US option.

Who knows, you might have seen a future NFL punter.
