We just need to get serious with a plan to address global warming. In America, economic inflation and high interest rates has put the brakes on the purchase of EV. So, raise the price of gasoline with an extra carbon tax which increases each month to remove money from an over heated economy and make the switch from ICE to EV a good long term financial decision. Use the carbon tax to fund interest on EV car loans.

You forgot to mention Registration Fees.

Axiomatically, methane, condensates or LPG gases are the only energy-dense, practical, plentiful, cheap, portable, and storable, vehicle fuels of the future. Unfortunately, politics and our stupid political class appear to do everything but promote such ubiquitous hydrocarbons.

EVs are more polluted than gas engines, they still need electricity for charging stations, and electricity generators run off the fossil fuel! EV puts the constraints on the electricity power grid where the household gets it from!

There are many good and valid reasons not to own a Tesla, considered the best EV, and only two insignificant reasons I can think of to own one; 1) being able to home charge and not spend time at the pump. But that advantage is minimal, it only costs 15 minutes a week, not at all inconvenient in my life. 2) no oil changes, but those are only once a year with my (and most modern) car.

Perhaps a niche business if EVs become common enough is shops that specialize in EV battery issues: charging issues, loss of battery capacity, accident or road damage the the battery, or "just change out the battery." The ability to provide informed estimated time and cost would be very attractive to a consumer facing the unknown.

All the biggest car manufacturers in the world are now losing money with their attempt to sell EVs. People are slowly waking up to the fact of all the EV's disadvantages, and all the lies told by the globalist (communist) controlled governments and media. The globalists' plan is very simple: They don't want ordinary people to be able to travel, just like what they did in the former Soviet Union. They don't want people to own cars. Notice also that EV's are very expensive, and the manufacturers have no intention (by orders from the globalists) to produce affordable EV's to the public. This has all been planned, and part of their plan seems also to be to bankrupt the car manufacturers so people can not buy cars. Do the CEO's of these companies care? No, because they have been threatened and bribed. As long as they are getting their millions, they don't care.

You will never really own an EV as you are reliant on the EV's software updates! There too easily damaged. Very few people can use them. The resale value is hopeless. . .

EV fanatics keep calling ICE cars 'gas guzzlers'. I just bought a Chrysler 300 with the V6 and it can get over 30 mpg on the highway. That is not a gas guzzler and I can fill it in minutes. You can insult ICE cars all you want, but there is no way I would stupidly get an EV.

Not buying the analysis of why, the car is being heavier. Really, what do Americans buy pickups, SUVs etc. They all weigh more than a Tesla model 3. One pedal driving a problem, you still have a break. There's always two pedals.

Until there is a breakthrough in our battery technology, EV can not replace ICE entirely. Hybrid or Plugin hybrid is currently the most balanced technology between EV & ICE. Lithium batteries are good for laptop & gadgets but not for transportation, because we can squeeze transistor size but not ourselves.

1. Old automakers don't know how to use new tech to built cars. 2. Old makers are locked into using union workers because when they started they abused workers. 3. Old makers are reluctant to make any changes that would reduce dividend payments 4. Old makers' answer to every suggested innovation is "that's not the way we do it". 5. Old makers drive away young workers who have new ideas, viewing them as threats.

In 80 - 100 years, oil will be over. USA are ready reached the fuel peek. And, why pay for a toxic smog bobble around your neighborhood? Oil is subsidized 9.000.000.000.000 USD. That's more than 1.000 USD for every human on earth!!! The fossil automotive industry are on social welfare, with tens of billions in 0% loans. Even uf they lose money, the bosses gets bonuses in the billions. Those companies have zero inovation. They work like a pyramide scheme, using your money. The dealers are screwing over their costumers with big markups, that drive up inflation. And their employees earn 3x more than a regular worker in the USA. The oil price are controlled by a corrupt cartel with mostly dictatorships, that buy missiles and suicide vests to kill you. You pay the bill for all this through taxes, food, clothes, homes, and all other things you need. While your children gets asthma, and you cancer and lung and heart diseases.

EVs are nothing about economics. They are physics versus delusion.

If your smart you will invest your money in a nice two year old Toyota ice.
