At 8m47 "dependance on foreign materials growing". Do they not consider petrol and diesel to be foreign material? Surely an EV charged mostly by solar reduces dramatically the need for "foreign materials"?
What do you think batteries are made of mate? Lithium, nickel and Cobalt or whatever chemistry they use, is not easy to obtain. I dont think he was referring to petrol there
For European countries, China and Japan, it absolutely makes sense to go electric strategically, considering that they heavily rely on imported oil. China resolved the cost issue of EVs and now EVs are so competitive with ICE cars there. European brands should become more efficient and find solutions to reduce the price of their expensive EVs.
Many ev here r marketed to save on fuel cost... but these german ev cost a fortune.. battery replacement cost will kill u.. there goes main advantage.. Now y else will a consumer take.. for fun.. He'll no... h miss that grunt of powerful engines.. this silent vehicle is just refined but no thrill to drive... Forget environment concerns... lithium extraction itself is so damaging... Then decreasing range, capacity is a big NO no to ev... These Germans must have built strong hybrid and not go full ev.. brain dead leaders running company bound to collapse
