Went to Athens Delphi and severalnislands in 80s with pile of old money you couldnt spend it all! Unfortunately memory has gone as have most photos. Skiathos Skopelos and Cephalonia were a paradise. Do you think I could travel on 925 gbp.per month inc a hostel dorm bed? I was in Iceland for a layover back home to USA and was shocked it was $16 for a slice of pizza. I told them you can get a slice of pizza in Boston or NYC for $1 to $3 max.

It is possible to find deals for reduced or waived Solo supplement. I went on a small (very) ship cruise to Alaska last Aug on Alaskan Dream Cruises, and a Windstar Med cruise this Jan that had zero addl cost, in fact the Windstar was heavily discounted as I booked rather last minute and they had empty cabins.

I really love your honest reviews and depictions of places. I was in Rome around the same time as you, and honestly felt very much aligned with my own feelings about the place - so I know now I can really trust your take on places now! I travel alone mostly, so important to see how the solo travel experience is. Also trying to work up to the solo cruise experience, your channel is definitely helping in that grand plan. Loved this series of the cheapest flights - keep up the great content!

My cruise from NYC to Europe on Apr 29th Norwegian Getaway was both good and bad. My first cruise most passengers were professional cruisers. Ship was very crowded and weather kept us inside the majority of Atlantic crossing. Tours were cut short because of delays. I ended up canx tours because of this. Majority of Passengers were older people and that caused delays boarding and leaving the ship. I enjoyed the cruise but I have no desire to ever do another transatlantic. Maybe an Alaskan Cruise some time. I was surprised I didn't get seasick. Enjoy your cruise Ben.

Ok let me answer the casino question. I sat with a solo traveler at dinner a few weeks ago and she said she never pays for her cruises because Casinos at Sea contact her to offer her free cruises. I flat out asked how much does she gamble to receive this perk. She was very proud to tell me she spends at least $2000.00 per cruise….at least. Yes, it was everything I could do bite my tongue and not say “oh so you paid more than me then”. Yes, just look for a deal and buy it. Don’t become a huge gambler just to try to get free cruises. Trust me, the cruise line is not in the business of giving away “free” cruises.

Ben we had lots of solo travelers join us for the 5:00 pm meeting and dinners, so you can join the activities for sure. I am not sure you can get into the solo lounge in off times.

I loved this video! My mom was just in Rome after an awful cruise on the Norwegian Epic. She told me about things she saw but didn’t take any photos. She was disappointed in her trip so we are discussing going in 2026 so she can have a do over and Katura and I can actually see Rome, too!

13:58 I'd not say it's useless! As a Swiss I learnt Italian on a medium level, but Spanish and Italian are not that different, so I'd say I understand like 50 to 60% percent of spanish every day communication.

Copenhagen is my choice of the 5 cities however it is often cold and wet!!! It is also expensive...

We were on this voyage at the same time as you but we boarded in Miami so this was our last of 22 days. We've done 20 cruises but this was our first with MSC and it was one of our very favourites. Beautiful ship, excellent service and pretty good food.

Loved the series, my favourite place is Copenhagen, while there you missed out on going to see the little mermaid statue

Loved the series! The only thing I would have liked to see more is what you ate in each country. I enjoy learning about different cuisine.

Think I won’t bother with Vienna. Budapest looks way more interesting. The Vienna Stadtpark looked like a dangerous place.… in Copenhagen the botanical gardens are wonderful. As an aside: I think in Canada you might like old Montreal and Quebec city. Great series.(we learn French)
