Love all the steps on the elephant trail. And it's great that they put railings up for people. I noticed that there are many elderly people who enjoy the trails and parks in Asia.
Hi, Ben! Happy New Year! 🍀 Back to watching your videos. So happy you finally got to visit Taiwan. Been to the southern part twice this year and just overnight in Taipei. What you heard is the Hokkien language, also one of the languages in Southern Fujian. More than half (70%?) of the Taiwanese have roots in Fujian. Hence, their shared language (though with Taiwanese Hokkien has its nuances). My paternal grandparents were from Fujian. I hope you can visit other parts of Taiwan as well but in the meantime enjoy and safe travels on the places in your Asian line up. 😊
@ lol. Never a dull moment! I have a question for you. If you can’t answer here because it’ll give away your itinerary, you may mail me. Lmk if you need my email. Question: please tell me a couple of places that are on your ultimate bucket list. The ones that you’ll have to save for or get a sponsor.
Good morning, Ben ! Taipei means the "north" of Taiwan. The flag you saw used to be the flag of Chiang Kai-sheik and the flag of China before communists took over in 1949. You have great leg strength and walked well after Thailand. Enjoy !
You made it through Elephant Mountain and its beautiful scenery that you shared with the viewers. I do hope you enjoyed Taipei, Taiwan as you stayed at the time of this video.
Hi Ben, if I remember correctly, in taiwanese they do not pronounce Ps, instead they use Bs. They say Taibei instead of Taipei, is this correct? Taiwan was my first international trip ever for a company, it was an adventure of a lifetime! My trip there was over 40 years ago, so I don't recconize any of the buildings in this vlog. Have a great time! Taiwan is the largest exporter of granite in the world. 👍😁
@@TravelWithBen121 Are you kidding, you are the best soap opera ever, I HAVE to see the next adventure, it is an addiction now! LOL You do a great job Ben, I hope others will find your vlogs real soon my friend.
Hooray! I finally caught up! Such great videos. You mentioned 6 different countries on the cruise. Will you be visiting any that you never have before? Thanks, Ben! I appreciate you!
The steps coming down from that park were crazy! On all your hikes and walking around cities, have you ever twisted your ankle or taken a bad fall that caused you a big problem on a trip?
Ah-maze-ing video. You looked so tired after the last video and yet you did all that walking in this video. Good for you taking the steps. Most people I know are always looking for a ride! I admire your ease with the new surroundings. I think I prefer Taipei over Thailand because right now it looks more city than beach-y. Thanks Ben!
There’s actually two aspects to people being well versed in English besides academia. A lot of foreign business either established in Taiwan or abroad. In 80s/90s studying abroad was the envy of many. With the influence of HK, many locals also pickup English names. It’s a fad. In the 90s Japanese POP was very popular. Right now it’s KPOP. And you be surprised if you try speaking Korean. Taiwanese business people even food stalls are very keen. If you are potential customer I’ll learn your language. You might not see that anywhere else.
@ 😀Allow me to elaborate on that. Back in the days when HK movies and music dominated. Local celebrities started picking up English names like Andy and Jacky. So we used to joke there were a lot of Andy and Jacky in the industry. This practice then spread among the people.
You don’t need to Lear the written words. When I travel to a country that I don’t understand the language, I always use google translate camera. Or google lenses.
1:30 I saw the business department of China Construction Bank. This bank is from mainland China, haha.....I’ve been watching your videos for a long time, why hasn’t your girlfriend appeared? Are you planning to settle in London in the future?
Ben is welcome to come and play, but please take care of your health and disappear for a while when you need to sleep! Your health is more important, just explain it! Although our health insurance and medical system can be used, we still want you to stay healthy. Nurses are beautiful, but I personally don't like to become a regular customer. I'm sure Ben has probably looked up the information that this is an area of high economic power in Taiwan, the physical conditions are relatively good, and the safety of the mountain area has increased compared to a few decades ago (without the experience of the natives who have gone abroad just now). Please have fun, whenever you are there, in Taiwan! We have the ability to protect you and keep you safe, thanks for your hard work!
