'Air Asia' is a Malaysian-owned low cost carrier. They don't come with free food and drinks. You either have to pre-order them or buy them with cash in-flight. You gotta make sure you have a full tummy before you board your flight if you don't want to order anything on board. Likewise, if you need to, you can buy your baggage allowance unless you are just carrying your back pack with less than 7kg weight. Also, you can pre-order your food at the time you booked your flight or within a reasonable time after booking your ticket. You need to check this with AA. Welcome back to Asia, Ben ! You always produce top quality videos. Always so relaxing watching them.
We loved Bangkok! Of course, having a daughter in law who navigated us through the airport and her mother who took us to see all the sights made things easier! Your videos demonstrate your complete lack of fear of getting out of your comfort zone! I’m looking forward to seeing your experiences in Thailand as your own guide!
@@paulknowles8469 that always helps, Paul! Nothing to be fearful about, I’m just taking the train, it’s not sky diving 😂 being out of your comfort zone is good for you! Sometimes 😂
I'm so impressed by the ease with which you use public transportation no matter where you are. It would totally intimidate me. I don't even know how to use the bus service in my town!
It’s also acceptable to drink on the Shinkansen early in the morning 😊. On an early morning ride on the Shinkansen a Japanese businessman who was sitting next to me asked me if it was ok for him to drink his beer. I told him it was ok I just wished that he had an extra one to share.
You absolutely have a Guardian Angel that does a great job except for getting you food on time! You should have your own comedy travel TV show called "Around the Ben", LOL, you are such a trooper! I would like to hear what you say after you turn off the camera.
I'm ama,ed at your adventurous spirit...3 trains, three tickets.. no food...and I know you walked miles and you called that a relaxing day!!! Can't wait to see what happens in your next video! Enjoy Bangkok!
Ben, good morning, you have stepped into the land of happiness. Everything is cheaper but almost better ! Nice beaches, nice weather, nice seafood, good and reasonable hotels, lots of fresh fruits and friendly folks. People care less about races or nationalities. Have fun, stay a few days longer and walk and enjoy. I have been here too many times to count ! Envy you now !
I'm really not a fan of Bangkok, too hot, too busy, too loud. I did find it much easier to get around by taxi or Grab rather than by public transport though. They really are very cheap, too. Enjoy!
@@andybaker2456 by the end of my time in Bangkok, I 100% agree with you Andy 😂 of course I could have taken a taxi but I like to immerse myself into the city as soon as I arrive. Taxis are boring 😂

Hi Ben! I’m just 5 minutes in and had to pop to the comments to ask about your debit card situation. I remember in a previous video you had a similar issue on another flight and once mentioned you had an American debit card. My Bank of America debit card has a Visa logo which makes it usable wherever Visa is accepted-but it’s not a traditional credit card. My kids are 13 and 15 and they were able to use their debit cards in Europe this past summer because the merchants accepted Visa. Does your American (or other country’s) debit card not have this capability? If you’re able to secure this kind of debit card, it could mean less hassles for you during your travels-unless the airlines are strictly anti-debit regardless?
@@JenniferJenkins-n2h you’re totally right Jennifer because I have Bank of America too and when I handed him the card, he said ‘this card says debit card so you can’t use it’. I said swipe it and see because I think it will work as a credit card too but he wouldn’t even swipe it 😂
