BIRTH CONTROL?! WHO THE F USES BIRTH CONTROL ONLY A LOSER USE THAT
Im leaving January 28
i just enlisted in the us army as an 88k ... im 41 i leave to basic training february 11 i turn 42 december 28 ,,, soo i just enlisted at 41 but ill start my journey being 42 !!! im as exited as if i was 20 !!! it's never too late ... age its just a number 🫡
Absolutely right! I'd rather have a motivated 40 year old than a 20 year old that doesn't care. Best of luck.
I want to be someone my team can depend on but one of my biggest weaknesses is folding and tying things. I already know I'm gonna get screamed at for not understanding the knots. Hopefully it won't be a problem.
They're not hard and after boot camp it's optional. I still boot camp fold my shirts and jackets but it's not required. They go step by step.
Gold award is girl scout only. Eagle Scout is boy scouts. My son went in as E3. He is an Eagle scout and had 4 years in jrotc.
Thank you for this video. I was trying to go into the airforce but it did not work out due to me not meeting the hearing standards at meps. My recruiter referred me to someone in the navy and I've started the process there. I was really interested in the airforces cyber jobs, it's what I want to do later on in my life as well. Thank you for sharing the story about walking away, that will give me the confidence to say no if I don't like what I see. I have been in the process for awhile now because I've got a bad procrastination habit, but I think it's time I finally change my life for the better, because I know I can be more than I am now. As for questions, what exactly does "rate" mean? I've seen it in a few videos but never heard it during my air force process or at meps.
Officially, "rate" is what paygrade you are, and "rating" is what job you have. However people say "rank" for what paygrade they are and "rate" for what job they have. It's a mistake that happens every day and leads to a lot of confusion when looking at paperwork but long story short rate basically means rank and rating basically means MOS or your job.
Someone I knew, in 1978, told moi, tu/vous can enter basic training, as an E-2 if tu/vous snookers 2 people into joining the Navy.
Curious I’m 41 now I know the military is 41 once enlisted and if you go in as a reserve it’s 42. I guess apparently they made some changes. Now I my case what is the weight requirement because I’ve been seeing army fat camp on TH-cam? O I’m in Corpus Christi, Texas
Yeah if you can't pass the physical standards you'll be held back in training. They might put you on an exercise bike or just send you home. In the fleet you end up in "fat camp" which the navy calls FEP. It's basically mandatory PT. The navy is gonna measure your waist to see if it's good, they don't just go by weight because someone can be 215 pounds of muscle and someone else can be 215 pounds of fat and have a giant belly.
But what about my car ?
I doubt that'll fit in the cardboard box they give you. Joking aside, you fly in and if you live really close to RTC they'll just get a duty driver to get you there. I didn't get on a plane I just rode with another recruit in a van driven by an old guy to O'Hare.
@@HaedenBeckbut what about after ? Bootcamp is what I mean , can I go back for my car or ?
@@seaburgh3184 What do you need a car for? At RTC there's no driving and from there after a few hours of liberty you get on a plane and fly across the country to your A school, unless your A school is at Great Lakes. From there, you're getting on another plane to your first command, which is most likely a ship or foreign country. If you're going from your first command to your second command you can do a packout and make the transportation of your car part of your luggage being moved and the navy pays for it but I don't think that's possible from boot camp to A school. It might be possible from A school to your first command. I've gone my entire career so far without a car and it's been 3 years.
I ship on January 7th got the rate I wanted ITS/ATF and after a school will I go straight to e4 I heard you will have to rank up to e3 since I will be going as e1 and get e2 after bootcamp and for the pay it says around 2k is that per month or ever other week
Turbocrows can still happen, aka getting E4 really fast, including just for graduating A-school like with nukes. I don't know off the top of my head if that's one of the ratings that gets auto E4. I will say as an E2 I pulled about $850 every 2 weeks. I got $1,500 a check in Bahrain but that's a tax free zone and has a bunch of bonuses and stuff so it's not really fair to compare. Here I get like $1,200 every 2 weeks as an E-4. I did a breakdown of a military paycheck video if you're interested.
In the pictures of the recruits in the galley I’ve noticed that some guys are bald and some still hair. Is that a choice or all the guys can decide to go full bald or not ?
You're shaved bald no matter what when you get there, but after that you grow your hair back and it's cut into military style haircuts. After you graduate you control your own hair again, as long as it's in regs.
They need to give you an allowance for a cut my guy 💈
Hey MA Beck, just wanted to say I signed my contract and will be in Great Lakes in a month. I didn’t get the rate I wanted, however I’m just glad to be accepted. Your videos have helped a lot, thank you!
You're welcome, glad I could help!
My son got a decent score on his asvab and went in as an ET. He got no bonus whatsoever.
You can just ask and see if there's one available and they'll look. Some recruiters might not care they just push the papers across the desk and move onto the next person. It's a special experience to each of us signing up but for them it's just another day and another 30 people or whatever passing over their desk. ET is a good rating, I wish him the best!
Heres a little rant and hopefully what will soon be a testimony. I live in half a trailer, my family was never the wealthiest, but back in 2019 my dad lost his job and that set us frorm middle class all the way to the low of lows... and this year i lost my mother to cancer... worst part is my family isint even citizen... we are permanent residents which means we get less jobs and opportunities... i was born in cuba and they came here when i was only 3 hoping for a betterr future... im currently 19 turning 20 soon and i thank God hes placed the navy in my sights... i got a 88 on practice asvab and 45 on the actual test (anxiety kicked my ass) good news is i secured a LS job... i want to be LSS for sub... so i can support my family so they dont have to live on a damm trailer anymore... It's 4 siblings, including myslef. im oldest, and its only my dad...providing for us, i have to secure this no matter what... i was hoping for any advice for me... im doing what i can to study and learn before i get to bootcamp!
You are exactly the kind of person this channel is aimed at, to help. If you're accepted into the military, it will completely reset your life and none of this stuff will be as bad as it is now. It's such a dramatic seismic shift that for a while I felt like I was living someone else's life because everything around me that I hated and worried about and was sad about was a distant memory like it never happened and nobody knew or cared about any of it. Which is a good thing. I don't really have a lot to say beyond what is already covered in 92 videos but I wish you the best of luck and hope you pave a better future for yourself and your family! God bless.
@HaedenBeck thank you, this channel is a blessing, 🙏
I kind of wish I hadn’t watched all the boot camp videos hahaha
It all helps, watching the 'making a sailor' thing 10 times prepared me for RTC. But if I went in knowing nothing I would have still gotten through, although it would have been tougher.
@ I just don’t want to know about the shots hahahahahahha fml
what if i have 4 years of air force jrotc but want to go to the navy will it still count?
nevermind i didn’t watch the video long enough lol
There was an air force jrotc guy in my boot camp division, yeah they'll recognize it and give you E-3.
Life saver!
I’ve been in this toxic workplace for almost a year now and can’t wait for navy boot camp. Thanks for posting this as a reminder.
Absolutely!
Nobody would ever have my account
Are you still in?
Yes
Can you use personal plate carriers/gear for duty as an MA?? Or can you only strictly use the navy’s issued gear?
You can add some patches and pouches but nothing crazy. You have to use their vest and cannot customize weaponry of course since the weapons are checked out and back into the armory every day.
I’m trying to make MA1 here.. been in the navy for a little under 4 years and already an MA2. Am I going too fast ???
If you're already an MA2 you're not going too fast you're just that good, so keep going.
Im going goin there. Is this the barracks for petty officers or students?
This is the barracks room someone E-1 through E-4 can expect. Active duty.
Hey! Master at arms is what im seriously considering.
It's a good job, but what's best for you can only be decided by you. I can answer questions for my rating if you have any.
really glad you shared your story man
I got disqualified for master at arms and nuke for silly reasons, finally swore in as a GM. Im actually happy it worked out this way. I actually tried to leave a comment on this video before but I guess it didn't stick. Your videos and replies have been very helpful to me the last few months, and when I first saw this short it came at just the right time, right after I got back from meps and was feeling a bit melancholy. Thank you for your service and your content.
Absolutely, and congrats!
@@HaedenBeck Thank you!
My son just left today to Chicago, what advice do you have for a mother that’s been crying 😢 the whole day my heart is broken. Can I write to him every week? How often are they allowed to receive mail? 💔
There's no need to worry ma'am, your son is in good hands and is forging a new future over there. The true sign of correct parenting is when the child can leave and be on their own and clearly you've done a good job for your son to leave and take the world on like this. It's not a goodbye, it's a see you later. You can write letters all the time, he will give you the address to send mail to soon. They receive mail relatively frequently but the process is slow, so the mail he reads might have been sent a while back but at least he got it. Just don't send a bunch of stuff that will get confiscated like food and drinks and stuff. Stay strong!
@ thank you 🙏🏻 and God bless you 🙏🏻♥️
What if you have an associates degree and bring someone in with one of those ratings?
You'll join as an E-3.
I leave for boot camp tomorrow, the 13th. All of your videos, including this one, definitely helped provide a better idea of what I'm to expect for my journey within these 10 next weeks. Thank you for the information, and I'll see you all next year.
Best of luck! You'll look back and say it was easy and fun.
27th this month HOOORAAHHH
i graduated from rtc on september 19th and they let us use our phones to call our folks but it gets collected right after and they are only given out for phone calls
This was posted right before that policy was implemented.
DYOR the most important advice of all
Would they throw away my tiny 16in suitcase or let me keep it for A school
It has to fit in the ditty box.
Thank you! ❤
Leaving for boot camp on November 27🎉
Good luck!
I used to call my RDMC as MC Smith .. but the chillest MC on my entire command had to be the CMC .. at least mine was dope and willing to chat once a week for 30min & even gave me his personal email to keep in touch with & use as a work reference once I left. I sometimes miss it but grateful for the experience. MA2Beck I see you putting the smurfs on game . Hooyah !
This helps because I sew my husband’s patches on his uniforms. Ty for the informational video
Absolutely
I leave in 18 days. Thank you for the info
No problem!
I just swore in been watching your whole channel to get prepared 😭
Hope I helped!
how often do you shower for week while training? every day or less?
Every day
When you point at your rank tab and say MA3 arent you a Petty Officer Third class? I’m not in the navy I’m going to MEPS next week and trying to learn. I thought just people you work with call you MA3 name everyone else would call you petty officer name am I way off?
For boot camp you call people petty officer but after that while you are indeed a petty officer if you're like an E-5 you don't say it anymore, you just say like MA2 or YN2 or whichever rate and rating they are. MA3 and Master at arms third class or petty officer third class all mean the same thing, but you only say MA3 or MA2 after you graduate boot camp.
@ what if you don’t know what someone’s job is?
@@VikingZeroReviews Don't do it until you get to a real command but I just talk to them like anyone else and say hey man or hey boss, hey dude...even if they're a second class.
Does the navy have a "fat camp" like the army?
There's a program called FEP where you do extra exercises on a schedule if you can't pass the annual fitness test.
I just wanted to stop by and say your suits go absolutely hard, those fits are tough
Hehe thanks
Great way of explaining your past! I wouldn’t say I been through anything as traumatic, but for some reason I have been a bum (NOT HOLDING A JOB AT ALL)for the past few years since I been out of high school, I have ruined so many good job opportunities. I’m 21 years young and decided to join the navy to try and grow up and change my life and mindset for my 2 year old son. Your videos have helped me learn so much! To prepare me for the next chapter…
If this is the path you choose I hope it really works out. It saved my life, I don't know where I would be without it. I've had some good days and bad days but I don't ever regret joining the Navy. Best of luck to you and your son.
So you voted for Kamala?
I felt very strongly in favor of one candidate over the other but since that isn't what this channel is about and would cause half the viewers to be upset regardless of whichever of the two I look like I endorse it's better to just stay neutral on here
Salutes then cries in eagle.
