    Hi Rob, I was watching your videos on EBC trek and came across this equipment review. I’m off to EBC in March and am looking for a waterproof jacket. Would you recommend the Paramo one on this video for EBC? Thanks! Ed

    • @RobsAdventures
      @RobsAdventures ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ed, thanks for watching. If I’m right, I think March is relatively dry around Basecamp so fingers crossed you won’t need a waterproof. One thing about the paramo is it’s quite warm so if you’re walking in it you may get a sweat on. I took my Mountain Equipment Lhotse jacket but it never came out of my bag fortunately. Both the paramo and ME jackets are quite expensive if you’re not going to use it any other time. If I could recommend any for an absolute downpour where you’re going to be walking in it for hours then the Lhotse would be my go to jacket but even that will wet out eventually. Hope that helps a bit. Thanks again for watching. All the best Rob

      Thanks. There were 12 in our group plus two leaders and three Sherpas. The cost without flights was £1800. This included all accommodation including time in Kathmandu. All meals at the tea houses included too. Look up Hayley Webb Mountain Adventures on Google or Facebook and drop her a message. She’ll be doing the trip again this year although I think it might have increased in price like everything has over the last 12 months. She’s awesome though and definitely worth the money.

      Not at all. There were 12 in our group plus Sherpas but for the most part of the trek we just saw the odd couple of trekkers. When we reached Basecamp, we had it to ourselves. I think if you went at the height of the season it may be crowded but we were back end of the season so much quieter, even in the tea houses.
