Oh my, my weak knees...you sure did an excellent job seeing it through! Not for me, but sure looks like you both had an excellent adventure. And those views, although maybe you didn't look... lol Sure glad someone can do this and share it so well to those of us who only dream, or have nightmares, of! Take care and hope you are enjoying a wonderful week! Bruce and Otis
Hey there, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It was great fun and the height didn’t worry me to be honest. Mainly because we had safety ropes on. Not sure I’d be so confident without them. Take care and thanks again for watching. Rob 😊👍
Yeah that’s definitely on the list. Especially now they have a zip line. Really want to go to Italy now and do it properly too. Once Covid settles down I’ll definitely do it. Cheers for watching Dave ATB Rob
It is superb such a buzz my daughter and i did the via Ferrata in honester last year a great day out 👍 we kinda used it as a trainer session for the Alps which we hope to go this year (via Ferrata route) noticed your going to Everest 🏔 will look forward to seeing that 👍 subbed ATB Simon 🙏🏼
Hi Simon, thanks for watching and I really appreciate the sub. Yeah Everest Basecamp should be awesome although I’ve no idea how I will edit that down to a sensible length video. Off up to Scotland in a few weeks on a winter skills course so hoping to put a video to whether for that. Keeping everything crossed for lots of snow. Thanks again Rob
@@RobsAdventures sound good Rob! I guess it’s the caingorm’s for the winters course? So snow will be plentiful 🏔👍 as for me the Alps will be high summer so snow on the tops only 🙏🏼 fugue there is enough new stuff to deal with without the added challenge of too much snow pack! All the best with Scotland 👍 best wish Simon 👍🙏🏼🏔
@@SetForAdventures yep Cairngorms it is. Was supposed to be last year but due to covid, it was postponed for 12 months. Alps sounds awesome. Definitely on my to do list.
Slightly different video to my usual offering. No wild camping or hiking!! Just for a change, me and Daz, (who you may recognise from my last video) headed up to The Lakes to have a go at Via Ferrata Xtreme at Honister Slate Mine. It's only a short one briefly documenting our day out and experience. If you aren't familiar with what Via Ferrata is, roughly translated from Italian it means 'Iron Path'. For a brief history of Via Ferrata, follow this link simplysavoie.com/a-brief-history-of-via-ferrata/ Basically it's a way of climbing up and around cliffs using built in iron steps whilst remaining clipped to a safety line. It's probably easier to watch the video than for me to try and explain it. You'll see from the video that it's pretty high up but it was a great experience with some stunning views. For this activity we used Hayley Webb Mountain adventures and I can't speak highly enough of Hayley. She has a wealth of knowledge on all things outdoors and is really friendly. She also likes to have a good laugh and there was plenty of banter going on all day. Hayley runs a massive range of activities and I'll be travelling to Nepal with her in 2022 to trek to Everest Basecamp which is going to be epic. I'm also booked on a Winter Skills Course which was due to take place in 2020 but due to the pandemic was postponed. So basically most of my salary is going straight to Hayley!! Check out Hayley's website here - hayleywebbmountainadventures.com/ I hope you enjoy this video despite it being slightly different. As always, feel free to ask me any questions. Looks quite hair raising Rob. Well done for completing it. Looks like you both had a great time too. The views at the top seemed to make it all worthwhile too. At least you were the tweedle-dees and not the tweedle-dumbs 😆
Hi Rob, That climb looked brilliant a great film, as you say different but very enjoyable. I’m going to watch it again later. I have been to the Honister slate mines a few years ago, I had intended to do the climb but have never been back there. Is it a hard climb? I’m not as fit as I used to be. Also is it expensive to do the climb? I’m sure it is a great day out, on a dry day. Great film, take care, regards, Chris.
Hi Chris, thanks as always for watching. I don’t think the climb is that hard. Having said that, I have a good level of fitness but the group we were with were mixed fitness levels and you never get rushed around. So if you’re slower than others it really doesn’t matter. I think the price is around £50 bu I thought it was worth it. Glad you enjoyed the film. I didn’t get as much useable footage as I’d like so it’s not as good as my usual videos but I still quite like it. Thanks again Rob
@@RobsAdventures Hi Rob, thanks for the information. I would like to have a go at that and it’s affordable. I look forward to your next adventure, cheers, regards, Chris.
This looks so much fun! I'm hoping to do it later in the summer when I visit the lakes. You got some great shots too! Did you have someone taking your photo as you went round? 😊
Hi Katie, cheers for watching. Yeah it was great fun and you should definitely do it. As we did it with Hayley Webb Mountain Adventures she was taking quite a few pics on the way around and I took a few with my GoPro. Make sure you get booked on and use Hayley if possible as she’s great fun and definitely adds to the experience.
Did a few Klettersteig routes in the German Alps a few years ago. They are fun and exhilarating. But so confused by them! Part thinks they are ace and make the mountains very accessible, part of me hates the idea of bolting lots of metal into the stone.
I definitely want to have a go in The Dolomites after doing this one but having seen some of the videos of how insanely high it is, I’ll definitely need a couple of Valium to calm my nerves ha ha. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Really appreciate it. Thanks Rob

Been wanting to do this for a while, looks real fun and a bit of a challenge as well. Superb views over Buttermere as well. Cheers Alan
Thanks for watching mate. Yep, it’s great fun and highly recommended. Get booked on ASAP 👍

Very nice, I was walking around there on Saturday and think we saw a group going over there. Looks fun
It really is great fun and highly recommended. Thanks for watching Oli. Really appreciate it.

Brilliant fun 😎👍. You should try the inside climb too. I did that first, then the extreme outside the same day 😎
Yeah that’s definitely on the list. Especially now they have a zip line.
Really want to go to Italy now and do it properly too. Once Covid settles down I’ll definitely do it.
