Well we’re officially dormant now! But I’ll probably put a video out in the next week or two over that. Then we’ll be close to spring down here! Very short off period lol
In New Braunfels, my yard didn’t go dormant untill the first part of January after the 2 sub 20 degree nights a few weeks ago. It's now in the 70s again for a few days. The lawn has been getting some good rain.
C’mon Insider! Figure out those small dirt mounds for us… I have it too and looks like worm or insect burrows but can’t seem to find answer or know if they cause problems later…
I like the level lawn. I live in Georgetown and my yard is not level. I tried using bags of sand and soil to fill the cracks during the summer but my yard is in need of a good leveling. I wonder if leveling is an annual event here in central Texas?
Depending on the severity of the uneven lawn it could take several seasons to level. Once leveled it will be an ongoing maintenance item to maintain the level. This is a project I'll be doing this season.
I had a cement job in the back yard ruin a lot of my yard so I over seeded rye so the HOA wouldn’t try to make me fix it heading into fall/winter. A lot of mine is still not dormant. Honestly looks terrible because of how thin the rye is
Howdy- you are in New Braunfels right? Soil temps just hit 55 degrees... When are you putting down the prodiamine? I'm putting in down tomorrow and I'm in San Antonio- I was late to the party last year going off the calendar rather than the soil temps. I assume this is your next video but just wondering!! Thank you sir
Perfect timing, I was this close from commenting on your last video two days ago with this question! I wanted to know if there was a granular winter weed killer that you recommend. I know you like to use liquid herbicides but I'm a lot more lazier than you lol. Thanks man!
Us up North are bored stiff. We count on you Southerners to keep us going until spring hits! Thanks for the video....

Insane to see your lawn that green! My lawn here in North TX has been dormant for 2+ months.
I'm in the same area but still have areas of green. This freeze will definitely knock it out though.
Same, getting a little weed pressure along my front sidewalk (clovers) but typical DFW winter grass dormancy.

It’s about time. We’ve been waiting so long!!!! 😊
Looks fantastic Rhett!

Mine too and I live in Georgetown as well. I wish I could invest the money into it but it’s not in the cards for me right now

@@RickWilsonLawnCare hope it goes well! Post some videos on your channel
Starting to heat up!!! Let’s get that prem down!!!
Wow impressive!!!
Your lawn looks fantastic, especially for it being January! What type of Bermuda do you have?

Ready for dormancy! Still cutting here in corpus
What you feed that with before going into the winter? Amazing yours still green whereas your neighbors look dormant.
Still looks amazing. Will you be using the yard mastery products this year?
What preemergent do you recommend? When do you put it down? We are in seguin.
I normally use Prodiamine. I’ll put it out anywhere between Valentine’s Day and March 1st.
@@LawnInsider where can i Find it? Thank you

I'm doing mine today because of the coming rain.
I'll be doing my application of prodiamine this weekend and I'm up in DFW. You'll likely want to do another application in April.

Spectracide weed stop for lawns and Image. They’re both hose in sprayers but super worth using. Image kills POA.
Thanks for the video! So have you gotten any rain since that dry spell or all irrigation?
Quite a bit of it actually! We’ve had a pretty wet late fall and winter so far.
I also have those dirt mounds. Not sure, it’s my 1st season 😂
Dirt mounds. Could just be that particular area is higher than the surrounding area and your mower is cutting off more grass right there.
