Nice little patch that Matt. Been on my LT35(think you saw the blue roll hanging out of the sill) replacing some fibre glass that someone had used to cover three holes. Ran out of mig wire but have sealed them all now. More to follow, much like your self…

God job and very entertaining, i would recommend to customer changing that oil every 6 months for 2 or 3 years just to clean that engine, if they plan on keeping it, get that sump cleaned too.. great job

Was out working on my LT35 last week(photos on Insta) started out sunny then as I was about to start welding I could see bad weather approaching in the distance. Set up everything and ‘cracked on’ ten minutes later started raining.. looked up at the sky it was still blue.. conscious every two or three seconds I was getting hit by the rain. In the end I only ‘packed up’ once and although I had a damp bit of cardboard to lie on I got two holes welded up. Would have done the third but ran out of mig wire. Rain didn’t stop play I was lucky that it looked worse than it actually was. Hoping to get the last hole done next time I’m home.. and the grass cut, and the broken limb on the beech tree that fell off last summer cut up, my Freelander transfer box rebuilt and turbo removed, assessed, … and a few other things. Top tip. Best not weld outside when it’s raining. That’s not my usual behaviour…

Hi 2 question can you take pump off without removing the sump? Also whats a good warm tick over oil pressure. Im getting 20psi at tick over and about 60psi at 70mph in 5th.

Hi Matt. FYI, That pitting WILL gradually turn back into rust in a couple of years, even after you've converted it with the best converter on the market (Dinitrol RC900). It is absolutely essential that you treat it with cavity wax after conversion. Choose any clear, beige, brown or any viscosity of Dinitrol cavity wax. ML, for example, is perfect for that application.

Well done I have a VR5 and need to do the same job, thank God for your sensible and easy approach, I'll be copying. If it's any help the little hoses for the fuel evaporative system get new ones and install them I recently did mine and fuel economy has massively improved from one point one litres per hour at idle hot to point seven let alone storming up a favorite hill was 13point 5 LP100k down to 10 at same speed n throttle. Thank you for your video.
