Personally, im not usually a gamer but this onr is an easy game i play during my commute! Plus being from where Sanrio is from, I grew up w these Sanrio characters, so I really enjoy this game! I didnt get into Animal Crossing, but this is a game i can get into!

I’ve been playing the standard version on my stream deck and I haven’t noticed really any lag? It could just be because of the hardware! I’m still pretty early on in the game, and I don’t find myself really agreeing with a lot of what you’re saying, but it’s so important to have people bringing forth what their issues are! Not everyone is going to love this game and I appreciate people saying so. I like the fact that it’s the same game as on mobile so that way more people can have access. I don’t have Apple Arcade but I do have a switch and a steam deck so now I can actually play it! The big thing I do agree with you on is Retsuko. She deserves better!!!

Hey Nina, you should check out the game Enchanted Folk aka Magician’s quest Mysterious times. It’s like Harry Potter meets Animal Crossing. They released it for DS but came out with a Japanese only 3DS version that added more content.

I played it when I got a free month of apple arcade and yeah... its pretty boring

"the characters have no soul, they dont want to get to know you, the dont wanna conversation..." well this is very realistic on this social media era XD. i just started playing the original ds one and surely its enthralling

I'm a huge hello kitty fan. I have hello kitty everything. I even enjoy hello kitty racers on switch. The worst offense this game has is, it's so boring!!!! I dont enjoy playing it. I like ACNH but this is so dull.

i actually like when mobile games get turned into an actual physical title (sort of like pocket camp complete except it didnt have physical but still it is a complete game now offline) and hope more mobile games will do it in the future (genshin... pls...). its always a fear of mine that a mobile game i love will just one day shut down w/ no way to recover the game at all due to it being online. it happens more so w mobile games as those come and go so im glad companies have been turning them into something more tangible and easy to preserve better. im getting this game soon, deluxe version, and im excited for it! i agree w other criticisms like mobile gameplay and not enough platform content. still, i just love the art style so much i want to experience this game for myself and cant wait <333 great video! ty for making me consider some things before i buy :D like with fashion dreamer, i did not expect it to be a style savvy game. like with this game, i wont expect animal crossing so i wont be disappointed in any way uwu

Tbh I also think the game is overhyped. I would not even pay 40 dollars for this game. This game feels like any other free-to-play mobile game just without the micro-transactions. I was so excited to play it back in 2023 but the game just feels so soul-less, Grindy and repetitive. I know ACNL is grindy too, but unlike this game, it irradiates so much personality and it’s sooo rewarding to make any progress in you r game. However, I’ve never felt rewarded with HKIA. Your island just looks the same no matter how much effort you put in the game or how much you progress in the story. This game is nothing like a main title animal crossing. It is like a slightly better Pokcet Camp. if you have a 3Ds, I would recommend to play New Leaf instead. Way more fun.

Optimization on the switch will always be bad. It doesn't have the power it actually advertised. We'll see if the new one can actually deliver what it says.

The boutique/shop simulator in Style Savvy is the main draw for me so this one definitely wouldn't be a good fit for me, but I appreciate the very thorough breakdown of what worked and didn't about it!

Great video! I had been looking forward to this game's release for quite a while now but was extremely put off by the price tag. I view this game VERY similarly to Faefarm, where they released it with a 40-60 dollar price tag and the gameplay feels very similar. I played Faefarm for basically an entire weekend during a free trial period, but once the trial ended I didn't buy it because I could tell that while the game was addicting at the start with the snappy gameplay and quests, it would not hold any sort of longevity for me. Coincidentally I just got a new phone a week ago which came with a 3-month trial for Apple Arcade and I immediately downloaded HK Island Adventure... And I get the exact same feeling where it is very addicting at the start but will probably not hold my attention for very long once I get to the point where the gameplay loop is very shallow. I would still LOVE to buy this game for my Deck, but I'm going to wait for a steam sale... Faefarm reduced it's base price and now it goes on sale every now and then, so I'm hoping the same thing happens here. The fact that they changed absolutely nothing for the Switch/PC port despite the original having mobile game concepts baked in was very disappointing, it would have maybe been alright if there was cross-platform play but since there isn't there's no reason to retain those mechanics. Your video is probably the most fair take I've seen on the game so far, I hope enough people can hold off on buying it so it shows the devs the price is just too high for what's on offer!

i refunded it icl. it was cute and i can see its appeal, but i hate that you can run out of things to do in a day, it really limits the fun for me as someone who can’t play daily but instead has gaming days where i commit hours upon hours to my favourite games 😢

Yea the game is extremely overrated and it is NOTHING like DDV, DDV is a full actual game. This is just something to do on your phone when bored

Switch 2 can't come soon enough! Since it's confirmed it will have backwards compatibility with Switch 1 games I sold my Switch early, it looks like the same device just better replaceable I guess unlike my other older consoles I kept 😋

My main problem with it is that it's still a mobile game. If you release it on Switch you release a Switch game, that means no seasonal events and no real time restrictions, I don't want to be told when I can play and when I can't after paying that amount of money in one go. Also if you pay one month of Apple Arcade and you don't like it you just stop it but you cannot get a 40$ refund if you don't like it on Switch

It makes sense for my budget where I just buy a couple months up front. I did just buy the regular version tho. I’m happy with it and am sure I’ll get my moneys worth. Not everyone is the same. Let’s normalize everyone’s feelings being valid. 🫶🏻💗

I got to this game because I loved dress up flash games back in 2000 but I did not expect the world to be this vast! Pretty good story and really engaging gameplay. The outfits of course are the highlight.

What! Trio of Towns too busy? Duo of Towns wasn't busy enough! Boring! Trio of Towns is the bomb. Absolutely crushed it. Rolled the credits during the first week of Spring, Year 2 -- as a Layabout. Nothing beats it.
