    great video man. i have a question about the stiffer springs though. do they make the clutch pull heavier on the lever like with a cable clutch or no? this is my only hydro clutch bike ive owned.

      Hey hey. Thanks for watching!! The clutch spring both the 129’s and the Barnetts only increase the clutch feel by a little bit. I’ll tell ya this- I can still one finger pull the clutch lever. the increased pressure on the plates I’m super happy with also.

      I’m not sure in the euro 5 models. I think the ECU needs to be reconfigured to disable the abs. Look to MCE performance for further advise. They may be able To help.

    22' 701SM at just over 10k miles. Dealing with the clutch slipping, so I picked up an EBC clutch pack, Barnett springs, and the pro shift kit. Planning on using the stock shift arm spring exactly as you have. Really excited to see if it resolves these awful false neutrals. Hoping to get it in this weekend. I'll come back to report my findings.

      Hey hey. Thanks for watching-Fantastic! You should be real happy. I want to know how it goes. I Havnt had one in so long I can’t remember when it was. Prolly 4-5 months ago. I have 26 k miles to date. You will still get them but should be far less and more along the lines of any other bike. Recalibrating the shift sensor can also get you better. You won’t k ow till you install what you are doing right now. Look forward to your findings.

False neutrals were my biggest issue with this bike, so i really really appreciate all your videos and parts analysis. My only regret was not doing this swap 10k miles ago.

    Interesting video and timely. I have a 3,000 mile 701 Enduro which I have yet to take off road. It had 2,000 miles when I got it. Recently on a faster road (in the UK) I was doing around 60 mph and opened the throttle to pass a slower vehicle and discovered firstly how much power this bike actually has and secondly it’s got clutch slip up there. I don’t get it in the lower gears but in top it’s very obvious. My aim is EBC plates have but thanks on the springs, I’ll look further before choosing. Best, Ian

      0:17 Hey hey. Thanks for watching !! It is much appreciated and congrats on your new ride. These bikes are incredibly fun. Your most welcome brother. I’ve turned 26k miles on my SM recently and am using the OEM clutch pack still. Granted, I’m not wheeling this bike around like my kTM 300 smoker but I’m no snail either on the 701. I attribute the springs in increasing the life of the OEM clutch and hope this solves your problem with out needing a new pack. Even then However, you’ll love the stiffer springs either ebc or Barnett as I and others have. MotoHead 👍🏆

      I believe the Canadian 701’s are euro 4 still to my understanding. Unless the 2024’s are different. I’ll have to look into it. The easiest way to tell one from the other (4 or 5) is by looking at the dash. The euro 5 bikes allow one to disable the rear wheel abs and keep the front on, which is the basis of me purchasing the dongle for my euro 4 bike. MotoHead 👍

    I find my 2018 701 really stiff to shift up into 2nd gear. So much so that I need to select my footwear carefully to ride. I can't ride in just leather boots. Does the Pro Shift Kit make the shift up lighter?

    • @motohead5319
      @motohead5319 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey hey. Thanks for watching. Yes the pro shift kit makes shifting easier. However the hard shifting you are experiencing shouldn’t be happening imo. I had a problem with hard shifting at one point and the problem was the shift star not seated all the way. It wasn’t just from 1st to 2nd, although it was the toughest at that point, but through out the entire shift range from 2-6th gear. You may have a bent arm on the shift star or it may not be seated correctly idk for sure but worth investigating imo. MotoHead 👍

    I rarely get false neutrals, but I am curious if this would help the difficulty of getting into neutral? Seems to be easiest while moving still and from 2nd to N instead of 1st to N. Sitting still it is very difficult unless the engine is off. Experienced rider so definitely roll forward and backward a little while trying. Only at 700 miles so far so hoping it "breaks in" and goes away.

    Why this has to be done? When you install it back you have to unlock it anyway with a tool thru whole in 22mm cap

    • @motohead5319
      @motohead5319 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the aluminum threads on the cap that is screwed back in will not handle the added stress of the tension and could possibly strip the threads on the cap. I did however think along the same lines you have but through my research aluminum does not do well on aluminum. And the engine case is also aluminum 👍💪❤️ MotoHead 👍

    Hey, So I do not have this plug on the radiator on the right hand side like you do in the video and I have the 2022 model 701 (Europe Version)?? Any idea, since I already installed the larger fan now (super easy install thanks for the vid) but I am not sure where I am supposed to change the thermo switch? And, checking the radiator I see no other place where something liek this that has a plug etc...

      The plug type in the video is for a euro 4 bike and 2021 forward are euro 5 in most European countries. The US is still getting euro 4 bikes and elsewhere however. I’m not sure how you would go about controlling the fan on your bike. The dealer might be able to through the ECU but I’m not certain.
