We are Jim and De
For the last 30 something years we have been traipsing around the world.
From wilderness treks in New Zealand ,along mountain trails in South America to the back streets of Budapest.
So we thought it was about time to share some of our experiences and tips .
TH-cam seemed to be the perfect medium for us .
. so walk along with us when you can

Milford Track
We walk the world famous Milford Track. What started out as a fabulous wilderness walk turned into a challenging and sometimes hazardous track affected by terrain and weather conditions
we used Tracknet for our transport to and from Queenstown
www.tracknet.net/tracks/milford
and booked our walk trough the Department of Conservation

Why are all the statues of male pilgrims? You two walk soooo fast, I have to lie down to watch!
Ha ha We did sleep well each night
Jean is inspirational! An amazing role model.
Couldn't agree more! She was amazing 👍
Did you get the half way Compostella?
No To tell you the truth “I didn’t know there was one”
@@JimandDe I’ve watched a few vloggers get one - possibly from the church nearby.
What is the rationale for getting so many kilometres “under the belt”? Walking 30 kms day after day is remarkable - but why?
Hi Anne We had a limited time frame to walk. We always walk and to tell you the truth we are happiest when walking
You two are power walkers - but why the rush? It’s only day 7 and I need to lie down!
lol Take it at your own pace
Poor bulls running to their public slaughter.
Apparently the wine is turned on after 9am. Note to self: Sleep in? Or see the sunrise? Hmmm… choices.
Are you getting your stamps? If you’d had a rest day in Pamplona would you have felt so tired at this point? So glad you didn’t overlook the history and got to see the octagonal church.
Yep we got our stamps each day . Pamplona was great but a rest day( apart from sickness or injury) was never really in our plans The history all along the way was fabulous
@@JimandDe thanks for the reply. I’ve just discovered your vlog in 2024. Nice drone shots. I’ve heard (walking with Efren) that drones are no longer permitted on the Camino?
I’m not sure on the rules at the moment. They were very strict with large fines if you flew them in certain areas. I think there is a weight rule also in place , with drones over 250 grams not permitted
How heavy is your pack? Why such long walking days? Where do you get your energy from🙂? Nice aerial shots.
Thanks Anne Our packs were about 10 kg each We trained a fair bit before we set off
@@JimandDe Yikes! 10kg! I’m aiming for 5kg.
“Lollies” LOL so Aussie!
We loved watching your journey from Barossa Valley South Australia. I walked the Frances in 2019 and have been back 6 weeks after walking the Portuguese. Will you walk again in Spain.
Thanks for the positive feedback. Sorry for the slow reply, we have been in the goldfields prospecting ( no service) Interested to hear you walked the Portuguese way. That is also our aim in the next 12 months or so . How did you find it ?
I did the coastal with the spiritual varient had challenging days. I walked in May this year and rained every day. Not as flat as I thought I loved every minute.
Sounds fabulous Thanks And looking forward to it 👍
You guys seem to have secured the services of a drone.
Yep took a mavic pro Light and easy to use .. lots of restrictions in Spain though
Love the commentary and video, Jim and De, love your videos. What time of the year did you walk the Camino? You seem to be copping hot weather!
Thanks Jame We started 19th of August
Ultreia, allez!
Re-visiting your videos once more, even though we have two under our belt now! Still an inspiration! we are doing CF once more but in slow time in '24. ❤
So glad to hear Wow you really are “Camino veterans “ now. What is your time frame ? And are you walking from SJPD ? Either way have a good way and of course Buen Camino

Your Camino videos were just wonderful, I followed you there in 2022 and what a brilliant experience. Came across this video today and it seems by coincidence I’m following you to beautiful New Zealand.
Glad you enjoyed. Have a wonderful time in NZ it really is a most spectacular place Jim and De
Excellent footage. Which camera did you use? GoPro?
Hi Pedro Thanks No . All the hand held footage was taken on an iPhone 8 held in a Zhiyun gimbal Found it more than up to the task JimandDe
I am set to arrive on Tuesday, my first Camino, first trip abroad in 12+ years. I hope to have as spectacular views as you did, this looks phenomenal! Many thanks for the uploads
Thanks Tyler Have a fabulous Camino and please let us know your thoughts once you have finished. Buen Camino and savour every minute
Thanks for the great video!
Thanks Jon Glad you enjoyed it We appreciate your feedback Jim and De
Just finished our walk. Was fearing for the rain after watching this, and upgraded my rain gear. But we got lucky, and sun was on our side. Hats off to both of you for battling through the wet weather.
Thanks for the comment So glad the weather treated you kindly. Like most things we do the rain didn’t dampen the experience it just changed it In any weather it is still one of the most spectacular walks in the world. Well done
Congratulations Jim and Denise for this amazing adventure! Thanks for sharing your journey! In Santiago, I was teary watching the video. I will be walking The Camino from SJPP next September (2023) to Fisterra. Just loved watching your videos ! Good job! Buen Camino!

Ahhhh the beauty of my country. It never stops amazing me. I just wish people were excluded from the forests. It is people that take the beauty from it.
