Twenty seven days from St Jean Pied du Port to Santiago - now that is some going!!! It's been great watching each day of your of your journey. I might watch them all again while I'm stuck at home because of the Covid-19 restrictions. Congratulations to you both and Buen Camino to everyone who plans to walk the Camino when this crisis is all over.
@@JimandDe I will!! We got the bus to there as we didn't have time to walk. But going gave me closure and I knew for sure our walk was over as we sat and watched over the ocean!! Amazing!!!
Nice to see you get to Santiago de Compstella .... but wait there's more! Those extra 90kms are going to be a doddle for you two and is a great bonus for us late comers to your adventure. Be careful of the effect those tats have on you. Next you'll be wanting to cross some continent or other on Harleys ;-)
So happy for you guys, congrats! And thanks for showing the Pilgrim monument , I had no idea! Walk on and have fun, you two still are the cutest couple! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your videos! I am going solo on the Camino in 2 months. My gf will meet me at the end. We have watched your videos and enjoyed them immensely. The drone footage was particularly amazing. The daily hunt for breakfast was hilarious (although not for you at the time I am sure). Thanks again from Canada
Thanks Mark They do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day…LOL So glad to hear you are heading off on your Camino. Is it your first ? Have a fabulous time and savour every minute. Please tell us your thoughts after all the walking is done. Buen Camino
Well enjoy it.. always good to meet a fellow hiker and travel and apparently there is no better place than Canada for it . Buen Camino and like I said please let us know your thoughts post Camino
5 (and a half!) kisses! You made up for some of the other videos. That was emotional from beginning to end. We walked the Camino through you Jim & De. Thanks so much, we loved it. 27 days is so amazing! And, it continues....looking forward to tomorrow.
Well done you two!!! An amazing adventure and mileage! Have enjoyed being taken along with you! 'Bad Ass' tat's and all. One more step along the way you go....... xx
Good luck Our American Camino friends “ Don and Jackie “ walked the Camino Norte last month and said although quiet, the Camino and albergues were slowly returning to normal. Let us know how you get on And Buen Camino
I got emotional watching you guys arrive even though I've watched it before! What an accomplishment! I can't wait for next year when I finally get to go!
Hi Sally The Camino really is an emotional roller coaster . What month are you starting? We plan to walk the Portuguese way next September. Have a fabulous Camino and savour every moment, it passes all too quickly Buen Camino
@@JimandDe We start the Camino Frances on May 29 (after two nights in Paris and one night in SJPP). I broke up a few of the long stages and we'll take three rest days. We'll be taking a lot longer to walk it that you guys did! I was so impressed with the amount of KM's you walked! I'm thrilled you are doing the Portuguese next September! Are you going to do videos? Buen Camino!
Hi Sally That sounds fabulous We may video our trip ( this was our first attempt at social media lol) are you making a video of your trip ? (You should) We would love to know how you got on . Buen Camino
@@JimandDe you did an awesome job with the videos. I don’t think I could do it! And my husband won’t want to be on camera too much. I’ll be taking pictures and videos with my iPhone and posting in Facebook each night if i can. If I have enough footage maybe I’ll try putting it all together for one TH-cam video when I get back!
You got to Santiago just after I did, I got there on the 11th September, I did look to see if you captured any of the friends I met. Especially Denise from Idaho, Oriane from Australia etc, feel free to view mine Incase you can see any in the earlier stages ... again thanks and Buen Camino
@@TimmyTours Hi Timmy Watched the first of your videos and enjoyed it immensely .With all this spare time i will be watching the rest. Yes you were a week ahead of us . How many days did it take you ? I worked out 26 , is that correct ? if so thats amazing Buen Camino
Watched all , looked absolutely amazing, great footage and so inspirational . Hoping to go as soon as possible, and a huge thanks for all your insight, and excellent presentation 🙏
Hi Amanda So very sorry for the late reply ( we have had major internet problems ) Thanks for watching and we hope you manage to walk your Camino in the very near future.. Like you we are eager to return but only god knows when that will be possible. Till then Buen Camino and once again thanks for walking with us Jim and De
@@JimandDe yours are the absolute best TH-cam’s on this, I keep rewatching and reading your stories . I was keen to ask a few questions ....what poles did you take? What size were your packs? What time of year did you go ? Did you take a light weight sleeping bag? Any special socks/ shoes ? Did you take just phones or a camera also ( love your drone footage) We are looking at going once it’s safe, How much did your packs weigh? Any little hints would be great. Cheers , Mandy 🤗
Hi Amanda Thanks for the wonderful feedback. For us poles were an absolute must, we weren't going to take them initially but once we had taken a few training walks with them we soon realized they were invaluable. Our poles were "oz Trail" aluminum ,foldable. My pack was a Deuter 40lt and De's the same but 38lt . Mine weighed in at 10.5kg and De's 8.5kg.We set off from SJPDP on August 19th. we both took sleeping bag liners (De's was silk, apparently bed bugs can't attack you through silk). They worked just fine. We tested a number of shoes before we left. The best decision we made was to take two pairs oh and sandals. A pair of trail runners and a pair of running shoes or joggers. Again socks are important , De had a mixture of cotton and Marino wool. I found my Bamboo socks to be very comfortable. You will get blisters (that is inevitable ) so make sure you have some medical supplies with you , antiseptic spray or cream is a must to help stop blister infection. I used an iPhone XR for video De used a Samsung 9 our drone was a Mavic Air , it was small and lightweight (I love it ) Hope this helped . We have started a packing video but its nowhere near as much fun and a tad harder doing it from home If we can help in any other way please let us know. Can I also say you are doing exactly what it takes to have a successful and enjoyable Camino, it will be testing but researching before you leave is invaluable. Buen Camino Jim and De
Wow, now that was a amazing journey. Thank you for sharing this with us. We wil keep following you for the coming three days. Congratulations with this achievement. Well done you 2.
