@@JimandDe I walked on my own May 2017 went back with my wife 2018 had to stop at Castrojeriz due to requiring a knee replacement. We were all booked for 2020 then covid stopped all that. Hopefully this May if covid situation improves.
Hi Tony You really are a Camino veteran De had a knee replacement 18 months before we set off ( best thing she ever did) obviously your replacement too was a success and yes planning anything at the moment ( Camino included) is hit and miss . This summer, if the health crisis has moved away, I would like to redo the Compostela path this time by the northern route with runs along the sea... @@JimandDe Hi guys and good to hear from you. We're in the North and currently under Level 4 lockdown. The VDLP is a very different walk from the Franch Way. We walked about 350km of the French Way in 2015. The VDLP is very empty and remote. In nearly 2 months of walking we only saw about 20 other pilgrims, and this was pre-Covid! There is little infrastructure along the route and you need to carry all your water and food for some of the stages as there is literally nothing in between the overnight stops. We walked during September and October and the temperatures in Extramadura got up to the mid-40s so you need to bear that in mind. Having said that, you're probably used to that heat in WA! Despite that, we'd walk it again ina heartbeat - the remoteness and absence of other people is what makes it so enjoyable. I think that only 3% of pilgrims making it to Santiago walk the VDLP.
That was an amazing journey, one that I can only hope - one day. If would be fun to produce a bloopers video, and let us know if you did any training for this (sorry, I watched only 10 vids so far). But thank you, and I love the chemistry between you two, truly warms our 💕.
Hi Ruby We hope you can also experience the joy of the Camino. We are regular walkers and take the opportunity to do as much walking wherever we are in the world but we have never attempted such a long journey before so we trained for 6 months prior to our Camino , walking every evening with our packs and at least one 15 to 20 km walk each weekend. We are so glad you enjoyed the videos and as far as a bloopers video is concerned , I think most of them entailed me forgetting to press record or having the camera facing the wrong way. LOL Once again thanks for watching Jim and De

Hi De and Jim. I have very much enjoyed your 30 days from St Jean pied de port to Santiago onto finishers. Lorna and I did the same in 2016 and then went back in 2018 to do the Swiss, France and 50kms north of Spain. Like yourselves we very much loved it. Once COVID is out of the way we are planing to do the Portuguese Camino from Porto. Like you we live in Oz, on the sunny coast in Qld. I did the coastal with the spiritual varient had challenging days. I walked in May this year and rained every day. Not as flat as I thought I loved every minute.

Hi De and Jim. I have very much enjoyed your 30 days from St Jean pied de port to Santiago onto finishers. Lorna and I did the same in 2016 and then went back in 2018 to do the Swiss, France and 50kms north of Spain. Like yourselves we very much loved it. Once COVID is out of the way we are planing to do the Portuguese Camino from Porto. Like you we live in Oz, on the sunny coast in Qld. Where about are you in WA?Would love to meet you both one day either in your home state or ours and share our walking adventures. You both look like a fun couple. What an accomplishment! You have been a joy to watch, along with my own memories, was the discovery of your journey to “ the end of the world”. I wonder if you have any thoughts now, as to future Camino’s ( post Corona but........) or ?

We love to travel and the situation at the moment has put a halt to everyone's plans.Our next trip ( whenever that may be ) is planed for Africa but we also have it in mind to walk the Portuguese and Norte Ways and you ?

Thank Jim and De, we have walked parts of the Frances and Portuguese Camino ( about 400k ) so far, and had planned to fill in some parts we have missed. Now that all plans are up for review we may look at another route. Anyway it’s fun to follow all the videos and check out the options. Cheers Chris

Thank you for sharing this great memories with me. I'll start my Camino on May 17, 2022. Not sure, iI do the last couples of Kilometers to Fisterre. I'll see, when in Santiago. At least, I plannend 36 Days for this journey.

We loved watching your journey from Barossa Valley South Australia. I walked the Frances in 2019 and have been back 6 weeks after walking the Portuguese. Will you walk again in Spain.

How did you find it ?
I did the coastal with the spiritual varient had challenging days. I walked in May this year and rained every day. Not as flat as I thought I loved every minute.
