Most people don't buy it simply because they don't understand it. It's not good in every game, but hopefully you understand now when it's really good to get :)

Please name one. The only effects that require a Strong Dispel to remove are Stuns and Hexes. The only Hex that is considered a buff is the Pig Out! Active if Pig Pole, which isn't a main item. There are no stuns which are considered buffs

@@DivineDemonLord You're misled. Repel is dispelled by basic dispels which pierce debuff immunity. Such as Shadow Demon's Demonic Purge, Doom and Winter's Curse. There are no Strong Dispel abilities which can be cast on a enemy

Great question! His only real options unfortunately are BKB to temporarily suppress the constantly applied dispels, or get a Linken's Sphere if the enemy don't have a single target spell or item which can easily remove the spell block. Otherwise, it's kind of a case of you need to end the game before the Nullifier comes online. Typically, most core heroes don't want to get a Nullifier until at least their third major item (not including boots) so Necro has a decent time to run the map before a Nullifier might come out - but you always have to check enemy itemisation in case they might be greedy and rush a quick Nullifier (extremely rare, but it can happen) which a BKB pickup would counteract.

Would advise. Still omega OP. The 75 damage boost puts it in the top 5 items for pure damage increases. Same with the Armor gain. It's really solid

@@beneaththeveil wow thank you for replying! I saw people who said its too hard, too long to learn about nullifer. But it mostly explaining about dispel and disjoint. Iirc it old mechanic, and i think everyone already knew it 😅

@@magia136 no need to thank us, engaging with the community is the best part of all this :) Yeah it's been around for ages but it's constantly misunderstood which is why we made the video. The item has changed a tonne over the years. It used to mute items from being used as well. Was ridiculously strong.

Been spamming a bit of Phoenix lately. Fun hero, the lack of a stun outside of Egg can at times be a bit hairy though lol. Was doing the same thing to a mid NP, he wasn't happy being melted by a position 5 with just SV + Shiva's

As with many things in dota: the later the game goes the less effective they become overall, yes.

Treant Protector heals not only through Living Armor but also through Leech Seed, which with the Sapling facet allows him to provide heals and damage in a particular area rather than having to tie it to an enemy. Leveraging Spirit Vessel on a hero Treant is trying to keep alive with both Living Armor and Leech Seed heavily hinders his effectiveness at doing so.

Sometimes as a support this item can still be just what you need!

Totally agree that it's nuanced! Though if you're sitting in lane with maxed out mana you're wasting your passive mana regeneration and that's a different issue to be addressed. Something we didn't really belabour was the outplay potential that Wand gives you versus Stick. Suddenly gaining 300 HP rather than 150 HP with max charges can make the difference between a won and lost engagement. Especially in the early game when net worth and XP swings due to dying first or second are so valuable, Wand becomes very potent. You're totally right though in that sometimes the burst of mana is just what you need in order to get that last spell off in a combination to secure a kill. There's so many intricacies even in the early game

Kind of, but not always. Sometimes just building crits is better. If you're a hitter and the enemy itemize to stop you doing that: Nullifier is usually the answer (but not always)

Would encourage you to try buying stats to start in lane to secure more CS and denies and see how that treats you instead. If that itemisation is working better for you though, more power to you

It's strong with DoT sources for sure which most of these heroes have in their kit; but the reason it's popular for them is due to the way they play fights. Being constantly on the edge or weaving in and out of a fight with their spells, they're much more likely than most other heroes to build up and use multiple charges each fight. That's where the real power is, even before you start looking at the synergy of other sources like with Veil and Shiva's. Lion for example can find success with Urn and Vessel, but it's so much harder for him since most of the time once he's in, he's kind of stuck there. Veno can throw wards on the flank to slow down heroes trying to sneak into a fight in order to hold his position whereas Phoenix can use Icarus Dive to reposition if he finds himself too deep in a fight. Treant sits in the trees the whole fight and just tree walks if someone tries to go on him while Dazzle typically only pops out to save someone or Debuff someone. It's the positioning aspects of these heroes which makes them the strongest carriers for Urn and Vessel, but their spells that damage are just bonuses

We're continually surprised at how uncommon common sense seems to be ;) A shocking amount of people completely underestimate how important a small bump to certain stats drastically changes your power in the earliest stages of the game

@@beneaththeveili think a big reason for this is that people usually just follow the guides ingame, so they dont really think anything of it since if it is provided by the game there is no need to worry about it. If it says core items: stick boots, they just focus on getting this items in whatever order they have money the fastest

It's pretty nuts. With level 25 talent Nyx can apply Break on Abaddon. Combine that with some sort of disable to stop him manually casting Borrowed Time and it's game over for him. We discuss that in our upcoming video on Break :)
