when installing this dc converter i guess the overall voltage of the scotter stays intact, unlike when you connect e.g. a mobile phone on the throttle display and the voltage drops down 5 volts while charging
Yes, no impact on the scoot battery voltage. Also, the LEDs don’t consume hardly any power relative to the motors.
@@Desert-Ecruising Yes the LEDs dont consume for sure but i was thinking to connect directly to the converter a usb bluetooth led controller but i was aware that may be affect the scooter voltage performance.what do you think?
No, it will have no effect on the scoot voltage. I’ve done the exact same thing on five separate scooters now. For it to affect the scoot voltage, the load would need to be considerable current, a lot more than what the dc to dc is rated for (1 to 3 amps are what the ones I used were rated for). And even then you won’t really be pulling more than half an amp or so with that LED controller/LEDs.
I watched this video to learn how to hardwire a 4G tracker/kill switch to my 72V electric scooter, but I'm not entirely sure if I found the answer here.
I've experienced this problem on several different scooters. It's the result of melted or loose wires making intermittent contact. It happens due to long periods of full throttle especially when ambient temps are up. Or from vibration. Look at the motor phase wires and hall sensor wires. I've seen them melted to each other and also seen pins back out of the connectors. You can mount the controllers with thermal pad to the walls of the battery tray so it acts like a heatsink. Best mods I've done are twist throttle and rear shock upgrade.
I just bought my scooter I can’t get nothing to turn on.

love your videos. i’m looking to upgrade my battery. what you recommend to get. i have 60 v 35ah 6000w 1850cell i have same scooter like u
Thank you , you explained really well. I connect the controllers to the scooter successfully.
Scooter looks sick bro ❤❤
Can you share battery specs?
The one I’m using now is a LIPO (not Li-ion). 60v nominal, 35Ah, 90A continuous current and then you need to make sure the dimensions will fit in the chassis along with the controllers. Mine is 365 x 153 x 76mm. It’s a tight fit on the length but I made it fit by rearranging the controllers positions in the chassis.
@ where can I get one?
Exactly ! That was the problem...
Paint to avoid rust?
bro if you like tuning scooters and stuff. get a vesc controller i have one on my laotie. are you in vegas btw?
I’m in Mesa Az. Can you provide a link to the controllers you’re using in your Laotie? Thanks
@@Desert-Ecruising the one i use for my laotie it was discontinued but the brand is spintend
Thanks
How you doing brother long time. Hope all is well with you.
Hey bud, I’m good thanks. Hope your good too 👍
@@Desert-Ecruising all sorta kinda good, last year I'm August a new built speed bump made me fall and broke left elbow and left eye socket. Doing better a year later.
looks amazing! i am building a 72v battery for my ti30!
Thank you awesome
Hey. I was wondering if you could help me, I just got the Laotie Ti-30, and mine doesn't even reach 50 kph, and when I use the brakes, the motor brakes or EBS is causing my scooter to stop suddenly and I can't use the throttle, my dual motor makes the scooter shake and it is unusable, what could the problem be? Maybe the controller is fried? Thanks in advance
If you just got it brand new, you should contact the seller. They need to make it right if it never worked properly. If that is not an option or if everything was fine when you got it, but something happened and now it is in this state, I would suggest replacing the controllers and display with the Yunli setup. If you want to do that, I can help you out if you email me at: maikemarx@gmail.com
I have this scooter and I wanted the zero start on but must be on controller. Nobody was responding. The option is unable to change
What throttle do you have?
@@Desert-Ecruisingsame as yours. I’m using original one
@ElectricScooterMan I swapped out the stock JP controllers and throttle awhile ago and upgraded to the Yunli sinewave controller setup with the Yunli DS20 throttle. So much better than the original setup. Night and day performance difference: th-cam.com/video/s-KZCiFI850/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fY-kU5H1Qa9tJdOL
Hi, thanx for very good instructions. I have a problem and I have the same one as u a Laotie ti30-Ii 2024. I have broke that screw wich u tightend under the kik, I have a what I think a big play wich make it wobble at high speeds. Do u have a solution due this problem. Sorry for my bad English Iam from Sweden. Have a nice day Best regerads Per
I’m not sure what screw you mean. Can u send a picture to my email? maikemarx@gmail.com
Nice video ! I just replaced original turn signals with 12 v motorcycle turn signala but they aren't bright enough and they are not blinking... Do you have idea can the low voltage damage the scooter ? I think to keep them until i buy wireless like yours. Thanks in advance.
The original turn signals were powered by the full battery voltage, not 12v and the original ones had the blinker built into them. However they were big and ugly and only on the rear which is why I got rid of them. Hooking up the 12v ones you got shouldn’t hurt the scoot but I’m surprised it didn’t smoke the turn signals.
Hey man, i like ur vid! Any alternative this scooter today? Is it worth 1072 bucks?
If you can find it for $1072 it’s definitely worth it. Plan on another $200 for the Yunli controller and throttle upgrade and it will be exceptional.
Hey buddy I've got a different one mine's got three dongles two coming from the power supply I've got a lot more colors working with simple black and red to the display I'm not really sure how to bypass this It was in a flood but all the sensitive electronics were above the water level just this was below and I think it's the cause for it not turning on battery was completely removed during the slight flood
are the lights 12v or battery voltage?
The input voltage spec is stated as 10 to 80v dc. Anything in between that range is good. I’m running them off full battery voltage just like the stock ones.
@@Desert-Ecruising awesome bro! Building a laotie ti 30 from the ground up. Got the frame , a hm motor , 72v controllers and crap. Imma mention you in my video cus your such a good help to the laotie ti30 style scooters!
thank you for keeping laotie ti30 content alive !
Thanks Bro, I just off the phone with a couple of bike shops and they said they don't adjust brakes on e-scooters because of insurance issues. (The rear brakes on the H1 need adjusting) ! I was intimidated before watching your video now I think i have a shot. You are a terrific instructor so thorough and meticulous thanks again.
Hello why did you connect green with blue and opposite? At the controllers?
The JP controllers that came in mine did not have a learn function so the blue and green needed to be swapped for the motors to turn in the forward direction. It came from the factory that way. I now have the Yunli controller setup which has the learn function, so this is not necessary for those controllers.
@@Desert-Ecruising ok my friend thanks. One more question ❓ due to the fact I had an accident with ti30 now I will rebuild it. Could you tell me if you know how can I put switch with key??
@MotoTaz86 if you’re rebuilding, I highly suggest you switch over to the Yunli setup. It’s so much better than the JP. Yes, you could add a keyed switch. Email me and I’ll help you out : maikemarx@gmail.com
I bought this like 4 months ago and I'm going to install it soon as I'm getting so sick of yhe old controllers
You will be pleased. It will be like a different scoot.
does that wireing system output 12v?
I’m using a DC to DC converter that takes in the full battery voltage and outputs 12v dc.
@@Desert-Ecruising that's nice, which one ? I'll get one . I am building a ti30 frame from ground up
@laptech3767 Look on Amazon for Dc to Dc converter. Make sure the input can handle up to 70v dc and the output is 12v. Pay attention to the dimensions as well. A 1A output is plenty to run some LED strips and will be around 2 inches or so. The higher the current capability, the bigger it will be so again, 1A is plenty for LEDs and any more than that is overkill and will make the converter bigger.
Hello my scooter is 5600 watt dual motor with 60v 40 ah and I would like to connect second battery the same. Do you have anything?
Not a good idea to connect two LIPO batteries together.
Great job I see your video's But i couldn't understand where you connect the purple lel line light. On horn?
Thank you for your video. I have exactly your scooter and I been looking how to rewire my controller for a while. Luckily I found your video. Thank you 🙏🏾 thank you 🙏🏾
What was the reason for switching the yellow blue green wires?
The stock JP controllers don’t have a learn function. For the JP controllers with these specific motors, the blue and green must be swapped for the motors to spin forwards. The far better Yunli controllers I am using now have a learn function so the colors don’t matter, the controllers will learn the motors regardless of which color goes where.
Great videos mate
1:45 where can find this?? because my crashed...😢😢
Contact Ordospeed on Ali-Express. They are the factory store for the Yunli controller setup. a.aliexpress.com/_msU1O48
Heat shrinking works better than duck tape
Except I pulled the cable in about 2 minutes, with duct tape which I had. The heat shrink I have isn’t big enough for this so running out to buy heat shrink would be a waste of time and money. Even if I had it, duct tape two minutes. Wouldn’t be any quicker or easier with heat shrink.
Thanks for the video. I bought a Tifgalop t88plus that I'm pretty sure is the ti30 you have with a different name on it. It was damaged in shipping and the B controller was not communicating with the TF-100 display even after replacing the display. I found your videos and decided to buy the same controllers and DS20 display you recommended. Everything works now except the break sensors.
I think the throttle lag is in the controller settings
Replaced the MS668 with the DS20 made by Yunli for use specifically with their controllers. No more lag and performance is outstanding. th-cam.com/video/iEx_6osTHKM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wsjZ2_CopbqP8Wvb
how i change the rear motor ?
I hear squeezing in the scooter where is it coming from?
On new controllers there is a reverse cable where does it go?
I would definitely not connect up a reverse cable. Why would you ever want the motors to go in reverse? I went away from the Qiewa controllers years ago. Not sure what they’re selling now.
Hi I see you worked on the Q1 Hummer quite a bit. I am getting an error 7 and cannot figure it out. I tested the motor hall sensor and phase wires and they are good. I have a new throttle… Brake lever operation is confirmed. Was thinking mosfets in the controller?? Any help would be awesome.
Means the controller and throttle aren’t communicating. Likely a bad controller if you haven’t been messing with the wiring and since you already replaced the throttle.
Can you reset controllers?
There’s no problem where the controllers could get “locked up” so to speak, no memory etc. They either work or they don’t’. The battery however has a BMS circuit that may be resettable if you disconnect it from the controller and then connect the charger. I suppose just unplugging the controller from the battery would be the closest thing to resetting it as well.
can this setting be used for red wing scooter?
No.
@@Desert-Ecruising But the setting is also the same as this one
Then try it. Is it a dual motor 60v scooter using two JP controllers and using the MS668 throttle? If so it might be the same. I’ve never seen a redwing scooter so I really can’t say one way or the other. It usually is specific to the controllers and throttle.
Meant Yunli controllers, not JP.
@@Desert-Ecruising I think it's the same..I tried it and it worked, Thank you so much🙏🏽😊
Hy man my horn stopped working on the ti30 and puff of smoke happend from the controller and now I need new ones how do I remove the old ones I can’t finds the mounts
Do you really mean the controllers? They are inside the chassis. Do you mean the throttle? What mounts are you referring to?
@@Desert-Ecruising sorry for the confusion yes I mean the controller mounts I’m getting the sinewave controllers bc my old one made a small puff of smoke and every thing works but the head lights and horn
I think from what I can tell there is a pice adhesive but am not fully sure and do not want to brake anything
@D-rek420 yes, it’s just adhesive thermal tape holding them in. Just pull them up.
@D-rek420 also, if you’re getting the Yunli Sinewave controllers, get the kit with the Yunli DS20 throttle.
I have a sine wave foc controller dual monitor 60v45amp whole lot of orange wires I have no idea what to do after phase wire and hall sensor can see display wire can you video chat with me please maybe 10 minutes pleSe please
How do you take out the controller my made a puff a smoke and I want them out until I get new ones
Hi again, great video. My Q1 Hummer from about from about mid 2018 has now only 34.7 v on my battery pack. Unable to take a charge now. Qiewa has replied that it's too low and I should replace it at a cost of $600. Yikes. Could you tell me where you bought the 52 v battery and how much you paid? Also if you have specifics specs on it -ex: wattage, battery type 18650? Thanks.
On Ali-Baba from “Schenzhen Believe technology co. Ltd.” 52v nominal, 28Ah, 30A continuous current, XT-90 output plug, dimensions: 305*125*70mm I paid $500 a couple years ago.
@@Desert-Ecruising Thanks 👍I think the original connector is a XT60 but I'm not positive. Still trouble shooting each battery to see if I find any bad cells and then will try to charge by bypassing the BMS. Hopefully no fires 🙏. Chances are that I will have still replace the battery. Sorry, one more question: did they build your pack with a new BMS and same type 18650s?
Yes, it’s XT-60. Yes, new BMS in the new battery.
@@Desert-EcruisingThanks again!
can you help me with somehing, so i want my rear motor to run inverse, what colors should i change, cuz motor is color with color and hal sensor is also color with color, sowhat do i have to change for it to go backwards, im asking this because i rotaded the rear wheel because i want to put the brakes on the left side so i had to rotate it and now i have to change the wiring
On your phase wires, make them yellow to yellow, blue to green and green to blue (swap green and blue wires).
Olá tudo bem. Tenho um controlador queimado posso por a funcionar só com um?
No, you need two good controllers. For ultimate performance, I recommend replacing the JP controllers with the Yunli sinewave controllers paired with the Yunli DS20 throttle.
