40lb+ Carp from Untouched Canadian Lakes!
Imagine going on a fishing trip where everything you have dreamt about, actually happens. Well, back in October, together with my dad, I had the trip of a lifetime. An epic 10 days in the wild and unexplored waters of Canada, searching for giant carp. Even though we had a rocky start, we eventually got among them, and well, there was no shortage of monster sized fish.

Dale Hollow - The Mecca of Carp Fishing in North America?
มุมมอง 9K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
In 2019, before I started filming my adventures, I watched a TH-cam video by @fishwithcarl In the video, Alex went fishing with Austin, Brendan, and Brian at Dale Hollow, a place I seriously consider the Mecca of carp fishing in North America. From that day, I knew I had to fish at Dale Hollow. What I didn't know at the time is that I was to go fishing at Dale Hollow with Austin & Brian. This v...

Unfinished Business - Lake Bled Carp Fishing
มุมมอง 17Kปีที่แล้ว
In 2022 together with my very good friend Adrian I had embarked on an epic 10 day euro trip. We fished in 3 different countries with the grand finale at Lake Bled in Slovenia. Lake Bled proved to be 4 difficult days of fishing, and at the end of it we only had 2 very small carp to show for it. We were severely underprepared for what fishing Lake Bled entails. Not being mobile enough was probabl...

Awesome 🔥 I would do anything to have wild fishing like that in the uk
@@Craig-m3r3r i bet, we are a little spoiled over here :) cheers!
Superb video guys 👏👏👏
@@Blupa. thank you 🙌
I’m a U.K. carp angler … that was fantastic 👏👏👏 superb session mate a real session of a lifetime
Glad you enjoyed it mate, definately a crazy session and unreal results, cant wait to go back!
normally i dont bother commenting.........but that was one of the best videos i've seen. fantastic fish and lake, keep at it and keep catching!
@@markjenkins-s6q thanks so much!! So happy to hear you enjoyed it! Cheers
Very much enjoying your channel Paul - brings back memories of my US carping trips - haven’t fished in Canada sadly. By coincidence I fished that upstate NY lake many years ago and caught a beautiful 25lb Common from the muddy shallows opposite where you were fishing…Tight Lines ! Andy , west London UK.
Awesome to hear Andy! It is pretty wild how small the world it is, that upstate NY lake used to be a very well known and cherished water by the original Carp Angler Group anglers. Happy to hear you're enjoying the content, Im hoping to post more videos of my adventures soon! Cheers
@ spookily small world. It was meeting Pat Kerwin in Washington DC that got me involved with the CAG. This was way back when Mike Keyes and Bud Yancey were leading lights. We fished the Tidal Pond at the Potomac, great fun but exhausting due to the constant questions from rubber kneckers. We also had amazing trips to Chicago for the Chicago Bank Anglers match/social on the river by Michigan Avenue…almost as bonkers as your Central Park location. Will try to dig out photo of my fish from “Bedmire Pool” 😉
@@andyml1 Thats awesome Andy, its always interesting to hear about the adventures others had here in north america. I'm not sure well those sessions were documented, but theres some cool history there which im always interested in learning about!
Very nice place in Romania with proper chunks i really like it.
Its one of my favorite waters in Romania, still want a 20kg fish from there.
@TeamCarpFishing Is it he lake closer to Bucharest around 300km from your Hometown?Do you know if they do also a full package holiday?
@ so, the lake is very close to bucharest. They dont have full package holiday, they do however have the little cabins, easy to order food from restaurants that deliver to the peg. They have showers as well. They have friendly staff if you reach out and I'm sure most things they can help with if you're considering going! Cheers
Perfect video may i ask where you originally from Paul?
Thanks!! I was born in Romania, came to Canada 30 years ago!
@TeamCarpFishing Incantat sa te cunosc im originally from Slovakia but living in United Kingdom since 2006 i really like to visit Canada for fishing trip🙏The lake you fished with your dad looked absolutely amazing.
Perfect video pristine fish and finally the king of the beers Pilsner Urquell😄
Thanks, happy to hear you enjoyed it. As for beer, yes Pilsner Urquell is my favorite!!! Cheers
Absolutely Brilliant Video mate,... Well done... Can't wait for the Next video
Thank you mate! I can't wait to get out there again!
Brilliant footage and captures
Thank you!!! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Cheers
Fantastic session and to share it with your dad makes it even more special, I'm in the UK and carp fishing here now is very commercialised and all the lakes are very busy. Enjoy that wild fishing 👍👍
Thanks Kevin! It was truly a special trip, and we have so much water to still explore, truly spoiled!
Well done Paul with another great video and the fantastic fish you caught
Thanks Dave! It was an epic trip!
I love this Truck! 😂 very nice video my friend! 🔥
Yes, you know the truck very well! Haha
Well done, excellent video. You’re very fortunate to have such an amazing location with ‘wild’ fish on your doorstep. It’s the polar opposite of what carp fishing has become in the UK.
It is quite crazy the amount of water we have here! So much exploring to do, and the uncertainty of what the next fish will be is definitely exciting! Cheers
What a great video full of emotions and wonderful impressions in a breathtaking nature! I became aware of you through your dale hollow video, greetings from an older German carp angler
Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video! I'm actually planning to go to Germany in May for a fishing trip!
@TeamCarpFishing Do you already know which area you will be in? Good luck, fingers crossed for you
@ close to Nuremberg, we will travel also, hoping for a bit of a roadtrip!
@@TeamCarpFishing A beautiful area there! Good luck and all the best to you!
Thats a top video !! Big love from the uk🎣
Thanks William, happy to hear you enjoyed it! Cheers
What is this lake called I'm from UK would love to come and fish a few weeks 1 day in my lifetime
The system of lakes is called the Trent Severn! There are Canadian Carp Society members that would be more than happy to help you with planning a trip here!
Mega fishing, congratz on those 40's. Awesome to see those untapped places unlike the UK where that fish would of been caught 100+ times.
Yes, the untapped waters with unknown fish are very different from pegged lakes! While I do enjoy the great unknown the most, the small venues with limited but known stock are a fun challenege! Cheers!
Hello. Im curious as to where you get your tigernuts and how expensive they are?. I'm in Saskatchewan and am having trouble finding a reasonable source. Thanks in advance for your time.
Hi there Joseph, we got tigernuts before from Decathlon, they had free shipping, but unfortunately they no longer cary carp bait it seems. More recently I buy them from my chop chop, a local african store that sells them in bulk. Try reaching out and see how much it would be to ship to you, they have dried ones which is what i prefer!
@@TeamCarpFishing thank you
WoW Paul....That brings me back to the year 2000 on the St.Lawrence river landing 40s daily.
@@CanadianCarpinHolidays I heard about those times, sadly it doesnt seem to be the case anymore
Amazing video and trip of a lifetime 😉👌👍
Thank you, it was indeed a very special trip. It will be hard to beat!
Great watch. When u going back. Looking forward to the next video.
I will get back out there in the spring, Ive seen some other swims which look very promising! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Cheers
@TeamCarpFishing so different to our English carp fishing. So much adventure. Unknown fish. Unknown sizes. Not jealous at all. Been carp fishing over 40 years. My best adventures was on the river Thames. On a 21ft river cruiser. Over 10 years ago.
@@iains65 I know what you mean, I have fished some european lakes that are pegged very close together, on weekends the lakes are basically full, and the fish are so pressured. I do however do enjoy a small big fish, low stock water, its something we don't really have here.
What month was this Paul? Epic video
Happy to hear you enjoyed it. This was end of May, beginning of June!
@ Thank you. Was there last year in late July. Thinking about going start of June. But worried that it will be when they are spawning the most😅
@@carlfrederikbalslev5083 they finish spawning by June 15... thats when the protected areas open!
@@TeamCarpFishing Ah, I see. You think we’ll be having problems catching them from 10th -19th of June then?🥲
I think you will have a chance, every year is different! When the protected area opens, it is a good idea to go and fish that area as there wouldnt have been any pressure on those swims for a few months!
Appreciate all you do to share so effectively how the culture of carp fishing is so unique and that these incredible fish are something to be treasured.
Thanks! It's all about the respect and appreciation for these amazing fish we have in our waters, we truly have something special here!
Cracking video, and we'll done! Those commons were stunning!
Thanks Dave! Happy to hear you enjoyed it mate! Cheers
New to your channel since last year. What a great vlog with some stunning fish. Great to share it with your dad. I used to fish most weekends with my dad when he was alive. Keep up the great vlogs and happy new year to you both

@@TeamCarpFishing I look forward to the video bud.
Wow this was such an amazing video and congrats on the amazing fish u caught. U should contact @fishwithcarl cause y’all would make a banger vid
Great video, lovely editing. Proper fishing for no name carp
Thanks Andy, happy to hear you enjoyed it! We have so many no name carp here! LoL
Fantastic video Bud never pick the scales up by their face because it always gives a false reading for the weight
Thanks Marc, I will keep that in mind! I did weigh the fish 3 times, once with the bar, was between 48.5 and 48lb, I always round down! Cheers
Best part of the video is how funny your dad is! Lol😂 mega session dude congratulations!
Thanks, I will be sure to let him know, everytime someone mentions him in the comments I take a screenshot and send it to him!!!! Cheers 🍻
Just going through your videos pal some really good angling I fish a big lake in turkey but it's very good luck
@@waynelonsdale6325 thanks Wayne. How is the carp fishing in Turkey?
@TeamCarpFishing very hard mate as it's a food here it's hard to see an old guy catch a 40 lb on a hand line and put it in his bag and take it home for his tea, But it is what it is If you Google carp fishing on Köyceğiz lake Türkey That's me🤣🤣
Good film
🍻
Great video, what a session! Your Dad steals the show though!
He is going to be delighted to hear, a few others have also expressed how funny he was! Cheers 🍻
@@TeamCarpFishing Lot funnier than my Dad! Epic Carp there, bigger than my UK PB. I recently started visiting Thailand after watching a Fish with Carl video, can highly recommend it, the power is unreal and the sizes are mental. Had Siamese Carp to 95lb with fish to 180lb coming out while I was there for other anglers.
@@cliffdixon6422 that is awesome, definately on my bucketlist!!!
Micii sunt baza.Cel mai mare castig este ca ai petrecut atat timp cu tatal tau.
Asa este! Din pacate suntem foarte ocupati si petrecem tot mai putin timp cu parinti, dar iesirea asta a fost una de ne uitat.
Beautiful beautiful video, treasured moments never forgotten. So pleased for you, thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Simon! Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video! It was an absolute blast spending time with my dad! Cheers 🍻
fantastic session 😊😊👍👍
@@clint26265 thank Clint! It was truly something special! Cheers
a 48lbr for the first fish in a lake that size is astronomical! Either extremely lucky or that place has some 60Lb plus fish!
I believe there to be much larger fish, especially seein the length of these fish, specifically the length of the 45.5lb common caught towards the end of the trip.
@@TeamCarpFishing If i was in your shoes I would do a baiting trip with some 200kg's or mixed birdseed and 22mm boilies, (reach out and get a sponser onboard) and do a huge baiting campaign. Two trips 200kg per time 2 months apart. The content would be utterly ridiculous!
Fantastic session on a truly amazing looking venue. You guys are so lucky to have those vast water systems to fish and explore, you could do a month on a place that large and only scratch the surface. Its a different world to what we are used to in the UK.My kind of venue for sure. Also love the house boat concept aswell. Subscribed and look forward to seeing more Canadian adventures
Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video. We are indeed spoiled, but it also takes alot of effort to find these larger fish, before this trip, I had only caught a single 40lb fish. This trip really opened many people's eyes as to what is possible so its safe to say I am going to continue exploring this system, and who knows what kind of special fish it will produce.
Sign me up for this
If you ever want to make it out to canada, reach out, we have a good group of carp anglers that i'm sure would help you get onto some fish here!

Lovely movie. I was hoping i could find a link where you had rent that boat.
There are a few, look for houseboat rentals on the Trent Severn on google! Good luck!
