Both have their merits the army sets gave you a codex with the new minis backed up with the combat patrol that follows a month later gives you most of the new miniatures the battleforces usually come with large vehicles and characters especially at Christmas

Codex's rules section should be digital only and come with Warhammer+ subscription, rules are temporary and so perfect for that payment method

Still weird that Admech has yet to get an army box. Hoping they're saving it till the end of 10th with some cool new units. But hope is the key word there.

i pretty much only go for for holiday battle force boxes at this point...

well, I like the Idea to integrate the faction in combat patrol, but I believe they totaly failed the concept in general. I mean take a look at the current combat patrols. they totaly removed monsters and non transport vehicles from all CPs. Just to integrate 2 combatpatrols with vehicles exclusively. And then on my secnd thought I take a look at the other factions, like admech and see missions like in the current ADMech CP, where "your enemy has to choose 1 unit which is not a Vehicle. If this Unit is destroyed, then u score [...]" well, I would concider this as unplayable in combination. The knights CP don*t fit in this concept at all. And the alternative: ADMech scores when there is no unit within their DZ, or DZ+6". So this means just 1 armiger parks in their DZ and then this Mission is lost as well, because how should they beat knights with S3.4 or 6 weapons? This is a whole CP box which could go home emidiatly.... (and just the first, which I have looked at) I mean CP is a style of game for newcommers, which try the game with their first models, isn*t it? then It is ia total disaster if the cheapest CP takes out entiere factions of the game. GW would have done better by taking 1 Knight + some cultists or some skitarii (like in the grotmas detachment) as one CP (in my mind at least)

I’m excited by two knights. It could be more cat and mouse. Thinking about my space marine and Tyranid combat patrols. Tyranids still may not kill a knight, but they can tie up one or two of them long enough to win a game depending on points.

I don’t think some of the combat patrol boxes can even handle 3 small knights. Basically show up, run around and hope you get better rolls.

A very interesting but appreciated approach from GW to implement Knights in combat patrol. This kind of design opens the door for more unorthodox combat patrols that could be featured in future white dwarfs and in 11th edition combat patrol at some point! Shocked it’s not just 1 knight in the list

My 2 sons and I played some Combat Patrol at the local GW store yesterday and my youngest has really got into Chaos knights. He's going to go crazy tomorrow when I tell him he will be able to play Chaos Knight combat patrol xD I'm assuming 2 knights and some cultists but that seems scary as hell to face.

I'm curious about Chaos and imperial Knights combat patrol, AoS Giants Spearhead rules made them an absolute monster to desl with, so IDK if they will be able to balance it The new IGuard combat patrol.... Man, like at least add a heavy weapons unit

I'd rather see GW ever possibly adopt a build a box model, say pick 1-2 HQs. 1-2 troops, 1-3 others( of course it will be GW curated ....)

I haven't had a lot of experience with the Tempestus Scions before today. I just picked up the Aquilon Kill Team, so I figured I'd look into this. I didn't realize the Scions only came in boxes of 5 minis...

For someone that already had all the models to play this the detail this covers was really helpful!

Who knew GW had it in them to design such a fun combat patrol list and just throw it in a White Dwarf. As I said in the video, I highly recommend just proxying this list and paying it once or twice. It's definitely worth it. Thanks for watching!

40k is a shit game anyways. I love the models and already have a lot of infantry so I got the box twice :3

The parasite seems like a great option for objective work over hoard culling. So I think it is best into armies with low model/unit counts like the new custodes, old successor chapters and the new space marines

Aeldari combat patrol is good game value but it sucks that they pushed 10 really old dire avenger sculpts with the rest of the models...

It's funny you mention liking the World Eater combat patrol. Most opinions I've heard online aren't sold on it. While it's an excellent discount it's very heavy on berzerkers which are so common in other combo boxes that it almost devalues them in those other boxes.

Yah helbrute, finecast, dreadknight and dreadnought make it preatty clear it's fake. Though I do wish they had found some way to balance Combat Patrol around the vehicules rather than just removing them. Give anti-tank strategems etc... have the vehicules arrive in later rounds like they do in Spearhead. I'm kind of sad that Combat patrol is loosing it's center piece models 😢

I hate that these very, very, very, very painfully fake combat patrol pics are getting this much air time. It's just going to encourage more people to do it.

I feel like the eldritch omens box is kind of let down by the inclusion of chosen. Chosen are so pushed by GW and so unnecessary because they're in regular power armour, the exact same size as legionaries, so if you make any effort whatsoever to make them distinct enough at a glance you can always run legionaries as chosen even though they're half the price per model. This is especially true if you have extra bits from other chaos kits to use for them, but worst case scenario just say something like "the legionaries holding chainswords are chosen, the ones holding bolters are regular legionaries.".

For someone who plays mostly solo I really miss two player boxes😢

They were bad most of the time and they definitely sit on shelves the longest.

I know stores here in Ohio that have shadow throne and wrath of the soul forge king all of a month ago.

Hexfire really was a problem due to when it released as well as the new character for the thousand sons being absolutely goofy good at the time. They then also started the next edition of kill team with a promise of “we’ll make copies as much as ordered” that and the tzaangors were also a bit hated as well because it really made sure that we kept them in every value box. That box caused an uproar for thousand sons players.

Never seen one of them, but anyway miss the so much. GW is expert on ruining good ideas damn. Now not even Combat Patrols or Battleforces are anything good, i m sure soon enough Combat Patrol wont even exist.
