Prayer is the subject of Jesus’ most audacious promises to us. And yet, the worst-kept secret in church history is that most Christians don’t particularly like prayer. Why is there a gap between the promises of Jesus and the experience of His people? In this study, we will dive into those very questions. As someone who is both peaceful and always in motion, sitting still is so very hard for. So.much so that it almost rises to a level of suffering (as strange as that is) So the thoughts expressed here really minister to me, that im not alone in my restlessness and quest for stillness before God. Thank you!!

Wow this made me think. I realized now after watching you talk about different kinds of prayer for half an hour. That my morning walks to work are in a way a prayer. I also realized that when I presently listen to the birds chirping and animals in my walk I have a heightened feeling of Gods presence around me, this always make me smile and makes me feel good and relaxed.

I've always felt like I've had to talk and talk when praying. Learning to be silent is hard for me. Shaking off "religion " and getting into a real relationship with Jesus is difficult at times, for me. This study has been eye opening for me.

It appears that Remember is the most common command in the Old Testament, while Do Not Fear, is the most common command in the overall Bible.

So I thought I was pretty smart and spiritually mature until I watched these Christian intellectuals talk😂. I can appreciate the growth my mind had to take just to understand the vocabulary 😮. At the end I realized that we are all different, have different relationships with God and maturity levels. I love Christine and her transparency ❤. I can relate to her best, but hearing all these other men speak of their prayer journeys was motivating and humbling and reassuring as well. I love the diversity of the Body.😊

I'd love to see how worship through song comes into play with intimacy. For me I find I transcend to a blissful paradise through sweet song to the lord in addition to prayer through song. I haven't heard it mentioned yet but I think that is one portal to paradise for those who have the gift!

I've never heard of "The Examine." Chat GPT says: "The Examen" is a method of prayer and introspection developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. It's a technique found in his Spiritual Exercises and is intended to help individuals reflect on their recent experiences and discern God's presence in their lives. Typically practiced at least once daily, the Examen involves reviewing the day's events to identify moments of consolation (where one felt closer to God) and desolation (where one felt further from God). The process of the Examen typically involves several steps: 1. **Gratitude**: Begin by giving thanks to God for the blessings of the day, acknowledging and appreciating the good. 2. **Petition**: Ask God for the grace to understand and interpret the day's events. 3. **Review**: Reflect on the events of the day, identifying where you have and have not found God's presence. 4. **Forgiveness**: Seek forgiveness for any faults or sins and ask for God's mercy. 5. **Renewal**: Look forward to the next day with a resolution to improve based on the insights gained. This practice encourages a deep sense of discernment and awareness, helping individuals recognize God's guidance in their everyday lives.

Just starting this, looks good! Re the 3x/day prayer, it’s not from the 1st century church but further back - the Hebrews/Jews prayed & still pray 3x/day - see Daniel’s (of Judah’s) habit: Daniel 6:10 (KJV) Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. King David said the same: Psalm 55:17 (KJV) Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Ain't gonna base anything of my spiritual growth and walk with Messiah Yahushua and our Heavenly Father YaHuWaH Elohiym Most High on a MAN coming after Messiah Yahushua himself, teaching and admitting to using LIES, CRAFTINESS, SUBTLETY and GUILE to deceive many. Romans 3:7, 3:10-18, 3:23, 2 Cor 12:16 are but the tip of the iceberg of deceptions taught by this false apostle.

The garden could also mean Gethsemane. Where we weep, struggle for God to intervene and it's hard. It could also mean the garden of the empty tomb where God answers prayer and we are excited and awe struck. Whatever garden we are with Him in Paradise because they are His gardens. Amen ❤

My daughter was hit by a motorcycle and almost died….. The day before…The Lord called me and my praying women at my church to A shut-in!!! This crying out to God and laboring experience girded me with Moses strength to handle the unknown that still has visible side effects for my daughter since 2014. The medic asked me, “Are you really the mother? He stated I was too much in control! Thank you JT for bringing our Black experience blessing from slavery: you have been used by God to transfer this experience. It is not just for our culture… It is for all. You have encouraged me to plan for another shut in!!!!! From my Catholic experiences where I learned discipline to my praying experiences in Accra Ghana where the beat of the drums led believers in a 48 hour call to Physically present prayer ( Prayer-Jama). We are soooo blessed to experience creativity in our walk with the Lord!!!! Wow!!!!!!! This is Real- Talk Y’all!!!!
