    Love Tyler, John and Jon Tyson ! I’m old enough to be their mother. So proud of them to see these disciples following Jesus. I’ve learned so much about walking with Jesus from their teachings. ✝️🕊

    To have a “virtual church” and teachers in addition to my home church is such a gift. I’m so thankful for the powerful knowledge and communication gifts of these two gentlemen. PLMLLF was such a springboard for my faith and I’m so excited to read the new book. Your earlier teaching on The Familiar Stranger was so touching. I’m thrilled to see the expansion on this topic. I’m so thankful for your recovery and healing. God Bless you both!

    Wow, I'm so excited for this book.. Praying Like Monks was such a great book that grew me in my prayer walk. You've got such a good, healthy balance of the supernatural coupled with the practical. I feel oftentimes it's either one or the other, ie people being devoted to scripture, rich in prayer, silence and solitude, fasting,etc. or operating in spiritual gifts. Thank you for seeing that both are so incredibly valuable to our pursuit of Jesus.

    Sounds like I'm a candidate for your ideal audience for this book. Curious if it's available in audio form...I'm often asking the question you ask, how does this in real time living this out look like much in the same way Schaeffer asked How then should we live?...with the empowerment of a supernatural God within us.
    It's so easy to come with all of our preconceived ideas to try and live out this thing called the good news in 2024, but the thing is how do we truly access the kingdom come as He wishes to see it within us? I think thr best place to start with the answer to that is in the beautiful yet self sacrificial picture of the suffering servant King. Those three words in the same sentence together doesn't systemically make sense to us but it's who He was. The beautiful thing is that His Spirit will help you seek Him and over time these mysteries will begin to make sense.

    'Ecstatic Union with God' is from the gnostics who wrongly adopted (ancient) Greek philosophies. God abhors syncretism. (Just like Jesus told the Samaritan Woman at the well.)

    What is the contemplative?

    • @RobertGaron
      @RobertGaron 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Contemplative is a process by which we center ourselves down in Christ. We expose ourselves to be expectant of the Holy Spirit to come be with us. It’s about relationship. It’s about silencing ourselves, pausing, and entering a space where we reflect on God in prayer, communion, and reflection.

      @@timdobbins8996 yes. It’s more about the relational peace, acknowledging, being together with an opening ourselves up to receive that relationship. There’s a reason why Jesus says I stand at the door or not. It’s not just a one time knocking. We need to choose each day to open that door and allow him to come in for that relationship. This has nothing to do with salvation.

      For me I think about it like this: Just because something is always there and with us doesn’t mean we are always interacting to flourishing with it. Think about someone you love, who is always “with” you, you still have to work to spend time with them, to foster intimacy, to “abide” in and with them. It is the active of moving from passive presence to active attention. These are just how I think about it, I am by no means someone who understands it all

      I hope you aren’t challenging what they discussed. Yes! The Bible is the greatest way to hear from Father God. Though, scripture also clearly tells of stories of the father speaking directly to his beloved children.

    wrong. no one in the Bible is 'actively' pursuing messages from God, or a 'spiritual experience'. God ordains who or how he administers his power. Making demands on God is 'not' what he wants from his Children. He wants worship, praises & thanksgiving

    uggh. we are not interested in Roman Catholic Mystic teachings. The monastic monks mixed pagan practices with their pseudo-biblical beliefs. Not helpful at all.

    Another big church pastor working toward celebrity and then a publishes licks his chops, and so does the pastor! book deals- same ole plan playbook- why do they think the bible is not enough when they can give us Gurus too?! So sick.

    • @pateleigh
      @pateleigh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Can you explain what is "so sick" about two people having a conversation about The Holy Spirit? People can be seriously hurt by certain church environments and they are simply having a conversation about how to deal with that pain. Tyler wrote a book about it because he had a genuine experience and wanted to share it with others that might have had a similar experience. (myself included) Is it because they are well known that they shouldn't share their experience, knowledge, and insight? Is it because he's making money? Have you ever consumed any Christian media, whether it be a tv show, movie, or book, and learned something about God or how to better walk with Him in a genuine relationship? Did you know that those people were also making money? Is there a difference in tithing or giving and purchasing a book that can help change your life?
      To me, what's "so sick" is you judging people on TH-cam that are literally trying to help people grow and heal. They are not working towards celebrity status, that are helping people foster a real and genuine relationship with God, encouraging people to dig into the word daily, pray daily, and do good in their community. As a result of that, a lot of people are listening to them. They do think the Bible is good enough. They are just writing about how to understand it better in our day and age. I usually don't do this type of thing online, but this upset me.

    Embracing unrepentant effeminacy is a damnable sin (1 Corinthians 6:9), and this is syncretizing Christianity with the new age.
