I love Dekker’s work and am thankful for all he’s done to move our industry forward. While he didn’t do it alone, he took on battles that no one else had the guts to face. It’s funny how the people who criticise him usually haven’t read his work and don’t really know what they’re talking about. Thanks a lot Prof. Sidney Dekker🤩
For sure he and his work is amazing
Thank you for the deep discussion about Safety learning, Juliana is a well known professional in Brasil, with thousands of followers interested in what she brilliantly shares: the importance of synergy, collaboration, methods to improve learning process in a caring culture and more. SafetyLAB experience is unique!
We agree she is amazing 👏
Amazing Safety Show with Jean-Christophe Le Coze... Please would you have the one with Juliana Bley uploaded ?
Congrats for the great podcast and the work that you guys have been doing... Please can you upload the Show Live from EHS Congress 2024 for Juliana Bley, we would love to watch this one as well... Cheers All the best
Hi thank you for the feedback! We have 2 more episodes coming out today - including our chat with Juliana Bley :) - Cheers!
Awesome interview! The genuineness was refreshing. And getting Dekker to talk Star Wars...It made my day. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. Any chance to talk about Star Wars, don't quite know where I was going with it thought haha!
@@RebrandingSafety I think that some people genuinely don't believe that there are lessons to be learnt from fables or fiction or even history for that matter. When I have facilitated training on investigations, I use Space event (Apollo1, Challenger, the Columbia disasters along with Apollo 13 along with the Kobioshi Maru). And I did it because of a personal passion and I saw those were more about the people and situations then the scope or location. At first when I started talking about this with a group of miners I was looked at as some weird Sci- Fi Nerd, and I was generally worried about receiving a wedgie. But, as time goes on it was those scenarios that started to help me build some trust with folks and forced them (at least I hope) to think more along the lines that Dekker talks about in towards a Just Safety Culture. One where we don't always blame the dead guy, we learn from the past and work towards a well earned bigger bonus. Anyways, keep up the good work I am quite enjoying your channel.
I've been considering health & safety as a second career and really struggling to find advice and opinions that aren't sales tactics. This video is exactly what I was looking for - and your words are very encouraging. Thank you!
No problem glad it's helped! Thank you for the comment it means a lot!
Here We Go Boys Nebosh Noob
🤣🤣🤣
Hi, can you recommend a good CDM course? I’m confused with the pricing, some courses are £30 and others are over 300?
To be honest I have seen or been on any that I have found to be good. I like what I seen on social media from a company called PCR Global but not been on a course from them. Maybe try them out.
You are the first TH-cam video before I purchased nebosh. A few years ago. Now I work as a HSE advisor. 😊 (in a large college) now looking in to CDM and you pop up again. Thank you 😊
What a lush comment!! That's made our day thank you!! 😊
I am new to construction as H&S Advisor your video's are so helpful to clarify some of the fog.
That's awesome thank you!
Thank you for this video mate. I have an interview for CDM coming up and this really helps. Do you make any instructional videos where we can gain like qualifications in this area too?
Hi Mate! Glad the video helped!! We are looking into tutorial videos mate!! Watch this space
@@RebrandingSafety thank you that is great!!. I had an interview on cdm but my knowledge was weak so didn’t get it. If there is a future course I’d be grateful 🙂
Looking at doing NEBOSH general cert, what else or what other qualifications would you reccommend to do after the general cert? I’ve been in hospitality and catering for almost 16 years, is there good jobs in H&S in that sector?
Hmmm that's a good question. Off the top of my head I would say just go out there and get stuck in getting experience solving problems. Sorry that's annoying answer lol.
Please elaborate the worth of ASP/CSP in terms of jobs.
Can a person be working as both HR and Safety professional at the same time?
Whilst I would say that I personally am not a fan because at some point HR would have to sack someone, and that's not very helpful to where safety needs to be. I have also seen HR and safety work well together in a joint department, so I suppose that it's more about the attitude and culture of the team/person/business
Hello, is this channel still active? Thanks. Looking for some advice as far as changing careers into health and saftey. Thanks.
Hi Mate, Yeah still active we have just struggled to get back to consistently uploading videos since starting the consultancy!
@@RebrandingSafety Good to hear. I start my Nebosh next week so looking forward ti studying it and seeing if Health and Saftey is for me. What's your best tips for someone looking to get their first job in the industry with no experience? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I’ve worked for Amey, Carillion, Interserve and Mitie and learned more in this video than my hundreds of years employment with them!
Wow! Thank you for commenting that! I am chuffed the video provided value!!
Im doing a CPD Fire Course but in looking to do a Level 3 too
Nice!
Can the client review and reject the CPP
Ideally it should be a collaborative thing that you both put together. But yes they could reject it in reality if there is something they are uncomfortable with.
This is what you get when someone who is clever enough to be a programmer or engineer goes into safety. Brilliant.
Wow thank you!
I got my nebosh i even dont know how to write a proposal lol
Swearing repeatedly. You don't know how to spell 'principal'. Yeah. Try rebranding.
Thanks so much for your feedback charliemopic470! 😊 And thank you for pointing out our spelling mistake! It's so greatly appreciated. Having published 100's of videos over the last 5 years it's inevitable that there will be mistakes along the line, we are human after all!!! 🥰🥰 Regarding the swearing, we absolutely love it! And we always make sure that any video we make has maximum profanity. Doesn't swearing just feel great?! It's all about the context I suppose 💁♂️ The next steps to growing our channel will be to watch all of your content for much needed inspiration. Thank you again, and we hope you have a fabulous day! 😘

@@RebrandingSafety Swearing is extremely unprofessional. You aren't a child youtuber, you portray a professional company but act like a teenager. Take the advice, stop swearing in your videos.
DOES OHS officer has age limit?
Nope 😁
Dont you mean client has to appoint a principle dessigner ? Not principle director or is it the same thing?
Yes designer....did I say director?! My bad!
Fantaastic content! I have never seen something so brilliant to make things easier for learning. A massive thx and congrats 👏
Thanks Luigi!! 😁
F*ck yeah…totally vibing on this. I’ve been a HSEQ Coordinator for the past 19 months and it’s been a heck of a ride so far. The stigma attached to our profession is very much alive and thriving. Contemporary OHS approaches taught make it seem that the anti safety perception has disappeared…so far from the truth 😂 I’m definitely very appreciative of this particular episode. Certainty will be looking into the Safe Tribe app (from NSW Australia).
Ha! Love it!! It totally is still alive! Keep doing what you are doing and we will change it!
Fantastic content, thank you! 🙌
No problem! Glad you got value out of the content 👌
And after nebosh IDip we can get admission in UK for MSc
Can you make video on msc occupational health and safety management
Nice bro
Thanks 😁
I have looked at a career change to go in to health and safety for a while now, thinking it was all death by powerpoint but from the people ive spoke to it looks like i am a long way from the truth. Is there a maximum age for entry to the industry and i have a degree in health and social care, would this degree be of benefit in any way ?. Ive also been offered an opportunity to volunteer in my work NHS, as part of the fire safety team. Would this be of benefit ?. Thank you.
No age limit at all! The more the merrier! I think both of those things will help you for sure.
Great info guys. I’ve been using AI for various things in transportation safety in the US.
That's awesome. How do you use it?
Hello, following from Kenya 🙂.
Thanks for following! Hope you like the content 👍
@@RebrandingSafety yes I very much do like your content, I am pursuing a degree in OSH.😌
There per hour rate?. Your country?.

@@RebrandingSafety just asking.. Average salary?
The English have used HSE to remove or inhibit people from using their own common sense. How f....g stupid do you have to be to be told to be careful....... The people making these rules and laws have never been the worker having to carry out all this BS. Bunch of f.....g w.......s
Thanks for your comment. I am inclined to disagree whilst there is a lot of stupid shit done in the name of safety our legislation is actually quite good in my opinion compared to others. (Even though not perfect) There is a lot of flexibility and even in our civil law the "ordinary reasonable person" test is literally a test for the so called common sense. So the law actually encourages common sense.
Hi sir , How i join your company as a safety engineer?
I am electrical engineer having 5-6 years experience in 220kv grid station and also NEBOSH certified. How i join your company
Hi Waheed, thanks for your message. We don't currently have any opportunities, but keep an eye out on the channel, we post videos when we have vacancies come up. Thanks.
@@RebrandingSafety sir , Thanks for reply me . In which country you working ?.
Hi where can I get those cards
Hi! Link is below to the shop 👍 riskfluentltd.com/shop/
Hi there, Great video. I am starting a health and safety advisor job in the next few weeks, I’m early on in my career, so my legal knowledge is still novice level. What advice would you give to someone like me to make the opportunity successful?
Congrats on the new role!! 👏 Top tips....argh that's huge question! To be honest my top tip would be yes learn the core legislation it will help but when uou get started my top tip would be spend as much time as you can learning how work is done in the real world. The more you knkw about the real world of work The better you can apply the legislation in a resonable and practical way.
Thanks for your reply!
You used Riverside FM AI vs Opus?
Also AI episode... keen
AI episode needs to happen for sure! We have been using Opus clips for the last few months. We love it! Not tried Riverside though.
Where can I get the cards?
Hey Eddy, on our Website www.riskfluentltd.com
I wish you taught nebosh!😂
Aww thanks!! We have debated add training and qualifications to Risk Fluent Services but if we did it wouldn't be for a while!
Quick question, if I do fire risk assessment training, would I be able to issue certificate after assess the premises for the client? Thanks in advance
A lot is changing in the fire risk assessment space but the building doesn't need a certificate it needs a fire risk assessment recorded in writing. Hope that makes sense.
I'm glad the conversation is being had about being expected to know all the answers, and loneliness when you're the only person acting in a safety role at an organisation. This is so important and resonates with my experience as a H&S professional
Totally, Peter and I are actually discussing that exact topic in depth in the next podcast episode
In that position between Nebosh Idip or diploma civil engineer constructions , have completed the IGC
Beautifully explained, your channel is gold
Thanks for commenting, that means a lot to us!! 😍😁🙏
Great video mate, i totally agree and see these issues in my area of work too, i think this is something that really needs to be on a rotational training matrix for those folks that are responsible for SDS and COSHH assessments
Yeah for sure!! I am a safety professional and I always forget COSHH stuff! The skills fade is real! 🤣
This is something I see in most of the clients I go to. A good example I use is a tub of decorators paint. An employer has two employees painting rooms in a house. Let’s say Joe Bloggs and John Smith. Joe Bloggs has to take some of that paint and get it from the tub on to the bedroom wall and he has been told to use the sprayer. John Smith has been told to take some of that paint and paint the kitchen using rollers and brushes . How is that paint going to affect that person from the moment they open the can to pouring it to getting it on the wall to finishing the job and sealing the can back up and what are the protective measures that can be used for each stage ?
Great example. The difference between spraying and rolling will be significantly different alone!
brilliant thanks
You're welcome!
What advice have you got for someone who has a fire risk assessment level three can we do the attend safety advisor?
Depends what you mean by level 3 but most approved fire risk assessment schemes not will require the entry level qualification with experience under a mentor.
@@RebrandingSafety I mean a level 3 certificate in fire risk assessment. Because I have been looking for a job in fire safety due to because I’m a new entry they can’t give me the job. It’s so frustrating, so what do you advise me to do? Thank you.
