  • Ever submit a Safety Data Sheet in place of a COSHH Assessment? Here's why you shouldn't......
    SDS = Information
    COSHH Assessment = Assessing the actual risk within your operations

    Great video mate, i totally agree and see these issues in my area of work too, i think this is something that really needs to be on a rotational training matrix for those folks that are responsible for SDS and COSHH assessments

    This is something I see in most of the clients I go to. A good example I use is a tub of decorators paint. An employer has two employees painting rooms in a house. Let’s say Joe Bloggs and John Smith. Joe Bloggs has to take some of that paint and get it from the tub on to the bedroom wall and he has been told to use the sprayer. John Smith has been told to take some of that paint and paint the kitchen using rollers and brushes . How is that paint going to affect that person from the moment they open the can to pouring it to getting it on the wall to finishing the job and sealing the can back up and what are the protective measures that can be used for each stage ?

      Great example. The difference between spraying and rolling will be significantly different alone!
