The difference is in their personalities. Roger always came off as a very opinionated and domineering personality, while GIlmour is laid back and cerebral. Roger came to be a creative force, while the rest of the band was the talent of the music. There were many interviews with Gilmour when Pink Floyd went solo taking shots at Waters' limits at even playing bass. The feud is more like the writer of a show having a huge disagreement with the cast. Not sure what was going on with Pink Floyd between "Saucerful" and "Meddle", but they became a huge band because of their overall achievement together. Time has shown the personality of Waters (just read some his lyrics "Animals" and on), his interviews and actions. Then look at GIlmour, laid back, genuine, a creator or fantastic and soulful guitar music who held the band together in a collaborative process.

The situation is similar to divorce. It's the kids that suffer the most. In this case, it's the fans that suffer as there will be no more amazing music from Pink Floyd as we have come to love so much. Sad. So very sad.

Roger Waters is brilliant. I don’t understand why he thinks that he can’t be out of a band he started, when he was instrumental in putting Barrett out. You don’t get to decide for others. You get to go your own way.

The side I'm on: Is all this feud. I think without this endless debate, the Pink Floyd would actually have been "a spent force". This fire keeps Pink Floyd burning. And they know that much better than all of us.

Here in Argentina we love The kinks! to me is the best band by far of all times. You can not event compare Beatles with The kinks. The Beatles only played 2 years in live, their las show was in 1965, only 2 years after their creation as a band. The Kinks played until the 90 improving and making one song better that one. You can compare Kinks with the Stones. Beatles should be compare with the Grassroots. The Kinks is to much for the Beatles.

Only a feature length Movie could explain their feud, and uprising in the world of 20th century music. No other Band, brotherhood, has ever been so well documented in their historic moments. They got banned from the US! How bad do you have to be to get banned from the US? No other band has gone so far. I think there needs to be a Movie about the Kinks. Or perhaps, a series of episodes to culminate the historical adventures of these talented brothers journey through their professional music odyssey. Who the HELL has the BALLS to make such a film?

Roger is the song writing genius that kept this band relevant and popular from its inception. W/O him, no The Wall, Darkside of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, etc.... It's like Mick Jagger leaving the Stones, rather "Pear Shaped" is all as a band from 85' til they stopped touring. Oh, and R9ger is still touring at 80 with great performances and always changing artistry and song arranging to better suit the fans wants!!! David plays the the guitar well and sings great too, but he's 1/4 of Pink Floyd, not a founding member and has a stalled out career since 2000s began. The argument is onesided on this video in the direction of Gilmour too much is all!!!

My No.1 Jimmy Page is the GOAT Guitarist. He is a Master Guitarist and Musician who raised the bar for any artist, in a career spanning decades. His group, Led Zeppelin, created the most epic tunes from Blues, Ballads,Classical and Rock and Roll! Still, today, many younger generations from the first fans in 1969 are still picking up their first guitar, while watching videos of Jimmy's brilliant technique, to play like the Rock God they first heard, and try to perform the magic only Jimmy Page created. God Bless Jimmy Page 🙏🏻 ❤ 🇬🇧 🎸 🎶 🇬🇧 🎵 🎼 💙🔥 💯 🎸

Roger was, and still is, a political radical. He wanted to move the band towards his political leanings, and even insert it into the music. They refused, and told him to get lost. They were better off for it.

I try to watch these sorts of things. But its never anything new or revealing. Basically, anyone can do this. Re-tell all the stuff thats already out there. My point is where will it end up. A zillion hours of rehashed and repeated band stories, which may well have saved a large section of rain forest, had they never been made. TH-cam should offer monetisation for some people to NOT make content. Let's hope their upload facility soon develops the ability to dump re-hashed stuff before it goes live.

I’m actually on Roger’s side. And I know it’s an unpopular side because he was (past tense - “was”) kind of an asshole. I used to be team Gilmour, but the more I thought of it, the more it feels like Gilmour was a total opportunist and basically moonlighted as Pink Floyd and played all Rogers songs/concepts and made millions upon millions. Momentary Lapse and Division Bell were both mediocre. Roger was the visionary of the band, he wrote 99% of their music and lyrics - and Gilmour got filthy rich from it and because he was butt hurt about how Roger treated him over the years retaliated by going on as Pink Floyd with a glorified cover band of A-list musicians to tour arenas and make Roger out to be a bad person. I can’t imagine having been Gilmour and having the gall to not only keep the name for touring, but even hiring people to come in and write Pink Floyd songs for the band is actually kinda pathetic, and totally unnecessary. But the fact that Gilmour’s camp was able to gaslight everyone into thinking it was still legitimately Pink Floyd by playing all of Roger’s certified bangers live just seems like the side I can’t see eye to eye with.
