The Song Led Zeppelin Wrote as a JOKE but Turned them into ROCK GODS!
มุมมอง 2K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is the story of 70s rock classic 'The Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin - written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant as a sort of joke, tongue in cheek. Let's examine how the song was written, the humour involved in its creation and how the song prophesised the band's journey of becoming Rock and Roll GODS! We also examine the other instance Led Zeppelin employed humour in their work with "D'yer...

When Charles Manson Wrote a Song for the Beach Boys
I love David's music, musicianship and stage presence, but as a thinking human, he just checks out and follows the crowd. Look how he "supports Ukraine" without giving a thought to the way we in the U.S. have been using them as a proxy to attack Russia for nothing more than economic posturing. We are sacrificing THEIR people and using them as cannon fodder. But he will come out and "support Ukraine" and shows how utterly stupid he is. He also probably is going along with the genocide we are doing using Israel to do it. Or are they using us? We are one in the same. He's a bit of an idiot. Roger, on the other hand, has been following the events and the reasons and the causes. He reads things through and gets as much information he can before he renders an opinion. He doesn't just "do the popular thing" and follow the crowd, like his bandmate would do. That is the major difference, and that alone would split any team apart.
Birthday Party. Mean this as a compliment.
Hotdog was and still my favorite track of that album
Roger WAS and IS Pink Floyd
Watch a video a while back , Carl Perkins had made a similar comment to Paul, and Paul literally got up and walked out of the room. its was a few years before anyone knew about the song Lennon had composed. If im not mistaken Linda McCartney told Perkins that was the last thing john said to paul .
He can what he wants BECAUSE he's Keith Richards?!?? Any of us can say what we want. I think Led Zeppelin is overrated as hell. I don't care if they're so popular still, they'll never be one of the great bands of rock and roll to me, and Jimmy Page is the most overrated guitarist of ALL TIME!
Team Gilmour here.
....divided we fall
I don't find it weird for a band to turn down 150 million, if they're already rich. They probably agreed to 1 (one) reunion, and spent their stamina on putting aside differences for that one reunion. But being (suddenly) confronted with the thought of touring for months, sounds vastly exhausting if you're having a feud. Touring while feuding often seems to work only, if you don't interrupt it, and naturally get used to it, like the ramones or oasis. But once you break that chain (hint intended) it must be terrible to suddenly get back to that state.
Grumpy rich guys...
Years ago, Roger Waters told me what happened the last time he encountered Syd in Harrods. He said Syd was wearing a long trench coat and fishing hat, and was carrying two giant plastic laundry bags that he was busy filling with sweets from the pick 'n' mix stand. Roger called out ,'Hey, Syd!' Syd turned and stared back at him. Roger said Syd then dropped the laundry bags on the floor, spilling sweets everywhere and fled from the store.
Sad this had to do about money. Big rule, never, ever sell rights to a corporation.
So do I
As far as being, '2nd fiddle' in the band, in Led Zeppelin, everything you like about that band, is all John Paul Jones. An interesting correlation between the two iconic groups.
Just found fdc and their new single and having listened to it feel I've experienced something so totally new and brilliant. Gald to not be able to define what's it about. Looking foward to new streets untrodden, clip klop, clip klop, livealiveoh!
Stupid They should have got on better They’re both brilliant artists
That's too bad, Echoes is one of my favorite PF songs, but right it is a very sentimental song, for me it is the equivalent to Beatles' "Something"
Love love Waters!! Great man ❤
Roger has a conscience, so I am on Roger’s side if I have to take a side! Sadly the music has suffered I have albums by both and they are not up to the Floyd standard!
Why can't people just be friends??? There's a war going on. I love them both. Great video :)
Your technician of music is a. Joke learn real story !
Learn your music !
I’m with Gilmore don’t dig up past that was clear
Why
David thinks his shit don't stink. Syd is always pink Floyd best waters is cool too
we all know the real ''owner'' of pink floyd is Syd Barrett lmao xD
fucking love yard act
Two different bands. I never cared for Led Zeppelin. Just not my thing. So what? I love The Who. So what? It was happening at great time in the history of music. It's all good.
You never take up the sword against your band like Roger did. He sinned against the art. This was proven as to why he never could fill a gig in 85 while in 87/88 the Gilmour led Floyd ruled the world.
Technically Larry Carlton was better than any mentioned here - listen to “point it up” and judge for yourself and EC always had him play at his crossroads concerts.
Richard Wright has always been my favorite member of the band!
R.I.P Mr. Richard William Wright Born: July 28, 1943, Hatch End, United Kingdom Died: September 15, 2008 (age 65 years), London, United Kingdom Mr. Richard Wright is the heart and soul of Pink Floyd
Now Tommy Shaw vs Dennis DeYoung you can add to the feuds. Dennis has no ill will to Tommy but Tommy is still butt hurt about Dennis not wanting to tour as much as he did and the fact that CMC ordered Tommy to finish a Styx album.
Hall had no problem with Primary Wave owning some of their rights before. And he'd still retain HIS rights now. AND he's said in the past that he and Oates were business partners, NOT creative partners. It's not like these men ever really just hung out together much, you know...like FRIENDS do.
"John Mayer, not known for his guitar playing ability" whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
for your next video can you please do how Rock artists inspire and influence by Bob Marley.

DAVID GILMOUR IS PINK FLOYD.
David Gilmour has completely lost the plot, he marches with the ukrainian fascists in a US proxy war. Stupid really
The Who was banned from Australia, and The Beatles were banned from The Philippines.
Gilmour... Obviously
I try not to take sides. Love everything up to the final cut but roger is a d-bag
Ps, I just went and downloaded Meddle from Apple to listen to Echos. It's been a few years... Nuttin but Joy! Thx for the reminder😀
Echos is not only at the top of Pink Floyd's discography, it stands at the top the entire pre-90s Rock discography. On the subject of genre, Floyd was a genre unto themselves. Nuff said.
Definitely Richard Thompson should be in all "best of" lists, imho.
Which one's pink? The only person on every Pink Floyd album is Nick Mason. Thank you 😎
They arent whole without each other. As much as they may quarrel that's just the truth
