I absolutely love the podcast topic, but you all sound outdated. “Lock in” is an endearing phrase my friends and I use often to encourage an individual to perform better if he or she is not acting in their full capacity. The word is a purposeful call to adapt to a specific situation.

Very great stuff Blakely! I have a BA in Econ and Poli Sci and many of your stuff resonates with the concerns I had, and waya to go forward. I've qlways had interest in philosophy, humanities, and theology so I knew about scientism pretty fast. I think it'd be good to do some work with an economist specifically someone in a "heterodox" school, but better yet a philosopher of economics or historian of economic thought. Its just thst there are good critiques of "economics", and bad ones so it is good to cover your bases to protect yourself from attacks. On a fonal note I believe there are many ppl interested in this, and from what I see, ppl in sociology and anthropology are much more into qualitative analysis.

@26:34 I'm curious why you care so much about low taxes in such an important decision as where to live? I would imagine that the more wealthy one is, the less taxes actually matter due to not having to worry about money in the first place. I'm not hating and I understand wanting to pay less taxes, but having that as a key factor for such an important decision when you in fact don't really need to worry about money is confusing to me. Anyway, congrats on getting married!!

I love this podcast and how geniune and vulnerable you two are. I'm reminded of this quote from one of my fav sitcoms - "she crumbles under the pressure to be interesting." Why is there so much pressure to have unique/exciting hobbies and always be doing something cool? Taimur I'm curious if you really truly even want to do video things given that the mere idea of spending time just leaning about tech tools, even if you don't fully implement it, feels almost silly. Rooting for you both in what seems like a period of transition 🫶🏽
