Visions of Mana is WONDERFUL (Review)
Visions of Mana absolutely surprised me with how well rounded each of its systems were. From the story, to the combat, to the music, everything gave me a good time and in this review I want to explain how much Visions of Mana meant to me after playing it. Always enjoy when a game exceeds my expectations and Visions of Mana is a JRPG that did just this! Thank you again to Square Enix for the review code! :) #visionsofmana #squareenix #manaseries

Is Black Myth: Wukong as Good as Everyone Says? (Review)
มุมมอง 171หลายเดือนก่อน
Black Myth Wukong was a highly anticipated action RPG from developer game science that tells the story of Sun Wukong and the Journey to the West. I absolutely loved my time with Wukong but I am a bit surprised at the praise the game is getting purely because I feel the structure of the game is a bit messy. Let me explain my entire experience in this review of Black Myth: Wukong and the good and...

Zenless Zone Zero Review: I Wish This Wasn’t a Gacha

Zenless Zone Zero is the newest Action RPG from Mihoyo and I was hesitant to try this game due to my history with gacha games and Mihoyo. I had a big addiction and love for Genshin Impact until eventually giving it up because I felt like the devs did not see me as their target audience anymore. Today I wanted to review Zenless Zone Zero because the combat and characters have been so fun it’s ac...

I REALLY LOVED Stellar Blade [Review]

Stellar Blade is finally here and I can remember back to when I saw this announced as project Eve. Now I can finally review stellar blade after 80 hours and a ng run. Stellar Blade Brought THIS Back to Action Games

Stellar Blade has fantastic combat and everyone is talking about the gameplay rightfully so! I wanted to bring up a point about Stellar Blade though and that’s how enemies and bosses stagger. While there are action games that still utilize staggering like this, I feel Stellar Blade brings it ba...
Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide DLC SURPRISED me! [Review]

Final Fantasy XVI The Rising Tide DLC released and I was skeptical to buy it. I didn’t want the same content we already had in base game FF16, especially in terms of challenging bosses. I was surprised by the amount of content on offer for the price and FF16 The Rising Tide offers ...

Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Review - I’m Disappointed
2:00 here I stopped watching the video , I’m tired of this Miyazaki dick riding in every souls like games videos
NGL I started my mana journey with visions of mana. Now I am looking at the other games because I enjoyed it so much. Thanks for the video.
Of course!! Love to hear that, I loved Visions of mana So much
same massive cope here lol, 5 was just so bad i guess we will take anything now
Its story is soo weak
I’m playing it now. I feel so bad for Kohaku, so it’s pushing me to move forward. (I am liking it, though.)
I've been playing Metal Gear, the whole series of numbered games, and it's been awesome. (Still have some side missions and a few alternation missions, left, in MGSV.) That was a true experience, going through that whole thing. Always wanted to get back to Kingdom Hearts.
What do you think of wuthering waves combat ? I don't think it's close to 10/10 but i like it it's very good.
I need to get back to playing JRPGs again, last JRPG I finished was Tales of Berseria. Been playing nothing but WoW and it's starting to take a toll on me. Is the Trails series worth getting in to?
This game came out two years after the FF7 Remake. All I could think about was waiting for this release, while the FF7 remake was good. I wanted something more "RPGie.", very good game. Only con IMO, is I wish somebody on PC would make a coop mod.
Yes baby, I managed to preorder a PS5 Pro!😊
WOOOO thats awesome
I saw the cave arena and i KNEW it was that fucking slime
the scroll of truth has been opened for that review. Good stuff that said OKAY LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE GUY - THE THINGS YOU LOVE ABOUT THE COMBAT ARE THE SAME STRENGHTS AS FF7 REBIRTH WHICH YOU DIDNT LIKE THAT MUCH I AM GOING TO FIGHT YOUR WHOL BLOODLI-
Thanks my dude. I DO LIKE REBIRTHS COMBAT I JUST ENJOY THIS ONE BETTER.
squirrel tail butt pluck Google it, it's a thing. I can't unsee it now, for me she is wearing it ingame.😂🤣
Just deleted it from my wishlist despite it looking so beautiful (thought I didn't need it because I have NiNoKuni2 unfinished in my backlog, which is of the same beautyness to my eyes). Will put it back on.😊
I thoroughly loved this game and I hope u do too! It does look like NiNoKuni 2 hahah that’s a game I need to try myself!
@@SweisSenpai yea just the art style, i don't know, reminded me of it.
Hey bub, Does this game offer any post story content like boss rush...etc?
Not exactly a boss rush but it has a lot of post game content like a couple super bosses, challenging dungeons, and more skills to unlock for your team
@@SweisSenpai Good deal. Also, FF16 is finially on PC....I can finally try it. Btw...I have liked most of the games you recommend such as Star Ocean and Scarlet Nexus. Surprisingly, Tales of Arise combat did not vibe well with me. Arise look awesome but something about the combat felt off for me :(.
I’m glad u found a few games from my channel that u enjoy that’s my favorite thing about posting videos :) It’s ok u didn’t vibe with Arise, not every game will click with you
Visions of GOTY
😄
Why do I feel like Visions of Mana is just Granblue Relink but actually have better thoughts on gameplay and progression.
While they are different games, Visions is just more my style when it comes to how u approach bosses and enemies. For a boss you go for crits and humanoid bosses stagger. Relink is very much based on a stagger meter so you are aiming to drop the boss. Visions I just prefer
Glad i bought this shit 💯!
Heck yeah!!
Great review, man! Visions of Mana blew me away with how good it is! Besides Rebirth, I think this is the best game SE launched this year!
Absolutely agree! Thanks so much :)
Awesome review. I picked it up too on launch but put i down due to astro bot/time. Will be diving into it after i beat Astro bot. This is boss from you streams btw.
BOSS! Thanks so much for watching the video :) I hope u enjoy the rest of your play through when u get there!
AYE SIR
AYE AYE
I`m open to playing any game, regardless of where it comes from. I for example am totally hped for Obscure 33. Though there are certain genres I just do`t like. Mainly shooters. So I automatically gravitate towards Japanese games more because they have the majority of RPGs and Hack x Slash games. Even if there are western rpgs or hack x slash games, I don`t really play them because there are better japanese game of that genre. Like Darksiders, which to me feels like discount DMC. Why should I play Darksiders if I can just play DMC instead? There are original games but I just don`t find them interesting enough. Wether it`s Dragon Age, Skyrim, The Witcher, AssasinsCreed or Ghost of Tsushima. They are lacking in content and gameplay compared to Japanese games. At least for me. I could play NieR instead. Or a Final Fantasy game. The only western game I actually enjoyed a lot and palyed for a long time is Diablo 3. The onl western game I still have hopes for and that is on my wishlist is God of War 2018 and Ragnarok.
personally i like ff7rebirth combat even tho this vid released 3 days after the release
U could deff put that on here. Maybe a part 2 👀
@@SweisSenpai yep.....
The physics and the transitions of the combos are the problem, speeding up animations was just a bandaid to BAD fundamentals. Air dodge and air guard were also bandaids to the massive problem Osaka team has with combat animations and transitions between them. (The fact that Sora does not descend until AFTER air animation frames are finished) Take a close look at the kh4 trailer and you can see that the game still refuses to cancel any animation to do a a new move, you have to wait until the ending of each attack animation for Sora to do another attack animation. This is how it worked for BBS, DDD, Re:Com, 2.8, and KH3. This is NOT how it worked for KH1 and 2.
I do agree with a lot u said here but did u know they DID add combo cancleing into kh3 with every single attack animation?
The reason I don't play them is because they're too easy and I get more out of movies or anime. Video games need mechanics and challenges... Something hard to find in jrpgs.
You’re looking in the wrong spots because I play these games BECAUSE of the challenges bosses and combat
@@SweisSenpai Well, you clearly haven't played something like Nioh 2 or a dark souls game, to call JRPG bosses hard.
Sir, have u seen my other videos? My channel is all about souls games as well. Love dark souls and played every one. Some JRPGs like KH2-KH3 have insanely difficult super bosses that match or are even harder than souls bosses
Agreed about 16. After playing kingdom hearts, Tales of and Tri ace games I just prefer games where the enemies stagger when you hit them. I totally get that ‘hitting a rock’ feeling and it’s makes the combat less engaging. It LOOKS cool but FEELS off. I also like having options which kingdom hearts games and tales of have different abilities, spells, and modifiers. Once you have all those options it’s hard to go back.
Definitely mainly RPGs love them since the SNES days. Also the Yakuza series and Nintendo's own stuff is generally great 👍
Great taste dude!! 💪
I got 5 mins into your review paused the video and went out and bought Stellar Blade. 89hrs later and I'm on new game plus having a blast hunting for collectibles. Good review dude!
This is probably the best comment I ever received :) I LOVE that! Thank u so much
Not only do I have the original PS1 version and the Switch version of the remake, I also have the OSV soundtrack on CD imported from Japan.
Star Ocean Forever!
I got Star Ocean The Second Story R just last week for Switch. I've always like the game and I am keeping the original PS1 version. It's aged very well since 1999.
im so glad more people will be able to enjoy the graces f experience in 2025
SAME
It's so frustrating, like 3 times DS2. 20 hours into the game and I just dropped it. I will not elaborate more, I've played every single souls and this is the most miserable I felt playing a soulslike.
Feel ya man, I beat champion grundr and stopped at Dragonslayer because I felt like I loved how refined everything was but I really don't like boss runbacks something about running past enemies or being on a long elevator just makes me mad beyond what I can describe like just let me fight the boss it's not fun rolling past enemies but at least dark souls had areas where i appreciated an enemy type or had moments of feeling badass. In Lords of the fallen it's just ugly as fuck and you go from umbrell to the real world far.too often. Like it needed to be toned down way more because fighting dogs while an archer shoots you just makes me run around like a mouse cursor it's just absurd. I very rarely if ever lock on and I roll so far that like I use almost all my health on one pack of enemies and don't do anything like that for a boss. I'm sure I just need to use more magic and I don't want to give the game but fuck man at this point I just.sprimt through the areas as much as I can I don't stop to look at shit if I can help it. I beat God of war Valhalla on hard, ghost on hard, Wu long, Jedi survivor on master, and Hades not the most impressive line up but I know I would've beat dark souls 3 if I kept going if I can beat Aldrich and dancer I can beat anything I just didn't feel like learning dragonslayer and admittedly was beat down but omce I found out I was only 3 bosses away from beating the game I knew I should've kept going
those are mostly rpg's with little freedom to leave the main story for exploration. not for me.
This is a video highlighting combat systems, I am not prioritizing the story lol
Nice analysis man 👍 KH4 system gonna be insane if its a step up from kh3. Id say my favorite combat system is from a mobile game 😂😂 called Shadow Fight 4 Arena (not square enix but still amazing). I think Ive played it every day for the past 2 years. One of the only games Ive ever played where you can actually beat higher level pay-to-win characters if you have superior timing and precision.
Thanks for watching bro! I know u be a pro these days at shadow fight 🤣 always dope how u enjoyed the combat of that game
Glad you enjoyed Valkyrie Elysium's battle system, it has surprisingly a lot in common with the 3d Ninja Gaiden games, it takes a while to learn but once you know how it works it becomes one of the most underrated action games of this gen For me its 1. Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix 2. Nier Automata 3. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth 4. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin 5. Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind 6. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade 7. NEO The World Ends With You 8. Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII 9. Star Ocean The Last Hope 10. Final Fantasy XVI Honorable mentions go to Star Ocean The Divine Force, Visions of Mana, Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22374487139, and Valkyrie Elysium
Dragon Quest 11 🌌💟
Love it
Remake has my favorite then it would be FXIV Dissidia XIII-2 X-2 XVI Strangers of Paradise
Stranger of paradise and 13-2 are some of my personal favs too 👌 could’ve basically put those here as well but wanted a top 10 lol
Rebirth is easily my favorite combat system ever. It's so mechanically complete.
Remake to rebirth was like kh1-kh2. It’s basically perfected now
Hmm, Chrono Trigger, Octopath Traveler, FFX, Visions of Mana, Divine Force, Rebirth, and FF Tactics would be on my list fo sho. Someone else in the comments mentioned Forspoken and I agree, the combat is actually really good. I might also throw SaGa Frontier in there. Lots of great systems from Square. Thanks for the vid, Sweis. I was honestly surprised that two Mana games were on there. We got to get you on the others because it's looking like a series you're falling in love with 👍
Great choices I can’t wait to try Octopaths combat in Particular. You make a good point, both Mana games I’ve played have totally swooped me up it’s time I delve deeper into it! Thanks for watching my dude :)
NO STRANGER OF PARADISE!!?? WOE IS ME... I know that's Team Ninja, but other then DQ11,FF and KH. I'm pretty sure Square doesn't own any of the developers here.. pretty sure even the remake of Crisis core had the combot done by someone else. And someone mentioned, Nier Automata... THAT IS PLATINUM GAMES!! I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, TEAM NINJA WHERE ARE YOU!! okay. That concludes my Stranger of Paradise Goon session. Thanks fir listening. Great video Sweis!!
I should delete the video for forgetting Strangers of Paradise🤣 DUDE my brain always attributes it to Team Ninja so hard I forget it’s a darn FF game. Great combat indeed
Nice list, I personally would add xenogears myself. Its such a fantastic game with a genuinely unique combat system.
Ooooo I gotta finish it
Aww man, you broke the trinity of having KH1, KH2 and KH3 as your top 3! 🤣 But overall, very interesting list and thier reasonings not only for veteran, action-based players like yourself, you also included some simpler games and even some that are rather hated. 10. Star Ocean 6 - Player variety is nice for sure and the small clip looks alot like something from FF15. 9. Visions of Mana - Player used WATER GUN! It's Super Effective! 😂 And that's actually kinda sick for the elemental add-ons to not only alter your stats, they also change your character's appearance too! 8. FF7 Rebirth - Damn, never knew that Remake didn't have said parries or perfect dodges. Even then, just hearing that Rebirth got it just sounds much better and like you said about utilizing each character and thier unique playstyle, makes it much more rewarding. 7. Dragon Quest 11 - Man, this game gets all the praise, huh? Though tbf, it really deserves it though. And what was that special move?! 😂 Only playing a bit of the Demo, it does seem like there is some variety to be made to make things unique to each character. 6. Valkyrie Elysium (?) - Man, some people really do be hating for the sake of it, huh? 😅 But aside from that, it almost seems like your older action playstyle games if some things weren't as implemented yet like w/ the lack of cutting off a combo, even then, it still does look rather well and the fact you can literally juggle anything is pretty cool, not alot of games do that. And variety is always key. Enemy or weapons, make it all for everyone! 5. FFX - (putting the tenth game in the series into the fifth spot 😂) No objections here, it's definitely a good starting point game to not only Final Fantasy, also as a game in general. Wonder if Square will ever revert to this battle mode again? 4. Trials of Mana Remake - That's real nice that the power scaling in this game is actually good. I feel like alot of games have a hard time doing that or when they want to spice things up a notch, they notch it up a bit too much...or they assume a player plays a certain way and then during specific checkpoints in the story, the game will hand you over something that could be utterly useless due to grinding or immensely OP if you have been doing self-made challenges or plowed through the main story, breaking the game a bit. 3. FF7 Crisis Core: Reunion - Interesting for sure... But yeah, Crisis Core was a great departure from the usual FF turn-based stuff and really hammered down on reactionary gameplay. Tried it myself (the OG) for a bit but got my ass handed to. 😂 So satisfying to play as well, just everything felt so smooth. 2. KH2 - Y'all knew this had to be in this list. 🤣 In comparison to KH1, or even the OG KH2, you could just feel the power playing and progressing through this game. It was pretty much perfect. 1. KH3 - Knowing you, I knew this'd be snoozing up here on the top! 😂 Though yes, heard the initial base game release of KH3 was a bit...off but even then you still persevered in this game and seen that KH3 wasn't as bad as many claim to be, especially comparing it to KH2 like many did. And seeing through it all (and the much needed DLC) really made KH3 shine as it should (of) be. Again, very interesting choices of both new and old! And also, there was some moments of where the commentary was spliced in so fast into what you were gonna say next.
Sorry. This is now sweisskouhai. You aint gonna make a top ten and list all this stuff INCLUDING ELYSIUM AHHHHHH and NOT put nier automata up in here. Tsk tsk.
LOL SWEISKOUHAI Nier has great combat and while I included it in another list for a 10/10 combat system it’s still not a PERSONAL favorite of mine :) still love Nier
@@SweisSenpai hmmmnmm
I am glad I found SweissKouhai's channel. He is the only guy who dig deeper in RPG combat aspect.
Aw thank u! That made my day
Solid list. I agree with pretty much everything you said, especially when it came to FF16 lol. I think outside of Kingdom Hearts, Rebirth is the best Action RPG combat they've made. KH2 and KH3 are phenomenal of course. I *need* to see something on KH4 already, please Square. Where is it?! lol
Missing Link is still missing so who knows when we’ll get 4 LOL. Thanks for watching bro :) Rebirth is a gem and I need to play more
Hot Take: Forspoken is one of my fav
Wow! Don’t hear that much but it actually has a great combat system
@@SweisSenpai Ikr..I am happy that I tried the Forspoken for myself. Great list btw...I wanted to like KH3 but the attractions killed the game for me. Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy my issue with attractions?
Extremely hot take. Such a shallow game. :P
If u are okay with tougher difficulty options the critical mode is spectacular and in crit mode u can turn the attractions off! I can’t stand the attractions either because on other difficulties it’s SO unbalanced so I feel you on not liking attractions
Combat in that game is awesome, I appreciate your take
Pretty good list with interesting and kinda surprising results here and there (maybe not cause I see your thoughts on Twitter lol) Now give an explanation on why NEO TWEWY isn’t on there 😂
LOL because I actually never finished NEO and as much as I enjoyed the combat I gotta delve deeper before I make content 👀
Thx man. Helped with a few things. Still having a hard time building combos for Nina and Midas but I’m trying. A 2 year break didn’t help anything lol
I was hoping they'd made the DLC a bit more challenging but they over-compensated too much and I can't finish it. lol Most of the difficulty though doesn't come from being more challenging as much as unfair. I died to the TimeKeeper four times and just accepted my loss. There's a threshold for games and they can't be too easy, but they also can't be so hard that they aren't fun for the targeted audience. This DLC caters to more hardcore players that play games like Nioh, Elden Ring, Ninja Gaiden, and so on but it beats the crap out of the average Final Fantasy player. lol
Even with the challenge you can still put the game on easy mode and use the rings. I for one welcome the challenge Greatly, the base game was so easy and the boss like the Timekeeper are finally making me engage with the combat. I’m sorry it ended up being too hard for you personally. I believe u can win :)
@@SweisSenpai No one wants to use the rings. lol That takes away all the enjoyment from the game. The main problem is it's DLC that dropped over a year later and most people haven't been playing, so making it this hard was a questionable decision and why a lot of people complained about it. I actually just managed to beat him but I game to relieve stress, not add to it so I just took a loss on the $20 like a bunch of other people did. It also didn't make sense lore wise for him to be so much more powerful and difficult than Omega or Ultima when he wasn't even an Eikon you know? So, there's a lot about this fight that bothers me. lol
The lore implications on why they are stronger I agree it doesn’t make much sense 🤣 if the base game actually taught people the combat more though I think this dlc would not have felt as tough. They went for an action game and usually these games are harder than the average final fantasy because you need the bosses to be intimidating. Base game made them feel weak even though they were giant knights or monsters haha
