Oil Farmer
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 ก.ย. 2013
Hello and welcome to my channel. We are a very small farm in Northeastern Ohio that makes and sells hay. I do have plans to one day expand our equipment line up and get into growing corn, soybeans, and wheat. For the most part we run older IH and Allis Chalmers tractors. The content you can expect to see here will be anything involved with making hay, equipment repairs, land reclamation, farm improvements, as well as some machining, fabricating, and restorations. If any of that sounds intriguing to you please don't hesitate to subscribe so you won't miss out. Enjoy the videos and thanks for watching!
Mowing, Tedding, Raking, Baling First cut 2024
For the first time in a long time we were able to make hay in the matter of 2 days. Got the Farmall 706 and International 1066 cranked up and getting this hay up in a hurry.

All the red oaks around my place look the same. Rotten in the middle and evertime the wind blows a little they come down. Makes good fire wood. Dont think people understand what the cat was pushing when you moved the whole tree. Them old oaks are heavy. Takes alotta muscle to move one that size.
@davidtipton7234 agreed that tree was every bit of 4 foot diameter at the stump. I was also being cautious to make sure nothing was coming over the blade. All it takes is one stick aimed just right to poke a hole in the radiator. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a great old Cat.
@@user-ln6fv6rc8e thanks! I love that thing.
How do you make your bales so tight? Have the same baler and having problems with bales being crazy loose. Thanks
Каркас кабины развалился. Закрепи).
I have the original n260 mini giant this the first I’ve seen like it very cool but good luck finding any other parts for it
@@MCKlNNEY they are out there. Just have to put the work in to find em. Thanks for watching!
I just seen this for sale on Facebook it looked like you did you sell it?
@MCKlNNEY yes I did. Ended up being too small for what I needed. It was a fun little project though. Further info coming soon in a future video
Great video. Nothing like those old chain balers, looks like that one has been taken care of. Subscribed, keep up the good work
@STA_FARMS it is very well taken care of. Never been wet since it came off the dealer lot. Never been rained on or washed. Just blown off with air and wiped down with diesel fuel. Thanks for watching!
Hey to a hay farmer to a hay farmer them bales look really good man keep up the good work
@dirtyhandsyt6677 thanks! The old 853 does a good job still.
Have never seen a round baler without belts before. The best part of the job is loading up the bales with the skid steer.,
@chargermopar The bar and chain baler is all I've ever used. My favorite job is raking, but I rarely get to do it. Thanks for watching!
@@oilfarmer706 Yes, if something breaks it is something you can fabricate yourself!
Just an FYI.. Keep an eye on the chains, bars, and bolts.. My neighbor had one and a bar came off one side of the chain... It was NOT good!
@bradjenkins932 oh I can imagine that would turn into a mess real quick.
@@oilfarmer706 Yeah it wasn't pretty or cheap
Keep up the great work 💪💪
Thanks. Will do!
Cool as the old D7s might be they have very little power
Got torque for days. It's all in the gearing.
Wheres the power😢
Try stumping with one of those all day. It will wear you out...
Oh yeah. I did 4 pretty large oak stumps and on massive cherry stump. My whole body was sore the next day, especially my clutch arm.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Pony engine should run at another rpm for 5 mins with main engine turning over to warm cylinder head, with compression off, then start main engine. this comes from an old retired operator!
What i have seen of your dozer i am pretty sure its. Newer than a 3 T
Nope serial number is 3T24510
If you tell me your sierial number i can tell u exactly what year it is
my D7 is built in 1956 i did steering clutches And Brakes overnhauled the engine
Nice! I know this this engine was rebuilt I think in the 90's
30 thousand hr engine. With good maintenece
spoked idlers old
Only one of them lol
good old tractors best ones had oil clutch
This one has an oil clutch.
Great video. She's a beast
That she is. Thanks for watching!
On your round baler is there a monitor on it where is everything manual
There is a guage on the front of the baler to let you know how full the bale is, there is another guage to let you know where your twine is at on the bale when wrapping it. The only thing on the tractor is a control box with a 3 position momentary switch to run your twine back and forth (electric tie baler) and a buzzer to let you know when the bale is full. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@oilfarmer706 thanks for commenting back looking at one just like you have
@fullers1966 Nice! Is it electric tie or hydraulic tie?
@@oilfarmer706 I believe it is electric
@@oilfarmer706 just went back and looked at the add for the baler it really don't say but it does have 4 hydraulic hoses on it I'm going to figure must be hydraulic tie
Good operator, looking after the grand old lady. From Australia
Thank you!
What year is your D7?
From what I've been told, according to the serial number it is a 1953. I've never looked it up myself. Thanks for watching
Great to see you back ... awesome job getting it fixed up and getting that track on 👌
Thanks! Glad to be back
Glad to see you back.. Handy little machine.
Thank you!
How’s the parts availability on these? Also, could you give me an idea of things to look for when buying an 853? Like I said before in my other comment all I’ve ran is belt balers. I’ve got no clue what I’m looking at here 😂
Parts seem to be readily available. My baler hasn't asked for much, so I really don't have to go looking for parts often. I'd say the big things to watch out for would be apron chain wear, and dry rot on the air bags.
@@oilfarmer706 gotcha! Hoping to pick this one up I saw on marketplace. I was surprised at how good of a bale it makes. I know the new holland chain rollers before this one they made a pretty shitty bale so I figured these did too. I was wrong!!
There’s an 853 on marketplace for 1450. I’ve only had and ran “newer” belt balers. I’m not doing custom anymore because it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Just doing my own hay these days. Thought it might be nice to get a chain baler so I don’t have to worry about screwing with belts anymore. If I flip a belt 1 more time I’m pulling out a lighter 😂
I've never ran a belt baler. They seem to make good looking bales though. Other than bending a bar when it picked up a tree branch, I've never had any issues with the 853. Thanks for watching!
Where did you get the frame rails
I got them from a slavage yard in Youngstown ohio.
I did the motor on my d7 last summer got parts out of interstate mcbee
That's good to know. I've been hesitant to do much to this dozer because of lack of parts. Thanks for watching!
The old NH still makes some nice tight bales! Nice footage bud!!
That it does. I wouldn't trade that baler for any newer one. Thanks for watching!
@oilfarmer706 I had one like that. Saved my butt more then once. Probably shouldn't of sold it lol. Oh well.
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Very nice work
Thank you very much!
Sorry to hear about your dad. I usually lean on Matthew chapter 6 for he is a treasure in heaven. Finish the truck in your own time and I will look forward to seeing your progress in the future.
Thank you for that.
Sorry to hear about your dad passing. Randy Travis 3 wooden crosses. “Not what you take with you, but what you leave behind”. You definitely made home proud
Thank you.
I’m so sorry that your dad passed but just keep on doing what you were doing you will get though it. Loving the restoration I absolutely love Mack trucks the r model especially.
Thank you. It's been difficult, but I'll get back on my feet in good time.
I’ve watched all you truck restoration videos. Excited to see more. Where do you find parts for these trucks I am looking to rebuild 87 Mack rd logtruck
Many of the suspension and brake parts are available through aftermarket manufacturers like (Automann, Atro, Euclid, Dayton) Just have to find a truck parts store near you that stocks those brands. Some things have come from the Mack dealership, but parts from them are usually very expensive or not available anymore. Thanks for watching!
@@oilfarmer706 25:26 I work at a Mack dealership kenmor I think has made a special tool for the older two bolt style and the newer 12 point 16mm style top load Mack carriers cost about 400$ normally just put red lock tight on the inside bolts and tightened them as tight as I possibly can with what I have
That's a beautiful piece of property and a neat old dozer.
Thank you!
Condolences from my family to yours, so very sad to hear about your Dad, ... I'm very sure you will get back to the truck and continue its rebuild and I'm pretty sure we will all be still here quietly waiting for your return,,, Take care and all the best....

That's an awesome machine! Love the pony motor start up!
Thank you! Hope to get it back out in the summer.
Amazing how many farmers doing videos just start the tractors without checking motor oil, hydraulic oil and coolant level. 😖
It gets done. Just doesn't get recorded. You also didn't see me grease the batwing before I used it because I didn't record it.
When are you going to get back to this truck?
Hoping to put up a video in the next week or two.
