You should definitely check out more Wargaming alternatives- some absolutely phenomenal creativity and super unique miniatures out there. Some of my favorites- Malifaux, Infinity, Bushido, Relicblade, Moonstone, Conquest: Last Argument of Kings, Judgement Eternal Champions, Kingdom Death

It's not an "alternative" it's a completely different game set in a completely different setting.

The Quar are where it's at. I'm suffering from grimdark fatigue. The Quar are a welcome tonic.

I'd have loved this if aid known about just to use with Stormhost Silver. I miss the old Citadel metalic Blue, Green and Purple.

The Box Art with the 'Golden Demon' is a nod to tge 90s era paint sets.

So it's Warhammer, but we only got Skaven if they were British and Prussians? What I like of Warhammer, mostly Warhammer fantasy, is that he has the classic DND races but all of them are much more grounded with some of the best lore of any setting. When it's just the exact same race which looks basically the same, with little parallel to real human history or other settings like Lord of the Rings, it's kinda boring. Maybe I just don't get the appeal, but I'm not sold on this setting. You don't get the big rivalries of Empire vs Chaos, you get Quar fighting Quar about politics. Why just not use real WW1 at that point?

When I entered the hobby shop in Kraków in 1999 or something there were only three options: Warhammer, Warhammer 40000 and Warzone. I don't know how in 2015 US/GB/Austrialia could be worse.

At this point, ANYTHING is better than Games Workslop.
