These look great! Love the fur pelt, looked so easy to make. The Punishers warband might be a cool idea. The Bone yellow armor with a Black Skeleton always fascinated me, absolutely love their design.
For the sniper, I'd recommend putting a cape coming out from under one pauldron, thats what I've done for my horus heresy recon marines and it gives them a cool tactical look, as if they use the cape to partially camouflage themselves while crouching and sniping enemies. Plus it won't cover up any markings on the pauldron
Rumor has it that the next Horus Heresy box is going to contain MkII armored Astartes with a newly designed “Saturnine” Terminator armor squad. I don’t know what the tank or Dreadnought design is scheduled to be, but admittedly, it’s still only a rumor (though it has been reported from a few different sources). Fingers crossed! Honestly, I’d be happy with MkII or MkV, but I’ve been solely a Heresy modeler for almost a decade (which means that most of my Marines are the smaller Forge World resin sculpts, and a good amount of the smaller MkIII and MkIV sculpts from the Prospero and Calth boxes). I hope this gives you something to look forward to- I know it does for me👍🏻
I use my Red Corsairs as a hobby pallet cleanser. I am up to about 30 Renegade Marines at this point. I pull parts from various kits. For painting, the individual marines have kept their chapter/legion colors. The Red Corsair sigil on the left pauldron ties them together pretty well. I use these guys to try out new techniques. I also get to use colors outside the usual range I would typically select from. As an example, my Legionary Butcher (Kill Team specialist) is mainly Blood Angel parts with MK3 pauldrons and an Ork 'uge choppa in place of the regular two handed chain axe. He is painted as a Lamentor because I didn't have a yellow marine in my selection at the time. Anyway, I really enjoy these kitbash videos. I get some ideas from you. Mainly I feel validated seeing other people who hobby in a similar fashion to me.
I’m the same- kitbashing and converting is my favorite part of the hobby. I’ve been working on my 30K Raven Guard Legion for almost ten years now, and almost every model is a conversion or a totally unique character or HQ that I’ve made out of necessity (since GW/FW hasn’t given us a single RG-specific character or HQ even though some legions have more than 10!) And it’s not like I have a small army- I’ve got near 200 different infantry and every type of HQ. And all of the characters, even the ones without rules- I don’t play, but I love the lore and the hobby. This channel is an inspiration- Keep on kitbashing!
Nice timing, I just got my very first WH40K box and I got a legionaries team. I'm doing the same, adding resin bits to turn them into a Word Bearers squad
I love what you did with your warband! I totally agree that the current look of CSM can be a little too much if you don't want full out fanatical marines… Another good trick to keep the mean look but to make it less "chaos-worshipping" is to remove the horns of the helmets. They are more in line with regular marines, but still ornate with angry eyes and angry mouths
For my Iron Warriors, I use 40K CSM torsos, HH Mk III (old version) pauldrons, arms, power backs, and heads. I've also recently started using HH Mk III Iron Hands heads for all the augmentations they have. Great poses, perfect blend of modern and old power armor that gives me Iron Warriors a toned down vibe.
No I definitely think you’re onto something with the new Chaos Space marines. I’ve gotten the inspiration to make some chaos renegades myself, but when looking at the box in stores I thought that, while nice, there’s too many non-generic bits to truly use it for what I had in mind. Thus I went with ordering some older models online.
These really work and look great. Reading the Night Lords trilogy explains the warband problems. They get their kit destroyed all the time, so their armor and rest of the kit is messed up, a hodgepodge of many types and marks all together, would also mean ill fitting ones. You should paint these with different colours with only their warband insignia tying them together.
Conversions where the scale of the models is slightly out of sync are exciting. I really like watching how solutions are found in such situations (may be because I have several hundred different unassembled not-Primaris Marines lying around, so I really want to find methods for dealing with them, and videos like these provide them). Thanks for the video! P. S. Quar is good.
So you were going for unaligned, but if you wanted to be excessive you could have attached that eight bound skull trophy to a marine's codpiece. Other than that if your not all that happy with your greenstuff capes what about going with the actual cloth and superglue capes that you see a bunch in the grimdark tutorials? I think it's a nice idea to add extra detail that doesn't actually require 15 layers of streaking grime. Alternatively I know a lot or people recommend rolling out the greenstuff and letting it half cure before trying to sculpt it into stuff like capes so what if you rolled it onto some cloth gave it a half hour to start to cure before peeling it off and then sticking it down as a cape?
I'm currently painting the legionnaries kill team box and I decided I'll paint each of them as a renegade chaos marine instead of a marine from the legions. And so far I have finished...... 1 in how many months I had this box like 6 months? God dammit. I started painting the others but I prefer building models so painting always takes time. Thanks for the video.
Would love to see the Champion with fur-loincloth done in Emperors Children purple/gold, the pink-black seems to be more for the addicts while purple-gold seems to be for more 'professional?' EC characters like Eidolon, for me it says he wants to be 'the best' and be recognized for the skill.
Go red corsairs, that way you can mix in some marines from different warbands or deserters from other chapters while also having a unified color scheme
I've been long-tempted to do some Red Corsairs, but I wouldn't go full CSM for them. Maybe a 'veteran' squad, but most would be normal Marines that are more Renegade than full spikes and trim.
Been working on a chaos warband and i've wondered how to make them look chaotic without just using the regular legionaries so this will be useful. How about the daggerfangs, they're an alpha legion warband with greener blue, then silver and gold and of course the scales in green. They don't really have any lore than just that they fought the space wolves at one point but there really isn't any alpha legion warbands with a unique color scheme and sizeable lore.
I think a red colour scheme with some ragtag parts different colours from stuff they have picked up from the battle field maybe, like a red corsair or word bearer style
TRUE SONS???? I AM UNSURE YET, BUT WE SHALL FIND OUT 0:57 YOU SHOULD PAINT ONE AS A TRUE SON If I might stop being a turbo doofus for a few seconds, the topknot boi should absolutely be a True Son. The reiver helm guy would do nicely as a member of the Purge. Then for the champion I suggest doing a warband by the name of the Angels Apocrypha
Im sorry man but Crimson Slaughter was THE FIRST ARMY to get this kind of model designs. The entire current CSM range is literally based of the Dark Vengence chaos marines, who quite literally THE Crimson Slaughter box. I just disagree that this box is not generic enough, but I might be biased as I do love the CSM range.
I say make them Chaos corrupted Ultramarines... I have no idea but for a good while now I've just wanted to see a warband that come from the Guilliman's lineage
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
good stuff! if you do different schemes for each, the topknot fella calls out to me as a Sons of Horus holdout reminiscing on yesteryear. a True Son or Wolf maybe?
I would say actually make them a successor warband to the alpha legion because the alpha legion likes to pretend and make themselves look like members from other groups with that camouflage power they have so you can make them chaos and say oh this guy used to sneak around and be a member of the salamanders or this guy used to run around with the red corsairs and with the sniper guy because his one shoulder is covered you don't know which chapter or founding legion or warband he was a part of and you don't get any bonuses like how world eaters get melee and those rage buffs or space wolves get the movement and combat buffs but you still get the appeal of the rule of cool And I would say their group symbol is a unbroken chain made to look like the letter A and their other shoulder has whatever legion chapter warband that they mainly were sneaking into and like one of their legs or arms are colored in that specific groups color and then the rest you either do a black or like some color shifting blue camouflage or they're going into it
Man, I really dislike modern GW kits. Back in the day "Marine" was a platform. Chaos, Loyalist, Horus Heresy, didn't matter it was all the same sized marine. Now you have three different sizes in Chaos, Primaris and Horus Heresy. And all my old marines just looks dumpy and goofy. Oh and the detail creep too. Sometimes less is more.
I say do an Evil Deathwatch. Different Warband for each one, with a unifying shoulder pad or something.
Methwatch
Literally Black legion
So the Black Legion then
Red corsairs
@@mordredpendragon1235 if you want I personally have a Black legion army
Idk, the Crimson Slaughter are LITERALLY the modern Chaos design. The one you showed on screen is exactly the style of the Legionaries box.
Even more than that, they're literally where the look comes from
These look great! Love the fur pelt, looked so easy to make.
The Punishers warband might be a cool idea. The Bone yellow armor with a Black Skeleton always fascinated me, absolutely love their design.
Disciples of Destruction or The Brother's Paradox 😏
I love you litch ❤❤❤
Lich! good ta see ya, dude!
@totalNERD-eo7wx My man! Hope you're doing well 😎🤝😎
@@jamesbalchin7573 😘
oh no, not the takis bag marines

The armor on the tank commander is mark 2 crusade pattern I think, would love a full kit of them.

I’d love to see some conversions for Quar-vus armor. They naturally fit the beakie look.
>They naturally fit the beakie look.
I propose using the pointy helmets from the Turnip28 models as a suitably Chaotic equivalent of Mark One helmets.
"there's no mistaking between a Loyalist and a Chaos Astartes"
*Laughs in Alpharius*
Nice timing, I just got my very first WH40K box and I got a legionaries team. I'm doing the same, adding resin bits to turn them into a Word Bearers squad
Punish yourself by doing the Brotherhood of Darkness, with all the runes. Or seconding the Punishers.
I love what you did with your warband! Kitbash horus heresy blackshields, they're like a grey area between loyalist and traitors, they can look pretty much however you want
oh yeah babyboy swag

P. S. Quar is good.
little recomendation, paint the cloak on the sniper a flesh color, since it looks like torn skin or leather
this is what i do as well . heresy marines look awesome with chaos bits . omg i love this video

Iron Brethren, Sons of Malice, or Red Corsairs honestly. Also, gotta love seeing some good kitbashing, Chaos Marines are a perfect candidate for it.
I'm currently painting the legionnaries kill team box and I decided I'll paint each of them as a renegade chaos marine instead of a marine from the legions. I definitely agree with a different paint scheme for each model
Yeh love the idea of doing a different legion for each one
I did something with my Night lords by mixing some heresy era, normal chaos and bits from the Corpse grinder cults
Heyy:) Nian introduced me to your channel, aaand kitbashing!... I dig that term so much
Oracles of Change or Nightkillers both have cool colour schemes
You could paint some of them as belonging to the Pyre warband since they're orange and black
Renegade marines my beloved ❤
Go red corsairs, that way you can mix in some marines from different warbands or deserters from other chapters while also having a unified color scheme
Just to note, the gunner torso you were raving about is suspected to be the redesign for mk2 power armor
the space marine heroes blind boxes are great for renegades
I've been long-tempted to do some Red Corsairs, but I wouldn't go full CSM for them. Maybe a 'veteran' squad, but most would be normal Marines that are more Renegade than full spikes and trim.
Painted them up as a loyalist chapter who had turned to chaos.
Maybe you could paint them all as different Nurgle warbands? OR different takes/methods for the Purge?
Reiver dude is dope af
i think the marine with belt-fed bolter is perfect for iron warriors and the champion looks like a red corsair
Misha when Misha

awesome more kitbashing chaos boys
I think a red colour scheme with some ragtag parts different colours from stuff they have picked up from the battle field maybe, like a red corsair or word bearer style
Would love to see one as Steel Brethren for a cool iron warriors successor
Company of Misery
babe wake up mishmash uploaded
grazie per la traccia in Italiano❤
Sweeeeet. Bayonet is perfection
Chaos Marines look a LOT better with pointy shoulder pads, as opposed to the newer curvier ones
I’d like to see a night killer marine the second one would probably look best
HECK YEAH CHAOS MARINES
Yeah I'm not totally sure what it is about the legionaires box but I get what ya mean. 😅
The chest from that second dude is MK2 armor.
If you have any in robes you could make deathshadow which are basically chaos wyle coyote
I'm not 100% sure, But I think that armour mark in the Land raider kit is MKII.
TRUE SONS???? I AM UNSURE YET, BUT WE SHALL FIND OUT
0:57 YOU SHOULD PAINT ONE AS A TRUE SON

I love them all
The gunners in HH vehicles are just in normal MK2 armor
Actually, your wish might just come true!
That armor is actually MK II, which is rumored to a have a new release of some time in 2025.
*5:45
I say make them Chaos corrupted Ultramarines... I have no idea but for a good while now I've just wanted to see a warband that come from the Guilliman's lineage
Blue-Green. I don't know. I just like Blue-Green.
Looking at it I’m shocked at how long space marine arms are hands down to their knees .
DO MORE QUAR!!!
Sons of Malice
This makes me want to build alpha legion Primaris for killteam.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Red Corsairs
Please tell me what land raider you got the body from it exactly what I’m looking for for a kitbash
good stuff! if you do different schemes for each, the topknot fella calls out to me as a Sons of Horus holdout reminiscing on yesteryear. a True Son or Wolf maybe?
Sons of malice
I would say actually make them a successor warband to the alpha legion because the alpha legion likes to pretend and make themselves look like members from other groups with that camouflage power they have so you can make them chaos and say oh this guy used to sneak around and be a member of the salamanders or this guy used to run around with the red corsairs and with the sniper guy because his one shoulder is covered you don't know which chapter or founding legion or warband he was a part of and you don't get any bonuses like how world eaters get melee and those rage buffs or space wolves get the movement and combat buffs but you still get the appeal of the rule of cool
And I would say their group symbol is a unbroken chain made to look like the letter A and their other shoulder has whatever legion chapter warband that they mainly were sneaking into and like one of their legs or arms are colored in that specific groups color and then the rest you either do a black or like some color shifting blue camouflage or they're going into it
I think ashen claws
you should paint them as iron warriors
but super oily, rusty and oxidized
paint them Red Corsairs ofc, they do black legion better than the black legion. #Huronforwarmaster
Apocalypse Company
do a Creations of Bile warband
Feel like the armor piece is Mk II.
Make them Night Lords or SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!
Alpha legión bro
ashen claws?
a mish vid this time of year!?

Purge Pls
If you know where to look with 3d printing, you can find many bitz in the older, 2000s-era CSM kit.
Just paint one as a Marines Malevolent. They’ll fit right in.
maybe some kind of dull bronze-metallic (like scale 75 - decayed metal) look with black details?
Why not make an entirely new warband or use one with a cool scheme but no lore
Looking at it I’m shocked at how long space marine arms are hands down to their knees .
I think ashen claws
