    I just want to say for anyone showing early signs of ed (any ed it doesn't matter!!) that it is not worth it. I spent my teen years with an ed and I missed out on so many memories. From sleepovers to birthday parties and more and all that just to have some sort of control in life or to look a certain way. Please please please dont go through the path I have and please get better. its hard but I believe in you. Coincidentally today is the day I decided to make a change and you can too! You've got this besties!! I believe in you!!

    I was always this person around my friend. I would eat a normal healthy amount of food around them but inside I was dying. Even allowing myself to eat a square of chocolate made me feel like a pig. I would try to make myself vomit, as I thought it was a healthy way to control my ‘disordered eating’ and ‘bloated appetite’. Not everyone’s ED are public, some are in youre head.

    This is a very empathetic take, and it’s true that a lot of people doing damage posting this content are actually victims of this culture themselves or in some cases even may have eating disorders themselves. I hope these people get the help they need but in the meantime do protect your own mental health by not hesitating to click the the three dots at the top of TH-cam videos and selecting “don’t recommend this channel”

    In my experience, it was helpful to reframe hiking from "exercise" to an "outdoor activity". I recommend starting off with some non-strenuous nature walks, or even just nature wanders, so the focus is on the nature, not the physical exercise. It's so much more mentally enriching that most forms of exercise. I now see it as a mental health exercise rather than physical exercise. Like, I wouldn't categorise walking about in a museum as exercise, and now in my mind walking about in nature is in that same category as museums or festivals or shops. The walking is just how you get from sight to sight.

      That’s a good way to look at it if you’re already in a more strengthened body! But if you’re for example at the start of recovery after multiple months or even years of undereating and are possibly even underweight then it’s really good to take some time until the body has more energy again, and really do absolutely nothing like hiking etc., which is hard and kinda feels unfair for multiple reasons, even outside the ED thoughts, but I think at that part of recovery it’s a necessary thing

    • @Alice-si8uz

    I haven't been diagnosed with an ED, but sometimes it's so hard. Oftentimes I want food one second, then I make it and I don't want it. I just stare at it, feeling nauseous at the idea of attempting to eat it and feeling bad for once again wasting food. I only ever end up eating like once a day, sometimes not even that. Then there are days where I feel like devouring the whole house but when I try to eat anything my body starts to refuse it. I just needed to vent for a moment, sorry.

    In Norway the norm is bread for breakfast, lunch, evening food, and if you have soup or salad for dinner, you'll have bread to that as well. So we might eat bread for 4 meals a day.

  • @Crosshill
    @Crosshill 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    it might just be an autism stomach thing, but i cant just eat bread if im spending too much energy on school or a day trip without feeling unwell, the best thing for me in those situations is almost pure protein, just a compact hunk of chicken or a sausage. a bit of bread is a nice in-between snack to keep steady, and a slice of cake is great when you're feeling dizzy from overworking. your body needs fats, carbs and protein in different ratios to function so pay attention to what its telling you and try to give it what it needs to make you feel as good as possible

    -unless you have pcos you must limit your carb intake if you have pcos or the glucose spikes your body creates cause brain fog, missed periods, weight gain, moon face, high cortisol levels, blood sugar abnormalities, this is not the case if you specifically have *lean* pcos. But if you are obese, and have pcos, a low carb lifestyle is the way to go. You don't have to omit all carbs, but 50g - 120g depending on your size, over the course of 5 small meals at equal intervals throughout the day, can help maintain your hormone balance and the severity of your pcos symptoms. Diet is not 1 fits all in all cases, even this will be hit or miss for people as it's generalised and there are always exceptions to the rule. And I want to edit this quickly to add - this isn't about weight loss at all, just hormonal balance and inner hormonal health. So many food things are based off "man but smaller" and women need hugely different nutrition than men depending on the cycle and hormone regulation. Eat for your hormones ladies. ❤️
