on my wedding day i was in the peak of my ed. i cried the day after, i hated everything about the day for years. my hair, my dress, my body, the party, the location. i hated the photos. it also ruined the whole experience for my husband until this day is which is something i feel so embarrassed about and sorry for. in hindsight i would love the do it all over again but healthy and being able to enjoy it!

That comment about "You should be recovered by now" demonstrates a clear lack of understanding 🙄 it takes as long as it takes - there's no timeline that fits everyone.
I'm so proud of you for approaching your wedding with a recovery mindset, it's so hard to stay focused when there's so much "noise" around manipulating your body for events like this but you're right that the day should be about fun and the commitment you're making to each other. You're awesome xx

Thank you for showing that a happy and healthy life is possible! Any advice for having a doctor dismiss concerns about potential ED?

FIND A NEW ONE. I've had this happen and they missed severe health issues because they thought I was "fine."

@@victoriaz8356 I probably should. I'm sure I don't have a severe problem, but it worries me that my doctor shoved it aside, told me worrying about weight and food as a woman was normal, and then prescribed an antidepressant I told them I didn't want or need.

My mother in law makes comments like your Mum did. I know its coming from a good place and no harm is meant but how do you just let it bounce off you and not let it get to you? ITs like my brain is a sponge and just soaks up comments like that. One christmas I was going to makes cakes etc and she said "Oo that sounds Calorific" while I was in the middle of my ED (Which I still am now but in recovery)

About 11:01, as someone whose weight has fluctuated more than 1/3rds of my total weight, I've definitely noticed that people perceive and treat me differently based on my weight. I wonder if anyone has any tips on feeling secure in yourself while people are openly judging, whether perceived or real. I've had multiple people say to me that they would pray to get cancer, too, if it meant they would lose as much weight as me, and I just...
