I got 2 cargo trains with the rc train system but both died. Not sure what caused it but im thinking about converting them to powered up or maybe powerfunctions with a buwizz power brick

Brian - those aren't middle wheels for the 12V train motor from the Grey era, those are for 4.5V motors and blue era 12V motors. The 12V grey era middle wheels are part BB0012V2 on Bricklink

I have to order some 1x1 plates in white to finish rebuilding kits. Not much of a video I can make from them.

If those white hinge/panel pieces are still in decent condition then just placed them in 3% hydrogen peroxide for a day or two and they will almost good as new. I've done it with some BL orders.

Carbon fibre rod from the hobby store could work too

Love the new engine <3 If... IF you wanted to motorise it, you could run an umblicial cord from the engine unit to a baggage car, which has the battery & reciever in it. I did a similar thing with my Maersk engine when I got it, as I didn't want to remove the prime mover from the model :D

I'm very late to this video (because I'm only now looking into My Own Train), but I do have a bogey plate tip from someone who also has horrible luck with just dragging it over. I've found the best way for me to attach the bogey plates to the train base in Studio is to use the connect tool - you can click the anchor point in the middle of the bogey's peg and then the corresponding anchor in the train base.

For me, LEGO did not do better than the old system with bare magnets. This new system with embedded magnets is stupid because the magnets are smaller in their plastic and they are separated by two plastic plates so their force is divided by two or even three.

The 3x4 wedge plates without notches are common in black, red, white, blue. So you could at least cut down on the number of 2x3 wedges with stud holes visible. They also technically exist in LBG but rare. You'd just need a 2x3 wedge behind them to get it butted up against regular plates/bricks.

if you want to drive that loco alone i have an idea make like 4 of the amtrack autotrain (from around the 90's) cars and hide the power in one of them but aside form that thats a realy good looking loco

TIL the locomotives that I see rolling past my local farmers market are EMD GP-40s after I realized they look exactly like the Maersk locomotive. Never made that connection before despite wanting to build a model of one for a while now. Guess I'll have to make a modified Maersk locomotive of my own in the Union Pacific livery now! EDIT: Or not... there are so many similar-looking locomotives... well it's a start at least lol. EDIT EDIT: I think what I'm seeing are actually SD70 locomotives. Well you've inspired me to do actual research for a locomotive project anyway.

If you have enough time and money you Can make the train that was in the Big bayou disaster! AmtrakGuy365 has a great video on the Big bayou disaster. The reason i specificly Said this is because youre train has one GP40 and one Genesis, the Big bayou train has two GP40,s and one Genesis. Yes that is it just saving pieces.
